Alright! I just saw Narnia yesterday! ^_^ I must say, I was very impressed by how natural the CG animals looked alongside the human actors (especially their fur! Wow!). Another favorite of mine was the flight pattern of the griffins. ;D

Same here. The griffins were awesome. Aslan too. That movie rocks.

Yes, his voice gave off this definite feeling that put the audience at ease. I went and saw again last night because my kid sister hadn't seen it yet. I cried when Aslan died, I couldn't bear having to see that again....

I agree; I was like, Lucy, use your potion thingie! Then I wanted to yell at her sister for stopping her, and... blargh! *wibbles*
*spoiler*
Of course, after my sister saw the movie, she was saying that when he comes back, it's a religious allegory to Jesus's ressurection, and the breaking of the stone was also in the bible, yada yada yada I really don't care. -_-; I thought Tolkein was supposed to be the devout Roman Catholic, and Lewis the atheist?

I think Lewis was an aetheist when he was younger, but I know for a fact it IS an allegory to the story of Jesus. In fact, every part of the Chronicles of Narnia is an allegory to some event in the Bible, and that Lewis wrote them so he could teach the religion to his grandkids in a way that would be fun and keep their attention.
But religious allegory or not, it was still a fun read and the movie was awesome.

I analyse things internally automatically now (darn you ELA!!!!!), so stuff like that just makes me more interested in the movie/book/whatever. I had a field day wiht the Sandman graphic novels (so... good.... more classical allusions to every culture immaginable than you can shake a stick at... nice art, good characters, symbolism, metaphors like whoah.... *sighs* Neil Gaiman is god).

It's true about the whole reference to Jesus thing, but, being an aetheist myself, I didn't really notice it that much, apart from when Aslan was ressurected.
