We had a bit of confrontation here. Whether to spend money solving our own economic troubles rather than using it on Iraq to build their own economy...

Hmm, yeah. I mean, no offence to any Americans, but America has always had pride in being a very 'independent' type of country, sort of...well, I hate to say it, but not really getting involved with the rest of the world, and looking after yourself first, y'know? It's changed a bit recently, though, which is good.

Well....I really consider myself neutral.... Even though born in America, I consider myself neutral from everything....

I do have opinions of things, of course, so I guess I'm not 'neutral' with everything.

Well....I live in America but I don't agree with many of the things they do. Like with Classic movies for instance remember?

It's no surprise, what with the country's short history and all. But at least they're not Switzerland. It's changed a bit recently, though, which is good. Very true.

Man, how did I miss this discussion? I just want to put my two cents in on the original topic - the whole "Randall is/isn't a villain". I think I've talked about this before, but.... Well, my opinion is that Randall is an antagonist - ie, he opposes the protagonists, Sullivan and Wazowski. That's just a simple definition. Antagonists don't have to be "evil", they're just there to create conflict and spark off the plot of a story. Anyway, charities, volunteering, heroism, etc. You were just talking about "One", and how they're trying to get the American government to donate more to third-world countries, right? Well, I applaud them, first of all, and I only wish there was an organization like that in Canada (well, perhaps there is, but I've never heard of it so at the very least they need to publicize their cause more). My country's been applauded wildly as a very generous country (you know, how "we're always donating money to the poor and always sending over those nice peacekeepers" yada yada yada). Truth is, we're a very cheap country - we don't send over nearly as much money (per capita) as the majority of other developped nations do. We donate like, 2.2% of our national budjet towards that stuff. We promised like, a decade ago to raise that to... 7%? Something like that? We actually went down. We're pathetic. Meh, my family's trying to do our part - mum's been subscribing to World Vision for like, fifteen years, we've always done UNICEF at Hallowe'en, and we're supporting a boy in Africa through, again, World Vision (his name's Leperuni. ^_^).

That's the same as calling him evil Beboots. In all definition sakes, an antagonist opposes the "good" of a story, making the antagonist "against" good and therefore "evil".
Well, sometimes, America takes a bit TOO generousity onto other nations. Sure, there are problems there that need to be dealt with, sure, but we still have problems here. And I am NOT trying to be selfish to America here...

I would estimate that given Steve Buscemi's selfless acts of helping out as a firefighter at the site of the World Trade Center, and his devotion to these charities as well as his modesty about not wanting to receive publicity over all these things, really makes him the perfect voice actor for Randall.
Imagine how touched and honored Steve would feel about getting to play Randall as a redemptive hero, after all these years, for a third 'Monsters' film. Imagine the sweet closure of that... getting to tap into the very best of Randall. I think doing so would make the third 'Monsters' movie the most successful installment in the franchise!
I think Steve Buscemi would love it!

That would be a nice "twist", for Steve to play a "good guy" or "heel-face turn" role for once, and he's mentioned wanting to tone down his movie roles now that he's done more animated voice overs and knows that he's making an impression on kids. I don't think he'd have any objection to a pleasant turn of events for Randall, in any case.
