Why do they NOT allow more than two consecutive same letters to be printed together in a review? It totally screwed up a comment I left in the review of someone's fanfic! It's absurd! Plus, I have to change the way I spell MY screen name, too, or it won't put it right. No wonder so many fanfic writers are turning more and more to DA!

Yeah, I've noticed that. Now that I think of it, that actually screwed up a review I sent to YOU for the first chapter of your "One True Place" fic. I have to guess this is some sort of bug in FF.net's system, although WHY that hasn't been fixed yet (since this problem's been around for quite awhile now), I have no idea. They either just don't have enough mods there to address all these bugs (which isn't a very good excuse anyway, because they SHOULD), or they just don't care, since they haven't gotten enough complaints about it or they just see it as an "inconsequential" issue. Just. Plain. Ridiculous! ...Y'know, I've been thinking about posting "Homecoming" on DA, too, as well as any and all of my upcoming fanfics (I can make and post images for each of them, which is a very nice feature -- and no stupid 3-consecutive letter bug!). I'll still post on FF.net for the time being, though...at least until they do something that really, completely p.o.'s me, that is. ~Light Rises

I've always had trouble coding with ff.net, too. I remember, if you wanted to put elipses (sp?)... you know, the '...' things, you had to put a space in between each dot, otherwise ff.net would turn it into a single dot. -_-; Nowadays, I still have trouble whenever I'm posting things (especially things like page breaks; I have to double and triple check anything I post just to be safe). You can post fanfics on DA? ... I better check that out...

Then again...we should be a little lenant... I mean afterall, FF.net has done some for us... Well, it IS true that our stories on FF.net probably get more traffic than they would via our DA accounts. And the chance is also much better that someone will sorta "stumble" across our fics on FF.net (like someone who doesn't usually visit the M.I. section but decides to give it peek anyway) than on DA, at least as far as I know. Heck, that's how *I* found out that Randall had such a following, and about you guys.^^ That's why I'm probably gonna post on both DA and FF.net, and then see how that goes. ~Light Rises

Makes me glad I left FF.net long ago. However, I mainly left FF.net, because of the lousy people that hang out there (some of which are completely daft!). I had been reported TWICE and had some great original fan fics been thrown down the "'ol zero-grav comode" by some 'thou-art-greater-than-you' kind of people who just decided it would be really fun to make my stay at FF.net completely miserable. Worst of all, FF.net doesn't even look into these things to see if the reports are credible, before tearing down all your hard labor and all the nice reviews that went with it. One of my friends also had the same thing happen to her. It's really absurd how they handle these things. I've complained to the head people there, but they seem to just ignore everything anyhow. So, I finally got fed up and left. Frankly, I never plan to go there again. However, there are alternatives. I haven't signed up with them, because I usually put all of my fics here or on my personal Fan Fic/BLoSC site. But here's the link: www.fanfics.org/It's much better than FF.net, yet it's pretty similar in terms of setup and all.

Hmm...in that case, Joy, I really don't blame you for leaving FF.net. I guess we've just been lucky in the M.I. section so far, since we haven't encountered those kinds of problems as far as I know. But it's VERY worrisome to think that this could happen in the future, if we were to come across some of those "holier-than-thou" jerks and not be able to do anything about it. So, yeah -- I really don't blame you. ...Well, I checked out the FF.org link, and I decided to sign up for an account. It seems like a pretty nice site, and the mods seem to be genuinely nice, good-humored people...but once I logged in the first time, I found out that you can't use HTML tags in your submissions (which sucks for me, since I use italics a lot). I browsed other fanfics there to see if anyone's somehow got around that or knows something that I don't know...but so far, no luck. ~Light Rises

Hmm, that stinks. I use italics, bold, and underlined pretty often too. But, I really wasn't aware of that part of the site, since I haven't looked into it a whole lot. I just sorta found it while surfing the net and thought it might be worthwhile to keep on hand. I don't see very many decently-run fan fic sites like that. That's too bad about the HTML, though.

Pitbulllady, if you don't use ff.net anymore, does that mean that you have more of your L&S crossover with MI (or even more Randall ficcage) someplace else? *hopefull look*

Guys.....I didn't want to propose it since of the amount but.......
Why don't we post our stories here? We could bring the stories here, or the new chapter updates....
I know.... I thought too that this would be slightly difficult. I mean, I myself would be a little overloaded with 4 new chapters for stories.... But then again....I'm pitching an idea here.....

Yeah, that is too bad. *shakes head* And it's so true how hard it is to find decently-run writing sites, much less well-run fanfic sites. The only other decent site of this type which I've come across is called Writing.com, which I was a member of a long, long while back. The interface there is really well-done, they allow HTML tags -- you can even create colored type, using said HTML tags. And they DO have a "Fanfic" category there, although Writing.com is definitely more geared toward original ficiton. The problem, though? You're only allowed to upload up to five submissions if your account type is free, and each chapter of a multi-chapter story MUST be its own submission. I haven't visited there for MONTHS, though, so it's possible that that's changed. But they seemed to be taking away more and more privileges from its free members the last time I checked (its a really slick, professionally-run site, so that's almost understandable), so I highly doubt it would do any of us any good. *sighs*...Well, at least there's DA, and of course the "Fan Writings" section here on the board (and I'll still post on FF.net for now...although with some decided reservations). Speaking of which...hmm...I'm not quite sure about that proposal, Sean, but I want to hear everyone else on this before I say "yea" or "nay" just yet. ~Light Rises

I'm thinking about posting on DA as well too, since there have been so many things going on with FF.net that I just can't be bothered any more.

Yeah I was a little offset too but....
We ALL go here afterall.....and are the loyalist readers and reviewers..... Besides....we don't have any restrictions or problems, since we're in control here. It's like posting on our own FF.net site.....
