I just read this today on Jimhillmedia.com. Now, by and large, I disagree with a lot of what Jim says in this article. It is well-known that he does not like John Lasseter, and has been gleefully waiting to see Lasseter direct a flop. Mr. Hill considers Cars to be that "flop", and spares no effort in pointing that out. HOWEVER, a bit over half-way down, it is revealed that Toy Story 3's production has been halted for the time being, both the Pixar version and the completly-defunct Circle Seven version(Eisner's), and that Peter Docter is supposedly talking up a project of his involving monsters. Now to ME, THAT was far more disappointed, in a way, than the box office take for Cars, since it either means that Randall WON'T be in the sequel and we will have to assume he's dead, OR that he will be, but in the same role(Or worse)as in the original. Anyway, here's the link: jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hill/archive/2006/06/20/3138.aspxpitbulllady

I might be a little naive in this...but how the heck would this hurt Ran's chances?

Wasn't Doctor the one who worked on the first one....that might be why.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing...Either way, the possibility of an MI2 seems to have increased considerably, especially with the halting of Toy Stoy 3.

Well...if they are halting the project and working on Monsters Inc. The MERE MENTION of Monsters Inc., rather than the other films, would lead us to belive that Pixar is paying attention to us.

Well, perhaps, though it's been in planning stages for quite some time, we can't really be sure.

And if you look at their options, Monsters, Inc. is definitely a forerunner in the choices that Pixar has.

Well I SUPPOSE that's a possibility, but they haven't said anything, so who can say.

The people mention in the article ^_^
But IF they are paying attention, they have to be, then they KNOW we won't like Ran NOT being shown in the wrong light. NOT being in the film would be another problem though...

What I meant was, that Monsters, Inc. 2 is a likely sequel as, if you compare it to the other Pixar films, it probably has the most potentional to be one.

Well supposedly. Though Pete DID say it was unlikely before, that they needed a "killer" idea.
First part? They said "only the people in "some town" know". It's in the article.
