As I write this MI is 245th out of the top 250 movies on IMDB. At this level, only minute fractions of a star separate the MI from #251. To prevent MI from being "bumped" by a few popular movies in the next few months, anyone who hasn't voted go to IMDB and give MI 10 stars.

If Randall is a nasty villain again and dies in the sequel, will you watch the sequel? I suppose I will. I will be disappointed, but much of the enchantment of the Monster World is seeing our world reflected in it, as a "skewed" version of Reality. I would love to see more details of this world (that is the reason I spent so much of my scanty funds to get books and other material on the movie). So I will watch the movie to learn more about the Monster World. But I might wait till it comes out in DVD and rent it (unless I can get a friend or family member to go with me).

Slacker radio has some good Christmas music stations. I am listening to WMVX 106.5 in Cleveland...they've been doing Christmas music at least a couple days.

We know Randall is not cold blooded and has other mammalian features (such as warm blood). But his skin is scaled. Does it shed as he grows?

Checked up the voice actors for MI on IMDB. Mike and Sulley are featured for MI2, but not Randall. This may be good. We get to see more of MonsterWorld but not see Randall get ****ed.

One Second After by William R. Forstchen Read. Then contact your Congress people and tell them to prepare for an EMP attack, to make the book less likely and less devastating if it does occur.

I had a confusing dream last night. It was both in the past (with my father alive and me in my own house) and in the future (after the MI sequel). It included my old scifi library, Simon the Chipmunk and Randall (for some reason under the name of the TV dragon from 1992, Scorch). Anyway, I was explaining to my father how the sequel made Randall "Scorch" Boggs a archetype of redemption to the 21st Century, like the Grinch in the 20th or Scrooge in the 19th. Here's to hoping it's true!

A website that might be of good use for a background is www.cc.gatech.edu/~pesti/roadmap/the detailed roadmap of the 21st century, especially for the sequel. Take a look at the nearby predictions, and the ones Kurzweil got wrong for 2009 (I admit that the red line through them makes them hard to read) for a good background of the next ten or twelve years. There is also a good website that has had a great history of predicting political developments using the methodology of Generational Dynamics www.generationaldynamics.com/ww2010.htmwhich projects a Clash of Civilizations World War starting in a few years, between the West on one side and China and Sunni Islam on the other you may want to look at.

Is there any hope for such a re-release?

I thought we would all do our local Christmas music marathon stations, and I would have a selection. I also thought of researching some. But the first one I found was playing Nov 1 and still plays Dec 26, with good songs and no commercials. My favorite Trans-Siberian Express song is the one they played Christmas Eve in Sarajevo.
