Just thought I'd make a separate thread in case anyone didn't want to see these, or wanted to watch the trailer first before looking at the particular screenshots. I've boosted the images a bit since they look a little dark in the trailer. At this point, even though it looks like he's looking at that piece of paper he's holding, he's actually sneering a little at the fact that Sulley just walked by and dropped a bunch of books in front of them. I love the fact that the second bit of actual footage we see of Randall in MU is him holding a tray of cupcakes...Which seem to have hearts on them!

Thought I might as well also add the original poster we saw of Randall for comparison's sake.

Wow, he looks...strange in that first pic....but better in the second one. - You know...quick thought for the moment. Given that Wazowski's bed is right there (in the second pic), and in the promo, it's a bunk bed for when he's with Sullivan.... Here's the thought.... What if, BEFORE Wazowski and Sullivan got kicked out of the scareing program, Wazowski was RANDALL'S roommate. In that, while THEY are out of the program, Randall's still IN it...
(More analysis to come...) (Also, thanks for the screenshot bits posted so fast)

Scratch that, watched the bit where Sullivan is shown to be the roommate.

(More analysis to come...) (Also, thanks for the screenshot bits posted so fast) Yeah, I don't know if it's the angle but I'm getting a massive lazy eye vibe in the first pic- his left eye (our right) looks much more turned inwards than the left- perhaps explaining why he sometimes wears glasses? But it probably is just a case of the angle/timing of the shot, and I'm probably over-analysing it, haha. I think he looks quite cute in that first shot, though. He looks SO uneasy, SO timid...And he clearly doesn't know how to react to Sulley's 'bullying'. Yes, the bed thing is interesting...Maybe Randall's part of the key in terms of them getting back into the programme? Maybe he helped them but they screwed him over afterwards? Probably a bit too straightforward but just thinking out loud. Also a nice few bits and bobs in the second image: notice Little Mikey to Randall's left, and a poster on the wall near Mike which has some of his scaring idols doing the 'walk' onto the Scarefloor that we see in MI.

Looks more like his mouth is unaligned or something...then again...guess we haven't seen him with THAT sort of face so...
Ahh yes the "drive-by" dump books...looks like Randall was concentrating on whatever he was looking at and then noticed what happened. Maybe that was the start of their relationship at the time (Wazowski and Randall's)?
I actually have a new sig I'm going to try over at Pixar Planet that gives a little guess to that.
Wonder if Fangs is on that poster...and yes Little Mikey hm hm, wonder if Randall ever comments on that. ========== For the SECOND pic...Wazowski seemed to start in saying "I'm going to Scare circles are you this year". Now...is that an "over-dub" toward Sullivan or IS it toward Randall? Perhaps their rivalry was tame at one point, then grew. At first a healthy rivalry then (through Randall's difficulty and Wazowski not becoming a scarer), it got worse later. ========== Oh...CRUD...I was right about the door... Man, I had thought the university would in fact think such a task on campus grounds would be dangerous. But no, I was right...they have an active door...and Sullivan got involved...*folds arms* then again...my thoughts had leaned toward it being Randall...

I've watched the trailer quite a few times and I'm pretty certain that the scaring circles thing that Mike says is to Sulley and not to Randall (though they've tried to match it to Mike's mouth movements at that point just to seem like he's saying it there and then).

That's what I meant by "over-dub". I'll have to study a bit more myself, but for now I'll take your word on it. If it's true, then that's good, means that whatever Randall and Wazowski have at this time isn't TOO much of a rivalry.... Hmm...well we KNOW Wazowski's not a scarer...though he'll go to lengths to prove that...so far as in to break into a secure part of the college (or Fear Tech's college, the rival college), and activate a LIVE DOOR. His desire is above obsession, it's dangerous. Now what would this mean for Randall? Was he a helping hand to Wazowski through Sullivan's beef with him? And if so...could Wazowski's obsession with trying to be a scarer get Randall in trouble?

I just posted in the other thread, but basically I really do think that Mike and Randall started off as friends. Interesting idea that Randall might have been an accomplice to Mike in all of this...And if it did get Randall in trouble, well, that would definitely be enough to pee him off. Hmm.

No no, no sorry needed. Just wanted to say I did know what you meant.
Well maybe at this time Randall sees a common-ground with Wazowski. I mean obviously Sullivan will hate Wazowski in this...and due to what we've seen thus far, Randall MAY in fact get hit in the crossover. *folds arms* Now...one interesting thing is we don't see Randall with the Oogma's...and you'd think if him and Wazowski were buds, he'd be around in those scenes (I'll have to look again). SO, maybe we see Randall in the beginning, but then we don't for a while...OR he's somewhere else.
While Randall MAY have his blending ability now...well...I'll hang that for the moment.

