Sullivan acts like he is probably in his '40's. While Mike is the same age(many official Disney sources state that they met in Kindergarten, when Sulley mistook Mike for a STOOL and sat on the little darlin'), he, even moreso than Randall due to being much older, has some serious immaturity issues. I'm talking immaturity issues that Buddy Pine would have difficulty matching! Plus, Sulivan states in the movie that Mr. Waternoose has been "like a father to him", NOT a grandfather, which indicates to me that he is of an age where the CEO would, chronologically at least, be of the right age to have been his father, and was likely a close friend of his REAL father as well. Randall would be considerably younger than that. Sulley's speech patterns are very, very consistent with a person in their '40's, and Randall's are just as consistent with a 20-something male who hasn't really been part of the "Rat Race" long enough to have really settled into it yet.

First off….Randall’s age IS….or…WAS 25. Not estimated by anyone. Well….he did go to a…ahem….“institution” of sorts…..regardless of his reptilian heritance…
“So….your calling me a what!?”.
Calm down. He’s saying nothing offensive…
“Err…”
Well in any case Pitbulllady. All three HAVE known each other for a long time…that you can be sure of.

I know this might seem weird, but I've always like the fact that Randall is substantially younger than Mike and Sulley. The naiveness about him makes him sort of...attractive. Also, I've always seen him as a sort of just-graduated-uni-and-has-not-much-experiance-in-the-'adult'-world type, because he just seems to have that aura about him. If he had to wear any clothes, I imagine him in a loose jumpery top type thing with long sleeves and a corderoy sling-over bag- uni style.

25? Well I guess I was pretty accurate in my guessing.
Speaking of maturity, Randall always reminded me of the boys in the 'gifted' programs at my school. Still quite young, but tending to gravitate towards the more 'adult' rat-race type world.

Randall has more intellegence than his peers but doesn't seem to want it being something that defines him. Scareing requires skill, but intellegence isn't a major (in most cases) for it.

If intelligence was required to be a successful Scarer, there is NO WAY Sullivan would have ever made it into their ranks, nepotism or no nepotism! Randall's intelligence manifests more as survival skills and mechanical/creative abilities, and he finds an outlet, in a way, by building the Scream Extractor. pitbulllady

Randall reminds me SOOO much of myself at that age, when I thought I really had it made, and had this money-making thing 'cessed. It did not take long, of course, for reality to come up and kick me in the head, just like it was beginning to do with him even before the main events of the movie. pitbulllady

Why would that seem weird? Anything older than that would have been out of sync with his personality. I agree with you on that one though. I like how he always has that extra energy to burn, and the fact that he's willing to go out of his way to play practical jokes on Wazowski. While Mike is the same age(many official Disney sources state that they met in Kindergarten, when Sulley mistook Mike for a STOOL and sat on the little darlin'), he, even moreso than Randall due to being much older, has some serious immaturity issues. True. I wonder what Celia sees in the guy. Usually, types like Mike come off as cheesy, armed with an arsenal of pick-up lines, and annoying. I'd whip out some mace whenever he gets uncomfortably close.

I have NO idea what Celia Mae sees in Mike, but you know the old saying, "Love is Blind". I guess that applies to everyone, no matter how many actual eyes they have! Hopefully, since Celia doesn't seem like the sort of girl who puts up with too much crap, she will either realize what a mistake she's making, OR she will do whatever it takes to straighten him out! She seems like the sort who likes a challenge, but COME ON, GIRL! As for Mike, I don't even really think he's in love with Celia, certainly nowhere near as much as he's in love with HIMSELF! He's more in love with the notion of being in love and having a "steady" somebody, and the attention it brings. Unless he does some major maturing FAST, I just cannot see Mike staying in any sort of give-and-take relationship for long. He has always been the one who calls all the shots in his friendship with Sulley, so naturally he's gonna expect to continue to do so with Celia, only Celia doesn't strike me as the sort of girl who'd play that!

Well....even with all that energy, sleep was still hitting on Randall. Those hits he gave Sullivan in the lab WERE NOT his true fighting potential. Randall hasn't had much fun in his life, so he tries the best he could to have some now. He's...."catching up" now that he's....more-or-less in the adult world. Ugh....to think a jerk like Wazowski had any luck with prom queen Celia is beyond me. Heck. Randall was a bit skeptical when their relationship started. Maybe Celia is a bit of a tomboy at times perhaps... I wonder how Celia would feel about his affair with Roz, Jallubi (ugh name....), and the other fellow female co-workers....

Uhm, "Chalubi" is a GUY, Sean. In several cast listings, his full name is listed as "Juan Chalubi", which is a Mexican or Latino name, and definately a MALE name. Also, I can't even fathom Mike being that popular with THAT many women, PERIOD. Most woman are much smarter than that and would see right through his silly little come-on lines and childish selfishness. And I DEFINATELY cannot even begin to imagine him and Roz! They obviously couldn't stand each other; Mike thought she was crazy and obsessive, and Roz had him 'cessed for the deadbeat procrastinator that he is.
