Randy?
Wow, Pixar haven't held back in terms of making MU Randall as different as possible to MI Randall. They'd better make his transformation convincing and not some sort of a strange parody.
The toys look pretty cool. Love the little cardigan Randall is wearing on the left hand side one. The one on the right is just too stylised for my liking, but yes, PBL, the inclusion of nostrils is pretty interesting.

Ohhh mannn...the girls will be clamoring for Ran now heh....oh jeez "Randy" ha ha... Wow, have the bobble head of him originally and...this one's better actually, both in appearance and...well...happy hehehehe.
Those nostrils may be his mouth actually. A very small cute upward smile for the style it's taking.
Huh...that cardigan....are those ROR colors? Oh crud...they are....not a good sign.

Yeah, he's like 180 degrees from the angry, stressed-out, frustrated guy we saw in the original, and unless Pixar is going to try to show that he was always secretly "evil" or something(which they'd better NOT), is gonna mean they'll really have to pull off a convincing face-turn-heel. I can only imagine that whatever it was that set this innocent, happy-but-insecure little fella on the wrong path that culminated with his horrific fate in MI, it had to have been something awful. Thing is, if that is the case(and I definitely believe it is), Pixar had better fix that! It would just be horribly effed-up of them to show that Randall's later attitude was the result of someone doing something bad to him, and then having that same "someone"(*cough* James Sullivan *cough*) decide that he didn't like how Randall turned out and just getting rid of the problem when it came back to "bite" him, tossing away the result of HIS earlier actions like a piece of garbage. pitbulllady

From my analysis, Sullivan got "Inc.", Wazowski seems to be getting "University", so Randall MIGHT get the focus of the sequel...
But yeah, I HATE if Pixar would go to "Oh something happened to him, but it WAS his fault"...or showing him to be this timid rich-boy (in which case, makes no sense, why would he work his fingers to the bone on the extractor if he could just buy Waternoose out or something) who turns out to be snotty... *folds arms* Though, thanks to the cupcake pic, he is shown to be compassionate and gracious at least...

And like you said, they'll also have to deal with the repercussions of Sulley's actions. I just can't imagine how they're going to justify Sulley throwing Randall into the Human World at the end of MI if what we have at the beginning of MU is as sweet and naive a character as he seems to be. The only potential solution might be that it's not down to Mike and Sulley what happens to Randall in MU (though I think that's quite unlikely seeing as there's already an intrinsic link between Mike and Randall, with them sharing a room) but even if that IS the case, Mike at the very least will have been witness or knowledgeable of whatever bad thing happened to Randall (and by extension Sulley would probably know about it too) so yet again, the two of them just throwing Randall away in MI would still seem incredibly harsh.

I do like the idea of Randall having a sequel focused more on him but unfortunately I'm not sure just how likely that is. And with the cupcakes, we don't know the context of the situation: Randall could have an ulterior motive of some sort, or something like that (I'm not saying he does, but we just don't know if a) Randall baked the cupcakes, and b) if he baked them for a positive reason). But yeah, the idea of them portraying him as this snobby rich boy...Eugh. No. That's NOT what he is. That couldn't have been clearer in MI.

Well as said before, we see that Randall will be in the beginning.... Now if we take the merchandise into account, seems Randall is wearing a ROR jacket, given the colors. Now this is the JOCK fraternity...anybody picturing timid young Randall getting into THIS place? My theory is, he's brought in to be knocked down. And seeing as how, at some point, Sullivan joins in ROR (before or after) he may have a hand in it.
SOMETHING happens to Randall and, being the main characters, Sullivan and Wazowski had to have a hand...literally or accidentally that drives a wedge between them. Seeing as how we are shown Randall WAS a timid, young, some-what generous person before....THEY had a hand in changing it. Certainly doesn't justify them later.

You know, I took a closer look at the skateboards...Sullivan and Wazowski are on there...but so is big Al (my temp name for ROR Fraternity's leader, the purple guy)... AND there's Randall...BUT he's got that wicked grin of his we all know. He seems to be wearing the ROR jacket...and his glasses too. And yeah, he is grinning WIDE there...
...Maybe ROR brings him into the fraternity and they begin poisoning him, manipulating him to do some dirty work...

I don't see anything "wicked" about that grin on Randall's face in either the toys, the PEZ dispenser we saw earlier, or the banner pic. It's just a big, wide, happy grin on the toy; reminds me of Wilt's grin in FHFIF, just the sort of smile that can light up a whole room. There is nothing in those eyes that speaks of anger or resentment, just hope and eagerness to learn. pitbulllady

Randy is actually a reason why I wouldn't have been named Randall if I had been a boy. My mom likes the name Randall but she HATES the fact that people shorten it to Randy. Although she ended up getting annoyed that some people call me Kathy instead of Kathleen. Anyway.... In that first picture....that picture where Randall has just the little black eyes....that's a pretty weird style. I mean it's cute but that style makes him look like he's 5 or something.

Well by wicked I meant "cool". I know Randall's not evil, remember? --- You know the style reminds me a little of Sack Boy, of Little Big Planet...

Found a picture of some more toys including another Randall one. Neat! Do you have a link to a bigger pic so I can get a better look? At least my quest for Randall merchandise might finally be satiated, even if it is with teen Randall. pitbulllady
