So it was my idea. *shrug* Thought somebody else mentioned it first. But whatever...
Anyone know *how* to make such a website? One that could be used to direct people to a petition (or some other method)?
...okay, the DeviantArt thing might be a good idea. There are lots of pretty cool people on there, from the comments I've read. And wow...didn't know that about Sherlock Holmes...there's hope for Buddy yet!

*sigh* Fine....we'll do a petition.....
Jeez....wish RFU was up....hmm....wonder where Joy has been lately....
Well....for those who DO like Randall....but...don't really enjoy our findings on his innocents....they can just mention wanting him back.....
But we shouldn't let OUR findings be overmatched by everyone else. I mean...we DO want Randall back...but with a revelation....

It doesn't HAVE to be a petition. I just thought it sounded like a good plan. ...especially if 1 signature really does count for 30 individuals. That's kinda amazing...I didn't know that either.

All right...we can always come back to this thread or, more likely, just start a new one for the topic.

Yeah....it could take them a bit to get the plans settled out and all.... Plus it might be a year or two before the movie comes to theatres...

It will take more than a year or two for the sequel to be released, when "Toy Story 2" isn't due to be released until 2008, three years from now! Still, given how long it takes to actually make an animated movie, and knowing that "Monsters, Inc. 2" is already in pre-production, with 40 different scripts already having been submitted to Disney, we need to act BEFORE they(whoever "they" will be, Disney or Pixar)decide on a script to develope into the movie. We need to plant the seen NOW.
I just emailed someone on my "Lilo and Stitch" group who is a Disney cast member(which is a term for ANY Disney employee), working out of Anaheim, CA. Even though she doesn't work in Feature Animation, she does, I believe, have some contacts there, or can find out who we need to reach. I told her that we weren't trying to get our own script in or anything; we just want to let it be known that we'd like to have Randall return for the sequel AND to find a way to defeat his own "badness level" and find some sort of redemption. We all agree that it's much more powerful and more meaningful in today's world to have a storyline of someone battling against and winning against their own inner demons than to rehash the same old "Good Guys vs. Bad Guys, Bad Guys Threaten Good Guys, Good Guys Beat Up Bad Buys and Save the Day" schtick. I'll take a good, well-written character arc anyday over the plot of practically every Saturday morning cartoon since tv began.

Correction-that is supposed to be "Toy Story THREE", not "2". That's what I get for typing after taking my contacts out!

But at least you /can/ type with your contacts out! I'd be all, "Where's the keyboard..?" *walks into the desk and fumbles for it* ;D 2008 is so far... Oh, well. ["Suck it up, self! These things take time but they'll be well worth waiting for!"] Yeah....

I'd rather wait for a good film than not have to wait for a rubbish film. ;D

Maybe we should wait a bit longer, and see what happens.

When did they say talks were going on? Maybe we should wait till then....
The thing is, we HAVE to. We can't send out e-ma......petition.....to Disney when we find out a day later Pixar's making it...

Talks are probably going on "behind closed doors" right now, though "officially" they don't restart until October 1. Now, as for how LONG they will go on before we know what the results are-well, THAT could go on for a year or so, until the time for the existing contract expires.
