I have the flu. I had to go to the ER late last night with what I assumed was an ongoing severe asthma attack, only to find out that it was caused by influenza. I'd had the flu shot back in December, but the strain of virus in the vaccine turned out NOT to be the same one that is going around, so now I got it. I had to go plunk down $120.00 for a nebulizer(breathing machine)because my stupid insurance company(where the HECK is Bob Parr when I need him-forget Super strength, I need somebody with integrity to get this insurance mess taken care of!)won't pay for it, for some untold reason. The only plus side is I get to start my Spring Break a week early, but I know I'm gonna catch you-know-what when I do return, since this doesn't sit well with either of my two Principals. pitbulllady

Well, yeah, the Flu IS dangerous, especially to people like myself, who already have chronic health issues. I have diabetes AND asthma, so I was one of the "high-risk" individuals who got the flu shot this past fall. There was a national shortage, remember? Only high-risk people got the shots because there just wasn't enough to go around. As it turned out, though, they cannot predict which particular strain of virus will go around(there are hundreds, perhaps thousands), so the strain all us "high-riskers" got was NOT the one that's making its rounds, ergo I got the flu anyway. I probably would be a lot worse if I HADN'T gotten the shot, though, but I'm pretty darn miserable as it is. The worse part is not being able to breath normally, especially if I lie down. I breath fairly OK if I sit up and lean forward a bit, but I can't SLEEP like that. No, wait...the VERY worst part is gonna be when I get the hospital bill; already today alone I've had to spend well over $200.00 in medicine and medical equipment, and that's WITH insurance!

That is very worrysome...keep doing everything you can to take care of yourself, try not to worry about the bill, and we'll keep you in our thoughts.

I'll try to put my cure spells to the test...
My luck spell got my mom 55 dollars today, which we found coming out of Robots. So hopefully maybe I can move on to it....

Wow.
And good luck! My Wicca book has a bunch of really impractical spells that involve certain plants and objects that I don't have...items coming from the person intended for the spell and such...I could still try though, if need be.

Heh heh.... Good Mirage..... I'm an Adept...perhaps I could teach you a few things... But later...I have to concentrate on helping Pitbulllady as best I can. Yet again, I'm serious.... Magic can be a powerful weapon in any situation....

Anyway I'll try...

Oh, my... You can bet I'll be sending my prayers and best wishes to you. I have several family members who have chronic health problems too, and who had to deal with that whole flu shot debacle, so I have an idea of what that's gotta feel like. And yeah, that whole "pick-a-flu-strain-that-we-hope-will-protect-everyone-for-the-season" method is a pretty imperfect science, but what can ya do? The best advice I can give you is to take it easy, get as much rest as possible...and like Mirage suggested, try not to worry about that bill for now. Feel free to hang out here with us whenever you feel up to it (I'm on Spring Break now, so I should be checking in here much more often this week ). Take care, and I'm sure we'll all be keeping you in our thoughts. ~Light Rises

Well I searched my book and found some protection spells....
I'm unsure if I can stop the flu....but I think I could have prevented it from getting worse.... I just hope it worked....still working on them.... It's a veil so I don't think it's cure....hope it's cure...
