Filled with plot holes, and the recent series has been lacking sometimes, but overall I love this show. I've only ever seen the New Who and the first Who episode ever. If anyone is a fan. I have found a very funny dub; For those confused, the daleks (which look like pepper shakers) have a catch phrase called "EXTERMINATE". They are talking to a Cyberman, the 'Call centre', which is an enemy of the Doctor as well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZ-lJpL2oVg&feature=player_embedded

Yes, I think I saw this episode once; my brother will watch literally ANYTHING on TV.

Some episode are better than others (I actually like the episodes WITHOUT the daleks/Cybermen better they're more just more guilty pleasure episodes). It's at times cheesy and has it's 'doh' moments but overall I usually can enjoy it. The 'Doctor's daughter' earns the 'worst episode ever' of 'New Who' from me still. Granted in the new series they brought in my favourite enemy and I'm not sure I approve of everything in it (The Weeping angels), basically they are stone statues if you look at them, but look away or even BLINK and they'll... get you. They move VERY fast. Usually kill you by sending you off back in time and feeding off the life you could have had... in this episode they snapped their necks... eh. Not sure I dug that.) But some of the ideas were pretty good. But some of the things done are hilarious. Like a dalek... offering the doctor tea. "You do not require TEA?!" (Even in that voice, it sounded really... baffled by this idea... how does no-one require tea?!) Only in the BBC. LOL. Still there are some things I'm not digging in the new series (BAD bond movie feeling in one of the episodes and also the daleks plus Churchhill episode could have been much better) but I'm giving it a shot. It's just I'm getting the impression Moffat is trying to shove lots of ideas which 'seem cool' into smaller packages but are too big and very distracting and take up the time of the character development things which don't necessarily drive the plot but make you care for the characters more. Like when one of the other companions (Rose) told that girl in WW2 they'd win when she was upset. Did they need that scene? No. But it was GREAT. (I recommend 'The Empty Child as an episode. Also 'Blink'.) Granted, I still adore the new companion (Amy) at the same time. I get the impression you don't approve Sg.

Actually, I'm indifferent towards Dr. Who. It's certainly nowhere NEAR as bad as the other stuff that ends up on the channel here in the US now called Syfy.

Why do they call a channel 'SyFy'? Did the American-English language get some sort of change again since their failed attempts at making a brand new language all those years ago? It just looks weird. And wrong. Must you guys change the spelling of everything?! XD. (Why must you hate vowels so much... what did they ever do to you guys... you monsters. ) But yeah, some things can be bad in Sci Fi sometimes. But Dr Who is just pretty funny sometimes. Granted I need my stories to have some humour usually. Sometimes Sci Fi/fantasy can lack that as forgets about that side of it (with some excepetions).

I just started watching this season and I love it. I'm hoping to get my hands on DVDs of past seasons when this one is over. Better late than never

I don't know why they decided to degrade the grammar skills. And yes, I HAVE noticed that most Sci-Fi stuff would fit better into the horror genre (i.e. X-Files, Ghost Hunters, and almost anything other than Docter Who that shows up on SyFy) than in comedy. Granted, there ARE some exceptions to that rule, though most were earlier on. Even Terminator 2, known for bordering on the thriller genre as well as sci-fi and action, had some mild jokes, mostly revolving around the reprogrammed T800 (aka Arnold) and its attempts to understand human culture (i.e. saying "Hasta la Vista, Baby," just before it shatters a frozen T1000 XD).

SyFy just sounds so stupid. I don't know why they made that change either. Personally, I think the whole channel has gone downhill in the last couple years. I used to have them on my favorites, but it just seems like there's nothing on there anymore except for lame B horror movies.
Also, I'm officially in love with Doctor Who. They're making us wait an extra weak until the next episode and I just want it now. I know I can watch all of them online, but I really need something to regularly watch on TV. Also, I kind of want Rory to just...go away because he's messing up my ship XD But it looks like he's going to be with Amy and the Doctor for the rest of the time. Pooooo!

