Western zodiac-wise, I'm a Leo, and while I really don't put any faith in astronomy, but rather like to look at it just for fun, I have to say most of the descriptions of a Leo fit me to a T! I was born in one of the Chinese's Year of the Tiger, which also fits with being a Leo. pitbulllady Same here; I don't put stock in atsrology, but I still like to poke around at it for fun.^^ I'm also a Tiger in the Chinese zodiac, although only a few of the descriptions associated with it seem to fit me. Oh well. ~Light Rises

I think that Randall would be a Taurus, being born towards the latter part of March. It would fit him, too, since he IS a bit hard-headed, and that is supposed to be a characteristic of people born under the sign of the Bull! pitbulllady I'm a Taurus, too (born May 18 nineteen years ago, I was)! I can be pretty stubborn myself at times, although that's probably because it runs in my family (and on both sides, at that). Don't need much help from the zodiac THERE, lol! ~Light Rises

Like pitbulllady, I was baptized when I was just a baby, then later on when I was old enough to understand what it meant. lol. Sort of the same thing with me, except it was more of a "baby dedication" rather than a baptism, and THEN I was baptized when I was 9. Congrats, re! ;D ~Light Rises

I've been interested in taking a martial arts course of some sort for a while now, and partly for the same reasons you mentioned, pitbulllady. Time has been the big issue for me so far, but since I'm going to be living on my own in a couple years, I just might start looking into what the studios in my town offer. I'm not a very athletic person at all (unlike my other sisters), but I have a feeling this is something I could actually get into and have fun with. ~Light Rises

Oh my gosh...I KNOW that...that thing! I used to see it all the time on those Jamster commericials (where they try to sell you "free" ringtones and cell phone background images) on G4tv, but that frog was only being offered as animated background images. Then sometimes, when I check my e-mail on Hotmail, it pops up as an EXTREMELY annoying banner ad where -- if I forgot to turn off the computer speakers -- I start to hear that stupid ringtone (it's even startled me a couple times, since I wasn't sure at first where it was coming from). And, yes...I've noticed that its little "special" area is concealed, and for a reason -- 'cept a fig leaf is used here in the U.S. instead of a bar as the censor. It's mind-boggling how things like this manage to sell. But, then again, if there are so many people who are willing to yammer away on cell phones while in a movie theater, anyway...well, then, it doesn't surprise me all that much. ~Light Rises

"Live8", Sean, was a huge concert/celeb event put together by Bob Geldof, who organized the "We Are The World" benefits for Ethiopia back in the '80s. It is supposed to raise money for, and draw attention to, the plight of many African nations. What it REALLY did, in my opinion, was to draw attention to the celebs themselves. Case in point: each celebrity who participated received a "gift basket" valued at $12,000.00. Now I ask you this: wouldn't that money have been better spent on the people of Africa? It's clear that the people involved are doing it only for self-publicity, if they have to be given THAT sort of incentive to participate. Most of the money raised, as with the efforts in the '80s, will end up in the hands of warlords and will never get to the people of the oppressed countries. pitbulllady Yup. 'Nuff said. *nods sadly* ~Light Rises

Just to let everyone know that I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow (or, rather, later today, since it's a quarter past one in the morning now), and won't be back until the Wednesday after next. And I'm headed for Hawai'i! YAY! ;D It's my and my sisters' first trip the islands, so I'm ultra-excited right now. I'll probably have some limited Internet access while I'm there, too, so I might pop in here or there in the meantime. Best wishes to everyone! ~Light Rises

And I'm sorry to hear about those bombings. It's simply terrible and, as your Prime Minister Blair described it. . ."barbaric". My thoughts and prayers go out to all you guys in London. You're one of America's best friends. *hugz* Pretty much sums up my thoughts, too. I've been thinking of everyone over there since this happened. *also hugs* Even so, I'm still VERY pleased that you won the bid for the 2012 Olympics. *nods* It is sad, huh? What people say about Americans forgetting these things too easily -- lapsing back into that same attitude of "it could NEVER happen to US!" -- is so true, it's downright scary. It's just that sort of complacency that partly got us into trouble in the first place, IMO. *shakes head* ~Light Rises

Jeez. *shakes head* Well, in any case, I also wish you a happy birthday (birthdays shouldn't have to stop being something special once you get older, but that's just my warped opinion). You're very close to my older sister's birthday (which is August 4), so that'll hopefully remind me for now on of just when YOUR birthday falls (I can be awful when it comes to remembering birthday, anniversary, etc. dates). Hmm...lemme see if I can come up with a little something for you during the 5-hour flight later today. It might not be spending cash or the reptile show, but I hope it'll at least cheer things up somewhat. ~Light Rises

Certainly sounds like a fun ( and educational! ;D ) vacation, although it's too bad it had to be cut short (it's always worse when things like that are short-circuited due to illness). I hope your mom and brother are feeling better now. ~Light Rises
