but this one takes the cake. Check out this chick's artist comments on her "humanized Randall" portrait found here: crystalizedtwilight.deviantart.com/art/Randall-Boggs-149743005 - "Randall Boggs from Monsters Inc. humanized I figure as a human in the workplace, Randall would fall somewhere between the handsome homosexual employee and the creepy guy that all his other coworkers avoid." She has since removed all comments made by other DA members and disabled commented on the pic, after one person questioned her reasoning as to why she thought Randall would be gay, and her response was essentially that he was PURPLE, therefore he MUST be gay! I posted that I thought only Jr. High school kids still thought like that, and associated colors with sexual orientation, something a child would do, and here is her response to me: "Hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Fortunately, I don't care about yours " And, before anyone here starts going off about me having no right to post her comments here, guess again. If she made a comment available to the public, it's public domain. If she sent it to ME, it becomes MY domain once it enters my inbox, and I can do anything with it that I want to. Her profile claims she's 18, but seriously, do 18-year-olds still believe that color, either what you wear or whatever, proves your sexual orientation? Heck, I teach Jr. High, and only the "slower" and most-immature kids I teach still believe that. pitbulllady

I can't seem to find the art, or the profile of the person who uploaded it, for that matter. Nonetheless, I'll express my comment. That really IS quite dumb, colors having to do with orientation.

Never mind; I found it. Man, that IS kind of creepy. I found your description weird enough, and actually seeing the art actually makes it worse; some horrible cross between emo/goth and office worker (find his tie for proof of the latter). Ironically, the look (aside from the colors) isn't excessively different from the look of my P-9000 OC, which I also view as some sort of psycho, albeit one merely programmed to do what it was told to do, just as this person seems to view Randall.

I was wondering when somebody else would notice this pic. Apparently this person is rather limited in their view and has no idea what they're talking about. Lets take a look at someone else who's purple, or at the least worn purple.....James Brown, godfather of soul. Oh yeah SURE....HE was gay.

I mean, come on, the whole notion that the colors you wear indicate your sexual orientation is the sort of thing that adolescent kids believe in. It's hard to fathom that an 18-year-old would actually believe that. She must have gotten a lot more negative comments about that than mine and the one before it, since she decided(after firing off insults to all of, no doubt)to disable all comments on that pic. pitbulllady

I got a laugh? From YOU? 0_0 Wow...I'm getting better at referrances ^_^
Actually all I know is he's the godfather of soul and appeared in the Tuxedo with Jackie Chan ^0^ So it was like a shot in the dark.
*shakes head* I mean where did that "real men wear pink" come from? It's like these people take that phrase and go "real GAY men wear pink". And you know...probably just a hate thing. Not just on Ran, but HSs in general. I mean I don't know...I don't see a gay guy in the work place, not a stereotype one, hitting on everyone that comes near him. Lets see'em go to Qutonomo Bay and call THOSE people that.... ....Oh right it's closed? Dah well ghosts are in there.

Lets see'em go to Qutonomo Bay and call THOSE people that.... ....Oh right it's closed? Dah well ghosts are in there. No, Guantanimo Bay isn't closed yet, and the closing has been put on indefinte hold due our current Administration's realization of what opponents of the closing had been telling them all along-MOST of the people released from Gitmo just went right back to where they came from and started either killing or plotting to kill Americans once again. The capture of several recent releasees in Yemen within the last couple of weeks showed that these people are still a major threat to the US and our allies. It's really stupid, though, how certain things get associated with being "gay" or "straight" or whatever, even things like the kind of dog you have. I don't know how many times I've had people make references to me being gay because I am a female who happens to like Pit Bulls, but women are supposed to like little fluffy dogs, aren't they? There's this big, gangsta-looking Black dude in the town where I work, whom I pass walking his dogs on the way home from school. His dogs are Standard POODLES. He sure doesn't act like he's real concerned that anyone is going to call him a sissy, either. And you don't know HOW many times I've heard the comment that "real" men don't like cats! But even those seem to pale in comparison to the whole color-as-indicator-of-sexual-orientation thing. That pic is pretty weird, as well. I've never been into this whole point of "humanizing" non-human characters, like Wilt or Randall. I like them for what they are, and never felt any need to turn them into humans for any reasons. I've seen a lot of "Human Wilt" fanart, nearlly all of which portrays him as this scrawny, White teenage boy, not even as an adult who'd be 34 years old now, and almost certainly African-American. The closest I've come to thinking about what Randall would look like as a human is to consider how much he reminds me of W. Axl Rose, lead singer for Guns 'N Roses, both in terms of physical build, eyes and 'tude...and accent(Axl is a native-born Hoosier). But Randall is more attractive as-is to me than any human guy. I certainly don't find him "creepy", nor would I try to avoid him in the workplace; THAT is Mike's assessment, and pretty much anything Wazowski says is true, I'm definitely not inclined to go along with. pitbulllady