Little late to the party, but yeah, I definitely get the impression that Mike and Randall were buds at some point, or at least, that they were on friendly terms. Sulley somehow managed to drive a wedge between them, which is sad. It's too bad that Sulley was such a jerk, that by the time he grows a brain and patches things up with Mike, Randall gets left out of the game completely.
Jees, but Randall's colors are gorgeous here, so vibrant! You realize that in the original movie, as an adult, his colors are actually dull by comparison, and not only that, but he is missing all those scars that we've discussed and debated(which some people claim aren't there). It goes to show just what hell he must have been going through, poor guy. And those cupcakes... a guy who can COOK! Man, oh, man, what I would not give to be able to land THAT catch!

Don't feel bad about that, I couldn't get the vid when I first saw the link. Better to be late to a party than to be frustrated getting through the gate.
*folds arms* Yeah...THOUGH...it might be Wazowski's fault. We've seen that while Randall has distaste for Sullivan, Wazowski is the one always taking shots at Randall.... I've know it has something to do with Wazowski NOT getting to be a scarer and Randall IS...
Huh...maybe....*looks up* Maybe...Randall knew about the active door, or maybe told in confidence, at Fear Tech or the University...and in Wazowski's desperation to BE a scarer, Randall relented in telling him about it (or quite dumbly let it slip when trying to cheer him up)...and the result was, naturally, something that ended up with Wazowski NOT becoming a scarer and probably getting in a load of trouble...and he blames Randall for it.
As a guy, and a friend of his, I find it weird saying this...but yeah, Ran looks awesome there. *gags* RANDALL COOK THOSE? With little HEARTS? Come now...he MAY be able to cook, but him and heart cupcakes?
(In addition...for some reason I get "bake sale" for those cupcakes...and strangely, due to the hearts...I'm strangely getting...Celia? No no...it's way too early in the film for that...)

I'm not sure if the red things on the cupcakes are hearts...can't see them well enough to tell from that angle, so they could be something else. I do get the impression that Randall baked 'em, though, nothing wrong with that, since my dad was always the cook in the family around here.
Anyone notice the lamps on Mike's desk? Looks like he stole those from Megamind, lol, with the spikes and all.
Remember that pencil pic I did WAAAAAY back, to answer the question as to how Randall would sit in a chair? I was right! His front pair of legs dangle over the edge of the chair like a human's, but the rear pair is pulled up next to his body more like a dog's when it's sitting. Love his face there, with that "WTF" look of disapproval at Sulley being an a$$, while the lower hands show so much uncertainty. Randall clearly has no idea how to deal with people being jerks. He seems to want to get riled and give the walking fur rug a piece of his mind, but at the same time he seems a bit intimidated, too.

Yeah I'm questioning the top bits too...they DO seem like hearts but...yeah...have to take a closer look. *rubs temple* Maybe Randall had some baking talent...guess he lost it when he probably became fast-foody later on.
Got the movie, might check that ref myself hehehe.
I remember that, agreed with it, both on the money heh heh. I'm not sure, but he seems to be squinting there a little...maybe THAT'S why he looks so strange. Maybe he DOES want to do something, but can't...and cause he hasn't done that kind of thing, his face is a little weird (unsure HOW to express himself at the moment).
Also, a positive thing. Randall's bits with Wazowski...and Sullivan's with ROR...seem to indicate Randall is more likely not in a negative role here.

Yeah, I get the feeling he baked them too, though not sure for what purpose...RB, your suggestion of a bake sale seems pretty feasible. And PBL, I couldn't have put it better concerning Randall's expression in that first picture. Guess he learns how to give someone a piece of his mind later on, haha. Anyway, some more shots from the new clip: First off, we've got Randall's bed and lovely Winds of Change poster on the right hand side there. All I can make out from the smaller writing under the poster is 'Shhh...do you hear - ' so it seems as though it's probably, in full, 'Shhh...do you hear that?' I'm not sure if there's enough of a chance in the rest of the clip to actually read the whole thing, though. Our first look at some of Randall's lovely luggage in the bottom right hand corner there. Randall's really quite empty desk on the left in comparison to Mike's cluttered one on the right (you see more of Randall's desk a second earlier but this was the best shot for comparison). More of Randall's sexy luggage. It seems like the emphasis is on his neatness but at the same time (from my experience anyway) people who have co-ordinated luggage tend to be, well, quite wealthy. But Randall certainly never came across as middle class or anything like that in MI- quite the opposite, in fact. Just seems strange for him to be able to afford such prim and proper luggage. And finally OMG RANDALL SLIPPERS. I'm not sure how normal it is in the monster world to have slippers which are basically MINI VERSIONS OF YOURSELF but I approve of Randall's choice nevertheless. You can just make out four of them (two of them in the shadow in between the other two) so this is definitely, definitely Randall's side of the room.
