*shakes head* We have no option in demanding anything. And even if we did, the comics are essentially finished, only awaiting their release. That's one of the things I figured. But that doesn't necessarily mean that Pixar itself is NOT going to note these inaccuracies. Heck, for all we know, Pixar just gave an extremely vague idea of the story to Boom! and let them handle the rest, if Pixar even WAS directly involved in the writing, that is. Don't get me wrong; I am shocked at the twist of events myself. It's just that, maybe, just maybe, Pixar MIGHT actually do something about our concerns. Everyone keep writing letters, though, just to be on the safe side.

Pixar has their own agenda....at the very least the sequel will be given a 2013 release. Four or so more years. Allot can happen. *folds arms* I'm curious as to if Pixar joined BOOM! for just one collection of comics for each film...

Pixar has their own agenda....at the very least the sequel will be given a 2013 release. Four or so more years. Allot can happen. And what can happen MIGHT be in our favor, even if they DON'T read our letters. This is even keeping in mind that the scripts are finished in the early stages, which, unfortunately, might be completed by now. Yeah, something tells me the script IS at least close to being finalized. IMDB, as proof, has had the status listed as "In Development" for a few months now. Still, if there's some sort of postponement for the movie's release date (it's possible; you said yourself that it's years away), at least we'll know they listened to us. But this will only be possible by the letters (as in, the postponement, not necessarily Randall being evil or not). So, again, forward as much media related to the campaign as you all can, especially my two Randall videos, to as many people as you can. I can't seem to stress it strongly enough; my "Not Evil" video is only barely above 100 views in two whole weeks, much of the views being caused ONLY by ME emailing the videos, and the Campaign video has little more than half that! So, essentially, EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET ACTIVE!! Pitbulllady has already said that three (and, as of now, four when including mentalguru) people spreading the word is FAR from enough! DinoGirl, you write excellent fanfictions, maybe you could also post up writing, not to mention I heard you once had a video account on YouTube. Everyone who views our posts, at the very LEAST, please forward our campaign material. EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET ACTIVE IF WE WANT TO BE CERTAIN THAT RANDALL WILL BE REDEEMED!!

Exactly.
IMDB is an official site...but taking to heart it's status on films is flimsy. Pixar has to work on Cars 2, Bear and the Bow, and Newt. As big as Pixar is, I have thoughts that they can only work on two films at first...one being the one to be released in the year, and the next one. Brief "brainstorming" sessions for other films may be done, but as of yet it depends on how their next films will play out.
*looks up* That is becaus it has been 8 years since the film, and most people hardly ever look for such things.

Brief "brainstorming" sessions for other films may be done, but as of yet it depends on how their next films will play out. *looks up* That is becaus it has been 8 years since the film, and most people hardly ever look for such things. ...Well, for Pixar's progress, I HAVE noticed that TV shows (which happen to include one Nicktoon based off of Madagascar, which started out as a feature film) take a mere week to make, probably excluding the scripts. Four half-hour-long episodes (each of which, technically, are about 23 minutes) equal roughly the average length of a full-length movie, and then....I think you can see what I'm getting at. Then again, TV networks (and possibly Dreamworks as well) have completely different procedures, not to mention simpler details to their media. As for how few views my videos have gotten, I can understand that reasoning for the person who somehow comes across the video by mistake. Not to be pushy, however, but MANY of us here know about the videos, and yet I seem to be one of the few people who ARE forwarding it. This isn't even limited to my videos. Look at the other media that shows the number of views, such as pitbulllady's "Help Randall" art (that count is misleading, though; many of the views were made by me). Excluding what might be over a hundred views by me, the fact that that art has over 500 other views, to me, is ONLY due to the fact that some people HAVE favorited it, and those views are most likely at a much lower rate now, considering that the art is "gathering dust" in their favorites collections. That, and it's been over the course of what is almost three months now. So, please, everyone who hasn't done much, do something to help the cause!

