Well, I work with several African-Americans and seldom even think about it (except at times like now). If Monster World is a warped version of ours, I guess reptiloids could be the discriminated minority who are finally getting equal rights, if not equal treatment. Come to think of it, maybe THAT was why Celia was even considering cutting her "hair", to "pass" as a non-reptiloid. I just did not pick up on it. Thanks again, pitbullady.

Yeah, that's a very good point. I personally, have always felt that there was specism against Randall simply because, firstly, as far as we're shown in the film, lizard monsters are very rare. Also, Mike does call him 'Lizard Boy', and I bet you that if Randall made some kind of quip about Mike's single eye, everyone would make a big thing about it. And even the way Fungus treats Randall, sometimes, seems a bit...It's as though Fungus treats Randall like he's stupid- like when Fungus says 'Oh, huzzah!' after Randall proved he had got the child; it was obvious that Fungus was doubting of Randall's abilities.

Talking about slitherers, isn't Ms. Flint one? I'm pretty sure I saw her slithering in one scene.

Uhm...As far as I can remember, the only scene we see her in is right at the beginning, in the Simulation room, and I don't remember seeing the lower half of her body then.

If I recall, Flint has tentacles.

Come to think of it, another example of anti-reptilism may be that Randall is the only one on the scoreboard identified by his first name.

Roz of course is a sltherer, though of the slug rather than the snake variety. I just rewatched the movie and it is hard to tell...Flint seems to use one tentacle something like a sidewinder, but the views are so bad I can't tell for sure. Maybe if someone has screenshots...best would be when she moves aside when Watermoose barges in, I think.

Well the score board MAY do that because Randall wasn't the only Boggs to work at Monsters Inc.
Roz is a slug and that's more of a....sliding type of thing. Yeah if I recall Flint has four tentacles she uses for walking.

She does not have scales, or any other reptile-like characteristics. Roz is basically a giant slug, and slugs don't slither; they just slide along on a trail of their own mucous. There are also quite a few other slug-like monsters there, including Juan Chalubie(sp.?), the janitor who is seen mopping the floor, only to mess it up again with his own slime trail! pitbulllady
