Um... I guess 'hi' everyone. This is my very first venture into an official board- not counting InterNutter because I only lurked- so I'm pretty nervous as you might imagine. ((laughs))
I should probably say something about myself- break the ice and whatnot? Here it goes... ((deep breath))
I'm a huge cartoon fan, especially of some of the quirky, odd-ball stuff like 'Beetlejuice'. All that nineties toonage is still sashed away on tapes somewhere... I like 60s/70s music. I'm also a self-proclaimed geek- the fact I'm sitting here typing in a t-shirt that reads "What part of BWHAHAHA!!! don't you understand?" is a dead giveaway- and a SciFi-fantasy fanatic. Currently obsessed with the fantastic Terry Pratchett and his Discworld series.
Equally obsessed with the TvTropes website, but that's more a case of interesting super-linkage- great place to lose a couple hours XD
And even MORE obsessed with a certain Mr. Dodgson's character, as you might have noticed.
I have a DA page (which you can find in my profile) that I regularly post at and a FF.Net page (which I don't have listed here) that I haven't touched for a while. Now my mostly bad attempts are kept on various desktops and discs... maybe I'll feel brave enough to post them one day.
I have an irrational dislike of the number 8, especially when it's used in in a long number (80, 800, etc) or with the number 2. I don't know why.
Religious affiliation: Pastafarian/Discordian, the latter slightly more.
Eh... and I think that's about it for now
Lovely to be here. =D

Don't be nervous! We don't bite...much. So, what leads you to the Bogg's Board? I'm a fan of some of the rather off-beat characters myself, so make yourself at home.

That was almost very comforting, pitbulllady. XD I found Bogg's Board quite by accident after deciding to 'research' Randall's character a bit more. See, my othro loves Pixar movies, and I came into Monster's Inc about half way through two Boomtimes ago (roughly last Saturday). While they were torturing- I mean, adjusting my braces, I couldn't help but notice the little details that didn't add up about 'villain' Randall. Sure, he's a bit high-strung and a total workaholic, but truly evil? No. He's not. But according to some of the fan reaction I found, it's like they forgot Waternoose was even involved- which is complete smurf. And the perfect hero-makeover on Sulley and Mikey- what? Yes, they were technically the heroes- if you use hero and protagonist interchangeably- but look what they did! THEY were the ones responsible for the whole mess! Look what they did to Randall! I admit, I cheered a bit at that part when I first saw the movie- hey, I was young and stupid- but now that I look back... that's not hero material. Not even close. Realizing this, I had to re-examine the whole movie, start to finish.
With a considerable amount of pity and questions in my hat, I toke to the 'net- first to FanFiction, then to Google, and finally to the experts- here.
Coolio. And thanks for welcomes. Do you prefer Movie-verse or cartoon? I find it interesting how the choice influences perspective of the combined idea.

A lot of us thinking people can see that there is a lot more to Randall than what initially meets the eye, and he is far from being evil. I see him as a bit of a tortured soul, actually, who is battling a lot of inner pain. As Eduardo from "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends"(gawd I miss that show)put it, Randall is just "tightly-wound, emotionally". pitbulllady

For me? I'm pretty much for either ^_^ Cartoons give up that quirky, fun-loving implication of how whacky, easy, and comedic life should be, while Movies show the possiblities of working with what we already have, and what can be ^_^

I never really got into Foster's- a shame because the premise is so fansinating- but Bloo is just so annoying most of the time it's hard to watch. Kinda like if was just Mike without a Sulley to balance him out in Monster's Inc. But it sounds like Eduardo has Randall down-pat. There's a lot going on inside that oddly shaped little head of his and what he really needs is some kind of release to get all the bad stuff out...
Very well put^^ But what I meant to ask was if you enjoyed Beetlejuice the movie or Beetlejuice the animated cartoon series more. Sorry, I just realized I could have worded that better earlier.

Bloo WAS very hard to take at times, and that was because he DID remind me of Mike Wazowski! What is so odd, though, is that I know people who hated Bloo with a passion, because he was so selfish and narcissistic, yet Mike was one of their favorite characters...I mean, what's up with THAT? At least Bloo was no coward; he still "had a pair", if you know what I mean, and didn't run and hide behind one of the bigger characters when confronted with a threat like Mike did, nor did he feel compelled to use anyone else for his personal glory, and rest assured, if someone had published a photo of him with his face blocked, HE would have had sense enough to notice! Poor Wilt was the one who always got the "Mike Wazowski" treatment in photos, due to his height, and he most certainly noticed, too. pitbulllady

Lol, yeah he did poor guy, I remember that show, Fosters is a good show, Wilt wanted his face to on the picture and how to keep moving up and down to find a good spot. The reasons I like Bloo was because he was a jerk that had caring feelings still.

That IS rather odd. The combined egos of them would block out the sun... yet Mikey's the more liked one? Don't make any sense. They both may be stupid, but Bloo can at least drop the 'me, me, ME!' once in a while. Wazowski's a selfish user constantly pumping up his own glory-wagon. And he's always quick to blame someone else- especially Randall- for anything and everything that goes wrong (I wonder if that has anything to due with him (truthfully) telling Wazowski that he wasn't Scarer material).
Poor Wilt. He would be hard to get a good photo of- the curse of being extremely tall and thin, ah?

I never saw Mike as much of a big ego, to me he was just Sullys sidekick to make an audiene laugh, though he had no real proft that Randall was cheating and the first thing he called him was a jerk, hmm.

He is mostly there for slapstick-sidekick, but he does come off as rather full of himself. When he's talking to women- even Roz- Mike's incredibly co cky. When he sees himself- even covered up- on the tv, first thing he does is brag- to Sulley's mom over the phone! And in the infamous Company Play, he is the star, writer, producer, director, and just about every other postion there is. Sorry, but that's quite the ego to me.

Hey Theophilus!
Eh, I like Sulley as well as Randall. But... didn't care for Mike much in terms of personality.
Honestly though? The only character I IMMEDIATELY liked was Boo (She's a really happy and persistent kid and Sulley being scared of her was so funny). Liking Sulley came later on in the viewing when he was playing hide and seek with Boo. Liking Randall came when after the shock of seeing the heroes rewarded when they preformed illegal banishment, I watched the movie a few more times to see if I'd missed anything (before that- all I though was 'cool design and voice' in relation to Randall).
