I'm sure we've had a thread like this before, but I would like to get it sorted out in my head. :) I'm really interested in differences in cultures, or even just regions. I remember having to relearn lines from campfire songs in girl-guides when I moved from Alberta to Ontario (I've sinced moved back), and some of them were rather drastic differences, but still the same songs, and that's just within the same (albeit large) country!
I'm a proud Canadian, and I speak both official languages; English being my first, and I've been learning French since grade two. I also know the bare bones of Spanish and am currently learning Japanese (yay multiculturalism!)
Where are you guys all from? What languages do you speak? What do you have for breakfast? :D

Cleveland area..."the Mistake on the Lake". I learned Latin because my guidance counselor advised it (it was a parochial school). He also coincidentally was the Latin teacher. We got into this situation in the class where we started laughing, and he said "Chapter 5 is on the accusative case. Read it and do all the exercises." Of course, we just laughed all the more so he said "Chapter 6 is on the genitive case. Read it and do all the exercises." We went through the whole book this way. Needless to say, nobody finished their homework. Next year, I had to ask the upper class Latin teacher (who was different) for an exception to taking the course. Me and a friend learned some Esperanto years later. He quit, but I got far enough to read simple children books just like I read English. I dropped it though, and have forgotten most of it.

I'm English, but not a proud English. England sucks. I live in the south, which is very countryfied, but it's not like cool American country with dust and tumbleweeds- we have lots of trees and sheep instead. And rubbish weather. And everyone's crammed into places. There's just not enough space. And Tony Blair sucks. And the English 'jolly ho' stereotype sucked, but now it's been replaced with a chav stereotype, which is even worse. Apart from that, I guess it's not too bad. I can speak English, (obviously), a little bit of Maltese, and I'm currently learning Latin at school, which I'm really enjoying. I'm not really into languages though, hence why I took Latin- you don't have to speak it or write it, just translate it! And it's very good for the brain, apparently.

I was born in California, but my parents were from El Salvador. I speak English and Spanish and learning a bit of Chinese.
For breakfast, on school days I have cereal with soymilk but on weekends I eat something else. Sometimes Salvadoranian foods or regular American foods.

Same with Veg, except I don't take chinese. Hey BR, do you know what this means: " Hola, me llamo FlameTheCharmander. Mi favorito color es rojo, me gustan los perros, y me encanta el arte y la drama." If you or anyone else knows what that means (besides Veg) then you get a cookie. ;D

"Hello, my name is FlametheCharmander. My favourite colour is red (I think rojo means red?), something something something, my favourite classes are art and drama." Lol, I don't actually take Spanish, so I'm sure that I'm not completely accurate.

If you or anyone else knows what that means (besides Veg) then you get a cookie. ;D Haha! My grade ten Spanish is returning to me! "Hello, my name is FlameTheCharmander. My favorite coloiur is red, I like dogs and my favorite courses are art and drama.". XD It's cool that several people are learning French. If anybody needs help with it, I'll be glad to help. I speak it every day, and I'm always learning new words because there's both French and English on all of our packadging up here (like I learnt what "fertilizer" was -- "engrais" -- because I work at Superstore and I'm exposed to it for several hours a week. -_-; Someone mentioned Esperanto - I've heard OF it, but I can't recall who spoke it (is it pidjin?).

French sounds cool. I want to take it, but I don't really want to break a tradition I have with a class mate of mine.