I ship rory/doctor myself*. No. Seriously. I admit I'm not as keen on this series as the last ones but I love the three main characters. I like Rory/Doctor Then Rory/Amy THEN Amy/Doctor. OT3! Honestly though Amy/Doctor by itself would turn Rory into another Mikey and I don't want that.

Lol, I just feel so in love with Amy/Doctor that I don't want anything else. Perhaps I'll get used to Rory, now that he's going to be a common character.

It DID used to be called the Sci-Fi channel, actually. I don't know why they decided to degrade the grammar skills. Because poor literacy is kewl. So stupid. I started watched Doctor Who when Nine revived it, though my dad has been watching since he was a kid. Nine was the *best*. Of course, everyone feels that way about their first Doctor... Ten was good, And Eleven is really shaping up. l>o<l Bowties for the win! I really do like Amy though. She's a lot like Donna. Both awesome. Moffat is a great writer, glad he replaced Davies, even if he seems determinated to give us a phobia every of everything (shadows, statues, angels, dreams, old people, cracks on the wall... *shudder*) But some of the things done are hilarious. Like a dalek... offering the doctor tea. "You do not require TEA?!" (Even in that voice, it sounded really... baffled by this idea... how does no-one require tea?!) *Loved* it. Tea is what the universe runs on, Brownian motion and all that. Lol, I just feel so in love with Amy/Doctor that I don't want anything else. Perhaps I'll get used to Rory, now that he's going to be a common character I used to feel the same way about Ten X Rose... *sighs dreamily*

Haha, I think everyone does feel that way about their first doctor. I was trying to watch an older season with 10 the other day, but could help but sit there and pout "He's not Eleven >=(" I'm sure I'll get over it after a while. When this season is over and I'll be forces to watch the other Doctors, lest I be Wholess until next year. I read that Neil Gaiman is writing an episode for next season. This excites me, even though I'm only a casual fan of his. I've only ever read the first two big ol' volumes of Sandman. It's not my fault that they're $100

I know the feeling. It's like, 'he's great!' but I want the new one... Never be Who-less! Girl-on-the-Moon on DA does a great Torchwood/Doctor Who comic called 'Search for the Truth'.
Ooooh, Gaiman's writting? I feel all tingly now. He's all kinds of creepy. <3 Plus, he's a really good author and a good screenwriter from the sounds of it. He and Terry Pratchett make a great team- you should totally pick up a copy of 'Good Omens' ($100, seriously? ouch)

Yeah, I can get them in separate volumes, but that would end up costing even more. The only reason I even got to read the first two was because my library, by some miracle, had them. They just don't have the third or forth.
I was trying to read American Gods and really loved it, but I started working and only got halfway done. I'll have to pick it up again. What's Good Omens about?
And I'm really looking forward to see what his episode will be. I'm sure it will keep me up that night. He can come up with some pretty freaky stuff. Even though I never read it, the pure idea of Coraline is rather disturbing. And that's his kids book XD That's one thing I can really respect about Gaiman, he doesn't just work with one audience, to the point of even having a graphic novel series.

-SPAZ ATTACK-
YOU MUST READ GOOD OMENS!
It's a book about the apocolypse.
With humour!
There's an angel and demon who team up because they don't want the world to end. They're also technically the serpant and the angel who guarded the tree of life too. Their uh 'friendship' (but they refuse to call themselves friends if I recall) is pretty dang hilarious. I love their chemistry it's so hilarious. XD.
Plus the technical antichrist makes a good ending speech.
Gaiman is writing an episode?
I approve! I've read his books, and while I tend to prefer stories with more humour, he's got some good stuff.
Yet to finish American Gods though. (It's here somewhere).
I'm more of a fan of Pratchett myself but Gaiman is good too. Pratchett more makes you both laugh and think then simply creep you out though.