Of course the thing about Madagasscar's show is the fact that the Zoo and the characters (at least most of them) were already created. So that state of development was already completed. And the development work of a show to a movie aren't exact.
Few people revist the board. Besides it takes time. Remember....patience.

I didn't think it dire before-hand. Which is why I took the time to anaylze the first comic. And that's something else to tail on Boo. The end of the film takes place a year after the events, and so far, everything well. And we KNOW that Sullivan had NO contact with Boo because the door was shattered, repaired by Wazowski. Now physically she wouldn't be COMPLETELY different. Now from how Wazowski handles Boo, it's safe to say Sullivan visits her and hardly (or never) has brought her into the Factory, despite him being CEO. At least one good point is the fact that this Randall NEVER mentioned Boo at all. Which is drastically strange. If Pixar intended for him to be shown that way, SURELY the way to do is for him not to focus on the heroes, but the "little girl". Come to think of it, Boo herself, in the comics, is problematic. We KNOW from the movie that the "second ending"(which always seemed forced and "tacked-on" to me), in which Sulley goes to see Boo again after Mike rebuilds her door, took place one year after the main events of the movie. During the movie, Boo was more or less 2 1/2 years old, which would have meant she was 3 1/2 at the time that Sulley came to visit her again. Now, for us older people, one year won't make that big a difference in our looks, usually, but for a kid that age, a year makes a HUGE difference in how they look, how they talk, etc. Sulley seemed pretty happy with his position of CEO at the end of the movie, yet in the comic, he's been in that position long enough to have grown jaded with it, and he's apparently been visiting Boo(and bringing her back with him)for some time, yet Boo hasn't changed one bit. She is still a 2 1/2 year-old toddler, who is the same size, and can't talk any better, than she did in the movie. This was always something that bugged me in tv sitcoms, soap operas and other tv series-kids that never grow up or age. I do hope that Pixar isn't going to go that route with Boo, and have her still a little toddler when the sequel is released, even though this is apparently what BOOM is doing! Not only are they screwing up by turning Randall into a kiddie toon Bad Guy, but are apparently also making Boo one of those perpetual toddlers that never grow or change. Talk about unoriginal! And yes, Mentalguru, I understand your frustration with the many M.I. fans who feel that the movie was complete, that all the loose ends were tied up, hence their not wanting a sequel. I have NEVER felt that the movie was complete, and the reason, of course, is Randall, and to some extent, Sulley. We were left hanging as to what happened to Randall, not knowing if he lived or died, and were also left hanging as to whether anyone, Sulley especially, would ever acknowledge HIS wrong-doing. pitbulllady pitbulllady

And the development work of a show to a movie aren't exact. Few people revist the board. Besides it takes time. Remember....patience. That was another point I forgot about regarding Madagascar. However, there HAVE been CGI shows that WERE completely original, don't remember names, though. I'm also aware that it's not exact proportions, but they often do have similar amounts of effort. I wasn't necessarily limiting my venting to this board (though I AM putting an emphasis on the nonmembers), but I appreciate your trying to help. It's just...some of the people who DO still go here and post just aren't doing much. Additionally, there are many people who DO look at the things and DON'T write, which probably happened with at least MOST of the people I forwarded my videos to. THAT is why I'm emphasizing that we get as many people who remember the movie to know about this as possible: not all who hear about it are going to do anything. Heck, most of THOSE people will just say that "it's just a movie," possibly accompanied by eye-rolls. Even worse, some ARE fans, but just don't understand what's going on, blindly putting their faith in a company that might betray them! Thus, everyone who remembers the movie NEEDS to know about the Randall fanbase and the campaign as well if we're going to get a sufficient number of voices to Pixar.

