I'm sure Johnny is going to be an interesting character but based on the fact that he probably is someone who negatively impacts Randall, I can't like him very much.
Anyway....prestige.....yes I can see what you are saying lizardgirl.
One of my childhood friends is friends with the youngest son of a REALLY prestigious and famous family where I live.....and it does affect them when their family is in the news and publicly known. It's like they have higher standards that are expected of them, and if you fail at something, it will be more in the spotlight than someone who isn't from a famous family.

Actually, about prestigious/famous families... I think Johnny and Sullivan go two different ways... Johnny doesn't seem the least worried about reputation...his grades are high, his scaring potential is great...I think he honestly doesn't have much to worry about, aside from getting into the real world. In college, he's the master. He has his pet-crew and can break in new members like *snap* that. In college, he is king. But OUTSIDE it....well...that's probably a different story. Sullivan.....well I can't really spoil that.

Haha, don't get me wrong, I don't like him at all- in fact, I know a fair few people like him, and they're really not nice beyond the initial smarmy charm...But seeing as we're fans of a character that traditionally isn't supposed to be liked I always feel hypocritical immediately writing off another character (even if he is someone who screws Randall over!) And yeah, exactly, it must be very tough to be in the spotlight like that!

Sullivan.....well I can't really spoil that. Of course this is all very open to interpretation, but I do get the feeling that the way Johnny treats people might be to do with how his family have always told him he can treat people. If you have everyone telling you all of your life how much better you are than everyone else, I can see how someone would start believing it- and would start acting like it (especially at college-age, where even 'normal' guys can very often be arrogant, haha). I agree though that Sulley and Johnny seem to have to deal with it in a different way, though. Sulley's arrogance seems to stem more from self-doubt, whilst Johnny's is more 'true' arrogance, from being brought up to be arrogant (again, just my interpretation and opinion, and I might be totally wrong- we'll see when MU comes out, though they might not even go into much depth with Johnny in which case it will always be open to interpretation!)

Although we don't see Johnny's family, to my knowledge...yeah. Most people are influenced by others. I'm not saying Johnny was born this way...he just grew up under that sort of tutelage. While he may have had his doubts before, to me, it seems like he's adjusted and enjoying the power that comes with the position he was tempered into.
I guess the difference with Randall is that he didn't grow up that way. He tried to stick with good morals and try to be a nice guy. He had his doubts, sure, but he tried to please, not control. But...he was molded...

According to an interview with the filmmakers about the "Art of..." book, Johnny IS worried about his reputation and success, which is why he treats anyone who threatens it so badly. pitbulllady

Well, here's the final trailer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBzPioph8CIWe really don't see any more of Randall aside from a different angle when he's sitting next to Mike in the lecture theatre, and there's also a shot of him in that flashcard scene with Mike, but we don't hear him say anything and they didn't show him disappearing again (although they did reuse a lot of other stuff they've shown in other trailers so I was surprised at there being almost less Randall in this one). But, hey ho, that's it I guess until the movie actually comes out!

Then at least, PBL, Johnny is further down the rabbit hole than Sullivan is. --- Didn't we hear "final" trailer before? Hehehe. And yeah, that first bit of Randall warrants itself as a new shot. Not sure...what his expression is in relation to Sullivan's arrival. But, due to the motion of his hands, that seem to come from a heavy breath, he wasn't expecting the jerkwad to come in roaring like a tanker on the highway. Maybe he's gulping actually...fits his nervous demeanor.
Chet saying "your my hero"...it would be nice if that was for Ran, but I get the feeling it's to Johnny.
At 1:20 we see Johnny and the RORs...don't think I see Randall though.
1:38...look at that face! A nice, clear shot of Randall (Randy ^0^) being helpful and with a big smile on his face. LG...that's something to put in the you-know-what ^_-

Considering the bug guy is also cheering...I dunno. Doubt Johnny would EVER allow ANYONE on his team to cheer for the opposition.

Not sure...public display of that is something he does. Considering he doesn't do it to Chet in the crowd when talking to Sullivan the first time....and he may have done it when Randall was with them in a less populated area...
