As reported by Jim Hill Media-Bob Iger might close the Glendale, CA, "Sequel Lab", the studio designed to create sequels to the Pixar films, IF a new deal with Pixar can be finalized. "Official" talks will resume on Oct. 1, 2005, between Disney and Pixar. Meanwhile, it seems that "Monsters, Inc. II" is ALREADY "in developement", though of course if the sequel lab IS closed, that would mean it would either be scrapped or turned over to Pixar(we hope the latter). link here: www.jimhillmedia.com/mb/articles/showarticle.php?ID=1379pitbulllady

I'm not business experienced but...
I believe Iger will have the Sequel Lab shutdown as one of the offerings Disney gives to Pixar...

I'm so glad we have pitbulllady to keep us up to date with these things. Well....I'm just hoping for the best. I mean, Sean may be right. Just because the 'Sequel lab' gets shut down (if it does) it doesn't mean no Pixar movies would get sequels...just that Disney couldn't do it for every single one...right? October seems so far away. I hope "Monsters Inc 2" gets turned over to Pixar if that happens. *cross fingers*

Thank you....and thank Pitbulllady ^_^ You...feeling alright right?
Well. Iger may tell Pixar that one thing they'll offer is shutting down the place, and giving control to Pixar. What THEY may ask in return is that PIXAR make the sequels.
I think THAT is a good exchange. Disney doesn't lose any money, and Pixar gets do make the sequels THEIR way.
Hopefully we can pass on our ideas....and the truth about Randall....

Yeah! Yeah! Exactly what you said!! ;D
Pixar's website has their little "contact us" address on it...maybe we can write a letter or something.

Well....I am a reasonable man....^_^
Really? But I don't think they'll listen....outside ideas aren't allowed are they?

While as a rule they won't take outside scripts/story ideas (except under special circumstances, apparently, because Brad Bird wasn't previously employed by Pixar and The Incredibles had been HIS "baby" for 10 years already), John Lasesster (sp?) DID say that Pixar wanted to "listen to the fans" and what THEY wanted. If we can make a big enough noise about having Randall return and find redemption -- on the Internet, in letters, etc. -- then, in theory, we SHOULD be heard. Giving them general, overall ideas about what should happen in the sequel isn't the same as telling them specifically what story should be told, and it's the former that I believe Pixar will listen to, so long as they catch wind of us (if they haven't already).
About the news...yeah, I'm not quite sure if that's a completely positive bit of news or not in terms of an MI sequel. But at least it seems that Iger might be truly moving away from (in Jim Hill's words) "the bad old days," which at least is good news for Disney.

It seems good LR. I honestly think that Iger will shut the thing down, since he himself said he wanted to bring talks between Pixar back and do what Eisner didn't want.
And yes. That's a good idea.
How.....how about we do a petition? Like we did with RFU....... We'll all put our ideas in emails and send it in, with uhh...a group signature or something....so they know we're a group....a LARGE group heh...

Yeah, exactly! Giving them our ideas wouldn't be the same thing as trying to tell them what to do with the story. (Heh...I remember doing that when I was younger...writing to companies with my own brilliant ideas for their scripts and begging them to do it, as if they were gonna take a random little girl seriously!)
There's always http://www.go-petition.com...if it's still working. I haven't been there in a long time. Or, just the big e-mail idea of Sean's sounds cool.

Yeah. Petitions seem to be a little enforcing I guess...
But if we all come up with a good name for us all (and Randall ^_^), we can put that on our E-mails to let Pixar know the e-mails are from a group.
Randall Rebellion was my original idea, but it doesn't seem good for this heh...

The group thing sounds like a good idea. Randall Rebellion... ;D I like it, but maybe not for this purpose.
I dunno....Boggs Boosters? ;D Or would an alliterative name sound cheesy....hmmmmmmm...

My mom calls herself a "Randall Rescuer", since she always buys the little things of Randall nobody else wants to buy....

When we do get to this....(Off main topic, names, for the moment)..... Perhaps Pitbulllady should send her first. That way, someone with really good knowledge and explain in good detail might entice Pixar to listen to our ideas.

Aww, how cute...about your mom, I mean! And anyway, yes...if that would be all right with pitbulllady, I was sorta thinking the same thing.

Yeah. She really respects my opinons of Randall....unlike my...other....person.... Why do you think she let him stay with me? ^_^
Yeah. Recently she got a bobble head of Randall ^_^ Of course, Randall was a little ascue with his head being so big....... ;D
Dang....I'm on a good idea roll! ^_^