At the time as CEO, at least at the start, Sullivan was more in the...shall we say "experimental" phase, as he was headlining the Laugh Industry's start. As such he was given some lead-way, most of which he shouldn't have though lets face it he shouldn't have gotten the CEO position either, because of it. At the time of these comics, he actually was put into actually FACING his role as CEO without that "coat of protection". Needless to say, he can't handle it.
One thing to wonder is that Sullivan notes that he hasn't seen Boo in.....I think it was three months. So perhaps there was something that happened then or in that time.... *laughs* I think we all have an understanding of that nurse from Misery now about "fairness" in film hehehe.
I'm surprised, then again halfly, that nobody has mention Wazowski and Celia. They have a sub-plot themselves of whether they'd actually have a marriage relationship and, farbid, children.

Jimmy Neutron springs to mind. Though I recall it was also a film before a series. But evidently the show has extended to include much more, even television films as well with new locations.
*chuckles* One of my latest works I just recently completed that does have Randall in it has gotten many many views, but few comments. It happens.

It happens. At one point, I actually thought of Jimmy Neutron myself! ;D Not that I like that show, though. I can understand only a few comments; very few people who view things online actually write about it. pitbulllady: Boo's "aging issues" were exactly what I was thinking. As for the people who view the movie as complete, Pixar did not. Let's not forget that they are making a sequel, which obviously means THEY felt it was incomplete. What you brought up for the movie being incomplete are also the ONLY reasons I can think of that anyone would view it as incomplete, so, however slim the chances are, there's a chance that Pixar is thinking somewhere along the lines we are, unless of course they abandon their tradition of "story first" completely. The story abandonment idea, though I admit that there's a higher chance of that, actually isn't THAT certain in regards to Pixar; it was Boom! Comics who wrote these, not Pixar. Pixar endorsing them may have just meant that they gave them a VERY broad story idea and let Boom! handle the rest. And even if they WERE more closely involved with the writing, it seems most people are NOT going to read it, based on the "release date" on Amazon as an example, so they might just abandon the comics and start post-first-movie ideas all over again with the movie sequel. After all, Randall DID have a good time in "Scream Arena".

There were portions of the show I liked, and some had good writing (was a little surprised of them putting Jimmy Neutron and Timmy Turner in a couple films together), but overall it was just a project.
*nods* Exactly. Though the fact that they view is at least some plus.
*shakes head* It is indeed strange...afterall I've looked at Boo's file myself...and seems to claim she's actually 4 years old. They either felt it was incomplete, we bugged them enough to make it, or it was planned all along.
Scream Arena and Scream Team are the end and beginning respectively. Randall was Sullivan, and Wazowski's, trainer...and in the end Randall is back at M.I....and working there again. Of course it can be obvious what he becomes, though I'll clear that up with one of my projects.

Of course it can be obvious what he becomes, though I'll clear that up with one of my projects. Which is exactly why I brought up Scream Arena: Randall has what might be considered a happy ending. Pixar might have just forgotten about it when they gave the licenses to Boom! Comics, and that's assuming Pixar WAS closely involved. In short, there are quite a few assumptions to make; we may never know for certain whether Pixar did intend to abuse Randall in the comics. Hopefully their more nostalgic of employees will remember the games, and tmanzec's letter, if it's read, will certainly help to jog the memories of the others.

Of course, most companies with media-released games usually ignore them unless they bring forth a sizeable paycheck. Scream Arena was usually ignored. Heck, it doesn't even have much info, and I recall no score, on Gamespot.

Haven't looked much into the game myself, just heard about it from you guys. Even so, that was considered "canon" as well. I'm honestly not sure what to believe in the context of Pixar. They seem to have been less abusive with Randall in the past than they are now, especially when considering that the comics are not the only thing we've had to worry about lately; there is that "Ride and Go Seek" in Tokyo as well, where Randall gets compressed into a cube, which somehow is meant to be entertaining, just like being beaten up with the shovel! In all honesty, I feel something seems to have happened to Pixar. Not sure what has changed specifically, it's just, when thinking of the Randall in the past and the Randall in the recent media...
