Job training can't teach to read, or anything about world history, or science or how to add and subtract, or multiply and divide. Companies just don't have the kind of money to fully educate employees except to do specific tasks. If that job is phased out, THEN what? The people who held those positions can't even look for a new job because they can't READ, and can't write a resume. They will not have a clue what to do with the money they earn because they can't count money or add or subtract. Again, job training doesn't teach this. PLUS, who wants to do job training for a six-year-old? THAT's right, a six-year-old. It's been proven that humans' learning abilities, especially in language, declines dramatically after 10 years of age, so if they don't have it by that time, they likely won't learn it. That's why people go to school as kids, and go to work as adults. Trust me on this one, young people-if you think SCHOOL is rough, you ain't seen NOTHING yet! Wait until you get out in the real world and have to make a living and pay taxes and stuff-school will seem like a piece of cake! I know I sound just like your parents here, but believe me, if it wasn't so, I wouldn't bother telling you. That's how whenever I see posts on IMDb calling Randall "evil" and his actions inexcusable, I KNOW they are from kids who have no concept of what it's like to have a job and to live one paycheck from total bankruptcy, and to have to put up with the sort of thing like Waternoose, because most adults have, at one time or another, gone through something like that.

I've begun to get a few tasters of the real world, and no sir, i don't like it I took a year out mainly to experience what a nine to five job would be like (I worked in an office and ..hated it). it was boring, monotonious and so draining. the only good thing about it was the money. So I decided, of my own free will, to go to college! Now I'm doing art and animation (which I love) and it is back into the old school routine. And yes, I can actually appreciate how easy you have it at school (never thought I'd say that )! the thing that pisses me off is teachers who can't be bothered to teach/turn up/ or their heart is not in the work. However I appreciate what you say pitbulllady about teachers (such as yourself) being put into fields they have no idea about. maybe (as you say you do art) you could take a looooong trek to the UK and teach my class. we're pretty well behaved, honest! xxx

Well....It's just I'm really close to getting all my credits and I just think it's a waste of time....
Look at it this way Pitbulllady. Maryland has changes in the educational system from time to time.
"I" have to get MORE credits than my sisters had to because of a change. They got RID of the "D", making it harder for class passage and the lot. Sure, they brought it back, but what about that year without it? And then they give this stupid "graduation project" that you have to finish, and they inform you mid-way into your 11th grade. And you HAVE to do this graduation project, with a complete stranger, being monitored, and having to pass 4 tests....
They keep coming up with stupid ways for people to pass school....
I guess I don't like being labeled for my intellegence in an area with a letter...

It's the same way for people who work as teachers, in the legal field, etc. You have all this paperwork to keep up with, and you have attend all these workshops and stuff, and have other projects to complete to prove you can do your job. The rules are often changed without much notice, yet you are still expected to comply, or else. You have to work with people you don't know, and often have difficulty getting along with, all the time. Your abilities are constantly being monitored and evaluated. I guess in a way, Sean, your school IS putting you through "job training", since what you've described-with the exception of the aforementioned community service-is pretty much what most professional people have to contend with each and every day. I know *I* certainly do. Only, if YOU fail at this point, you just start over. You don't have to go hungry because you are no longer getting a paycheck and can't afford to buy groceries, or put gas in the car, or the car itself, for that matter. You won't have to live in a cardboard box on the sidewalk because you can't make house payments or rent, or die from an easily-cured illness because you can't afford to go see a doctor and don't have health insurance. Just ask Randall what that's like; HE'LL set you straight!

Uhh lets see....I've been with him for about 3 years now.......... One thing that takes much out of paychecks, besides bills, would be personal affections.
Personally it's just my opinion. If they keep changing things merely because of a small group, I don't want to be part of it.... I hate working with other people in my school because ALL of them are screw ups. Why would you work with somebody who doesn't do ANYTHING at all. Believe me. I tried working with two addicts (believe me...they were...) one time in science. I ended up smelling like coffee for days.....

GEESH! The schools you guys go to are NOTHING like schools here at all! Teachers absolutely CANNOT, under threat of actual arrest and imprisonment, let alone being fired and sued, leave a group of kids unattended for any reason or amount of time whatsoever! pitbulllady SERIOUSLY?! Our teachers abandon us for WHOLE lessons, and if a teacher is away, nine times out of ten the sub won't show up so we're left to have a free period! Miss Knap just walks off to snog her boyfriend halfway through lessons and won't show up until WAY after the bell has gone to dismiss us!
