I hope the puppies are OK when I get home. There were nine when I left at 6:30 this morning, but I don't think she was done having them, since she still looked pretty "fat" when I walked her. There were five black ones and four blue merles; I didn't even have time to check how many were boys and how many were girls. I gave her an injection of the hormose Oxytocin before I left, which causes uterine contractions, so if there were any still in there, they would have been expelled. It also makes more milk production. This is her first litter, and I'll be surprised if she doesn't lose a few to carelessly stepping on them or squashing them. Guess I'll find out when I get home, huh?

Hey, a first-time mommy! Congratulations to her. Good luck with the pups.

Wow. Isn't it weird to be there as your dog gives birth, though? Do you have to do anything or do you just leave it all to her?

Oh, it's anonymous if you just make up an account on there w/ a screenname, I think...I registered a looong time ago.
Anyway, it's just a discussion with people who are unconvinced that Mirage has a superpower. O.o (I'm californiamountainsnakex.)

Oh that's simple.
Her powers are directed.
Instead of making HERSELF invisible or seem to come out of no-where, she PUTS that DIRECTLY to the person.
Like the scene when Bob heads out. Mirage isn't invisible, Bob just THINKS she is.
You know. Mirage probably IS her power. Though I think she's more willing to hide them. Perhaps....perhaps Syndrome doesn't know she's a super? Maybe she hides her powers, to him to. When you think about it, Mirage might not be her real name.

Yeah...yeah! Good points. And when she was watching him and Frozone in the car...maybe they just didn't see her there.
It might be a name she adopted to suit her power.

Yeah, I saw that thread early this morning, and this is just one of several on this topic. Like I've always said, most movie-goers aren't very observant. They watch a movie like someone just "skimming" a book, not really getting details.
In the scene where Mirage sneaks into Bob's cubicle, she just sorta seems to "materialize" out of thin air. One second she's not there, and the next she is. Bob, and SEVERAL other Insuricare employees, walk right past her! Now, it would seem to me that a woman who's nearly six feet tall, dressed to the nines, with such brilliant white, long hair, would be hard NOT to notice, even if she were a familiar person around that office, and surely if she were a stranger she's stick out like the proverbial sore thumb! Yet, no one seems to be able to see her, including US, right at first! It is indeed like she can WILL others not to see her. Later on, she does this same "appear out of nowhere" act, on the control bridge in the rocket launching room, and then she disappears just as quickly after givng the Parrs the password.
Mirage does not literally become invisable like Violet does, but then, neither does Randall. He just changes his appearance to blend into his background, but you can still see him if you know where to look. Perhaps Mirage does the same thing, which would account for her name-inferring something that LOOKS like it's there, but is not what it appears to be. She appears to be a desk and a cubicle wall when she shows up in the office.
As for whether or not she is a Super, I guess it depends on one's definition of "Super". IF her ability is the result of her being able to plant some subconcious suggestion in the minds of others, rather than a physical ability to change HER actual appearance, it would suggest a mental ability. THAT would also account for why Buddy, who apparently hated Supers, would fall in love with her. He does not consider MENTAL abilities to BE Super; HE himself is as Super as it gets, if you consider his IQ, but to him, only PHYSICAL powers count. A person who is extremely intelligent, or has ESP, or telekinetic, or other powers originating in the brain is not a Super, by his definition, otherwise he'd accept his own status as a Super, and would not feel the need to have created all those inventions to "compensate" for his lack thereof.

Like I said, Will. But perhaps she hid these powers from Buddy, which is why we don't see them often, especially around him. Maybe she did like him, but not what he had become.
Like his hate for supers. "You hate them....you'll have to hate me too...". Which could definetly apply to the scene with her and Buddy.
