I read on the back of a coloring book that Sulley was teased a lot because he was "smart." HA! It wasn't Sulley who made that machine now was it? So I'm thinking that Randall is WAY smarter then Sulley.

Sullivan...Smart...? *bursts out laughing* YEP, Sullivan's smart- as much as Mike is witty!

That's what I said, "SULLEY! SMART?"
And I thought that the American educations system was going downhill by "dumbing down" its standards; apparently we've got nothing on the Monster World's education system when it comes to churning out kids who can't even read their own names on their high school diplomas, if they consider James P. Sullivan to be a star student!

"Oh please...if Sullivan was smarter than ME, as if, he wouldn've needed my help to get his job in the first place ha..."

And, I know this is a generalisation, but I think it's true 9 times out of 10, that most Scarers generally aren't that intelligent. Randall is an exception, but if a monster were really intelligent, they probably wouldn't aim to be a scarer, as scaring is a more physical job. Hence, it's unlikely that Sullivan's intelligent.

"Well Scaring IS a dangerous job and one that is looked upon as a...well...goal...in some ways for most of the younger crowd..."
"After all, Scaring has been around for a long time and is considered a desired position to take up"

You're right-Scaring seems like pretty much what we'd call a "blue collar" career here in the US; I don't know if that term is used elsewhere, but it usually is for like people who change oil at petrol stations, or clean windows, or wash dishes at restaurants. You know, not exactly the sort of job you'd need a college degree for, but more the kind where you have to wear your name embroidered on your shirt pocket. I mean, Scarers ONLY earn minimum wage, so it's not a high-paying career. Sulley probably was making about as much money as a janitor(now THAT'S some job for somebody who is supposed to be so smart, huh?) Randall probably ended up being a Scarer because he was reptilian, and in spite of a high IQ and creative ability, and probably an engineering degree as well, he could not find work that was suited to him level of education and talent because of prejudice against his kind. He had to take whatever he could get, and the demand for Scarers was very high. pitbulllady
