www.youtube.com/watch?v=6puNScm5PEcPitbulllady already knows about this...but YEAH Randall is here. And take a look at him. In the scare games yet obviously showing that hesitation and uncomfortably with crowds, but still giving a wave. Hanging in there but... Meek, there's the word I was looking for. Ok now this is after spending some time in the ROR fraternity...isn't till later that they get their fangs into him...but seems he's still that geeky, unsure self of his. SO out of place with these guys...maybe he notices...but too afraid to get out now. Maybe that's another thing...by the time he realized things weren't good for him, he was already in the scare games...he couldn't back out. He was part of the team. Without him, ROR could NOT compete...backing out...he would certainly face their wrath. Now that I think about it...the first wave we saw (it was in the morning, he was off to the side, and it was a quick wave)...was probably during the Maze scare game. Not sure on my chronological...but I think the tunnel run (this one) is the FIRST Scare Game. Which makes sense with the fraternity introduction. What this means is, when we see Randall here...he partly realizes....a CROWD...is CHEERING...for HIM. Not specifically, but I have a guess that Randall never had people CHEERING for him before. It was a new experience. It was for the fraternity, yes, but due to his nature...the feeling of being acknowledged and cheered on was just...confusing at first...but then comforting.

Alright, you got me with the first one...where IS he? I have watched it over and over and I still can't find Randall in the "Scare Maze/Don't Scare the Teen" clip! That second one, though...you pretty much summed it up already. Randall looks like he'd rather be undergoing root canal surgery without any Novocaine in that clip, at least until the crowd starts cheering, and we get that little smile and wave. It's like you said, it's such a big deal to be a part of something where he actually gets approval, even if it's not for HIM, per se. I do indeed think that otherwise, he was not happy in ROR, but knew that it was too late to back out. ROR was like a gang, seriously; the only way out was if THEY kicked you out. Everything was done on Johnny's terms. Poor Randall reminds me of Roxanne Ritchi's line in "Megamind": "He's just not used to positive feedback".

To be honest, I DON'T know if he's there. But considering the teams are competing, figured if somebody spotted him (I just glanced), well then...there it is.
*nods* If you lock on to him, he's glancing around as if thinking. "Are...are they really...cheering for me? Oh...crap...I better...better do something. Just...just wave! That's it...wave...don't want to be too eager."
And an afterthought. "Don't go overboard...I cheer too loud and Johnny might hit me for standing in his light. Well...lack of it."