I'm gonna quote myself in this in saying that when ANY President is appoint they will NOT do what it good for the people. No. They will instead focus on what THEY wanted to DO as President, despite whatever impact it makes. It's a personal, and poor, choice. Speaking of prision I have something on that....in regards to Randall...
*snickers* Should I make a Paris Hilton referrance with that poodle? ^0^
Though in his days as Top Scarer can imagine Randall trying to pick girl up by the watercooler as a stakeout spot ^0^

Personally, I like the picture, even faved it, but that's not why I'm making this post...*glares (seriously, goths creep you out, what do you think I would be considered?)* appearantly some people do not seem to imagine emo/goths who can be in the workplace...well according to "Goth Craft" by Raven Digitalis there is such a thing... Corporate goths- Corporate goths, also shortened to Corpgoths, must tone down their eccentric wardrobe for work. While it's true that goths look fabulous, practicality cannot be forgotten! Sometimes it's necessary to alter one's appearance for another setting such as work, and there's nothing wrong with this. Some people have no choice but to work a nine-to-five job just to get by. Male Corpgoths often wear a dress shirt and tie and mostly stick to as much basic black clothing as possible in order to feel comfortable. Women often wear the same but may add a skirt or dress shirt depending on preference. Some goths don't mind visually conforming when need be, though it's undoubtedly detested to some degree internally. That is just half of the defintion since it would take up too much time for the whole definition to be posted up...if she thinks that based upon color that he looks gay, fine whatever, the way I see it, I don't view him as gay but since what she believes isn't physically hurting me *shrugs* then big deal...besides there are tons of art that mix Randall with a male character on DA anyway. Just thought of something, at least she's not some obsessive little fangirl who would advertise her little fantasies for everyone to see...Ugh, fangirls truly scare me especially when their fantasies get all X rated...yeah, don't feel like stumbling upon that...

I don't have a problem someone seeing someone as gay even if I don't but... because he's purple? Really?
Plus I disagree that Randall is a creep.
On humanising- sometimes t can be interesting to see what people do with it. Sometimes it looks weird. This pic looks okay for the most part to me, but yeah, the comment is just off.

I actually don't mind humanizing either, like you said mentalguru, sometimes it can be interesting...I have seen maybe a tiny few others give it a shot at humanizing the character of Randall, she actually did a pretty good job...I honestly believe that if Randall was a human, this would be what he would look like...while I will admit that I like the character, I'm afraid that I don't find him attractive and this human pic of him does make him look pretty good looking to me. The only strange thing about it is the comment, that's all.

Also in case anyone is wondering, I had left a comment about her art and how I liked it on her profile, turns out that she is also a Randall fan! ;D

I read this once in my stalking days and *scratches neck* purple really is my favorite color. The board is purple. Some flowers are purple. VEINS are purple. My father, who is the most famous person in my area, wore purple sometime in his life. For StarClan's sake,(I hate takeing the Lord's name in vain, so I'll start saying that now)Sully has purple spots on him as well, and kirbys come in different colors, with purple in there as well. If she thinks purple is a gay color *runs tounge over teeth* then she has another think coming.

I can't believe this got resurrected but I think this topic is left 4 dead here...also, the girl's pic in question IS the most popular picture under search for Randall Boggs fanart, even beating out another pic that had been top popular pic for YEARS! As for the color purple being a gay color...did a search online...the color purple IS considered a pride color for those who are gay and lesbian so if anyone is wondering what she meant by that...now you know.

WHAT?!°.° How can anyone judge others by their color? It's a stupid thing! (And in my opinion,is something racial.)If someone wears purple or pink, that doesn't mean he's gay....don't you think?
