I just don't get why the head of a company, the 'number one', would position herself in the public eye as such. But perhaps for some reason, the MI in Monstropolis was being watched more than others by the CDA.

One could suggest that since Monsters Inc. has been around for a long time, and that their CEOs were originally large stockholders of it, suspecion might lead them to find out something else. Afterall, they didn't know how high it went...they still don't ^_^

^ Yeah, Fungus most likely was the one who made Roz suspicious, what with his habit of talking before thinking and all... I was about to ask another question, but it escaped me right after I logged in and read about all the bad things that had happened to Randall on another thread. Now the only thing that's going through my head is: "The poor guy..." (I don't know how many times I'm going to repeat this phrase)

On second thought, it might actually be a good thing that I'm not asking any more questions right now... you guys can go ahead and take a well-deserved break from them. XD I'm just going to stay here in my corner and cry over Randall's misfortune some more.

On second thought, it might actually be a good thing that I'm not asking any more questions right now... you guys can go ahead and take a well-deserved break from them. XD I'm just going to stay here in my corner and cry over Randall's misfortune some more. We don't mind, seriously. Questions keep conversations alive, and this forum is about discussions and conversations! Couple of things, not necessarily referring to your questions, specifically, Sympathetic, but on this topic thread in general. One, I STRONGLY got the impression that WAZOWSKI was the main individual that Roz suspected, mainly due to his failure to turn in his paperwork. Roz most likely didn't see him as a mere procrastinator, since Mike did take "putting things off 'till later" to the extreme, but rather figured that he had something to hide. The fact that he's a habitual liar would only add to that suspicion, and in her position, Roz probably can spot a lie a mile away, and being around Wazowski, that means she would be spotting 'em on a regular day-to-day basis! Two, the presence of the CDA would not have had anything to do with the company's stock performance or other finance issues, since CDA stands for "Child Detection Agency", and their primary, if not ONLY, concern is the presence of humans, children especially, or Human-World materials that could be "contaminated", in the Monster World. In this respect, they are comparable to our US Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Homeland Security, combined. The latter maintains close scrutiny over power plants here in the US, especially nuclear power plants, since these are prime targets for terrorists, both foreign and domestic, and they do keep undercover agents employed at these facilities, just as the CDA did in the movie. The EPA also has agents which stake out power plants, and the Nuclear Power Commission has their own additional agents at nuclear plants, like the one near my home. Other agencies would oversee financial matters, and would not be connected to the others. The same would most likely hold true in the Monster World. The CDA would be on the lookout for signs that a human child had entered through the factory, or that someone was bringing in stuff from the Human World; I'd imagine that for some Scarers, the temptation to pick up interesting items from the occasional child's bedroom, as a sort of "trophy" or souvenir, might be too strong to resist, and it would also not surprise me if there was not a sort of "black market" in the Monster World for certain Human World items, like music CD's, technology, maybe even drugs, and of course, that factory, with its many portals into the Human World, would be a perfect port of entry for such contraband. While it might not be directly child-related per se, such items WOULD be of concern for the CDA because they would also be "contaminated", just like the sock that poor George encountered. It's NOT a totally ridiculous notion, actually, since I would wager that there ARE germs and pathogens here in OUR world which the monsters are very susceptible to, and have little resistance to, or drugs to cure, so there IS a risk involved. pitbulllady

That's what I mean-Fungus intentionally does this sort of thing! He's not the helpless little victim everyone thinks he is; in fact, HE is more in control of RANDALL than the other way around because he's able to manipulate Randall's behavior so easily by knowing which "buttons" to "push". Between doing sneaky stuff like this, and his incessant jabbering away when he's supposed to be doing his JOB, being stuck with this little dork for a work partner would get to anyone, even someone who didn't have to deal with all the other mess that Randall was dealing with at that time!

I still have to laugh, though, at Randall's "Oh, no...not AGAIN" look, shaking his head, as Fungus starts yammering on and on about the "kid". Randall obviously has experienced this many times before, and he knows that once that mouth gets started, it's pretty hard to shut it up! pitbulllady

"Wouldn't be surprised...the little git got off scott-free from what I know"
Pitbulllady's right ^0^ In all honesty, the forum got a big conersational boost since you came ^0^ In fact, it took me around twenty minutes to look over everything and make replies ^0^
Actually the "always watching" comment probably lead to that. "*folds arms* Actually Roz has this talent for popping up behind you....almost as good as me...ALMOST" Better than her at that Ran ^0^
Well what I meant in regards to stock is that the Waternooses gained vast wealth through stocking in the Scare Industry, which became the origin of near-all energy in the Monster World. And though that, were able to buy their way into controlling position, making Monsters Ltd into Monsters Inc. If M.I. fell, so did their stock, so did their money.
"HIM? Control ME? Oh please..." She has a point ^_^
Same here ^0^

^ I've looked over this board quite a few times within the past week, and I think I might have missed the fandom's 'peak period' - a couple of years ago (2006) people were really active here. Meh. Pity I didn't watch Monsters, Inc. for the first time until last month.
