I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I just want to go back over this, as when I saw MI again yesterday, the line from Roz which goes 'none of this ever happened', or something like that, got me thinking again.
I mean, I know Roz is probably very powerful in Monstropolis, but can they really just delete Randall from their files? Maybe it's more possible with him because he's a lizard monster, but wouldn't deleting someone from existence have some kind of implication?

Sure they can delete him from their files; businesses do this all the time with records of employees who no longer work there. HOWEVER, National/government affiliated organizations, like whatever version of the IRS and Social Security existing in the Monster World would still have records of Randall's taxes, etc. unless her influence extended to them also. Anyone he still owed money to, like credit card companies, would also have a record of his existance.

They can delete his files, and delete his knowledge of existance... but they can't delete the monster's (or human's) that love him!

Well said, Flame!
SMART GUY: Yeah, just because I was dipped in the movie, doesn't mean they can delete everyone who loves me!
OTHER WEASELS: Ahem!
SMART GUY: Oh yeah, I mean, loves us!

They can delete his files, and delete his knowledge of existance... but they can't delete the monster's (or human's) that love him! Though it does appear that not many monsters would have noticed, or cared about the fact that he had suddenly vanished from the face of the earth- they don't mention anything about it near the end of the film, when everything's fast-forwarded to when MI's been changed to collecting laugh power. But, then again, they might not have bothered to mention it just to keep it simpler, and make it seem really final that the 'villain' had been defeated.

Well Pitbulllady thinks that Sullivan is still having some guilty thoughts. But everyone can say that the fact remains that it has been a YEAR and Randall had not even returned...
"Uhh..."
Movie-wise.

Huh, if Sullivan did had any guilty thoughts, he would have gone into the human world and get Randall back. But did he? No!

Huh, if Sullivan did had any guilty thoughts, he would have gone into the human world and get Randall back. But did he? No! I really, SERIOUSLY believe that at the time Mike and Sulley threw Randall into that trailer, they knew EXACTLY where it led to, and what kind of humans would be inside, and that it led to a part of the Human World where humans tend to eat anything with legs that isn't furniture. It would have been part of Mike's JOB, you know, to know about the different doors and the places that they led to and the humans that would be found inside, and when they'd be awake, or whatever, so yeah, he knew perfectly well that that particular door led to a trailer in Louisiana. To put it bluntly, Mike and Sulley INTENDED for Randall to be killed when they threw him inside, and most likely assume that he is in fact, dead. That's why there's been no effort on Sulley's part to find him. Given all the monsters that the factory sends into the Human World each night, and given that NOW those monsters have to establish enough of a rapport with the kids they visit in order to make them laugh, they would at least be able to track Randall's whereabouts via anectdotal reports, IF they wanted to. There's always someBODY who's seen or heard someTHING, who is willing to talk about it, but Sulley has every reason to assume that Randall is dead, so there would be no point in trying to find him. pitbulllady
