A similar feeling happened to me when I heard about those other ships! Believe me, I did not even see them, and something tells me you shouldn't, either. I mean, with Randall/Sullivan, AT LEAST they didn't ALWAYS outright hate each other!

Poor Andromeda, sitting in a corner in the fetal position...
Andro: It's all...in...my head...
The thing I hate most is people bashing art and vids, and such. If you hate the pairing that's shown, don't watch/read/look at the picture!

That's another thing I don't like, though I can understand it a little better: the flaming/bashing. I used to be into another "enemy" pairing (I won't mention which, for the sake of keeping you somewhat pure ), until I realized most other people who liked it liked it for the yaoi/mpreg. Anyway, critics were everywhere I went; even on a DA page dedicated to this pairing, some favorites, for some bizarre reason, are completely against the pairing. Again, though, Sullivan, unlike the other two mentioned, has much potential to overcome his differences with Randall; hence, in my case, picturing them as a couple. Also, sorry Andromeda. I hate it myself, if that helps.

Andro: I'm used to being scared for my sanity. Her imagination is a twisted, bloody abyss. Not really. It's much worse Thank you for preserving my innocence. DA can be rather scary. Thus, I shan't make an account. 'Til I get a scanner.

I was honestly reluctant myself, especially since I'm getting closer to 18; thus, few to no restrictions on mature content in the near future. On the other hand, though, you might (emphasis on MIGHT) find more Randall fans that way, just like I did, despite how unusual she might be to some. You don't have to, though; those of us who DO have accounts could do that for you .

xD I might just accept that gracious offer! The more friends the better!
Andro: Just don't bring up Jerry.

I'm going to ignore this "Jerry" ( ), and also add that I also would not recommend an account unless you have lots of art to show off, unlike me.

Which I don't. I'm not going to bother explaining my story Jerry the Magical Floating Disembodied Head. Most of the girl anime fans on DA tend to like yaoi, I have observed.
I shall clear this up. I detest "crack pairings". Rannivan (RandallXSullivan) Does not qualify as such. But I'm just repeating myself and others so I'll shut up now.

You didn't HAVE to go in-depth. Thanks for tolerating "Rannivan," though.

Wowy, some pretty inflamed opinions in the begining... must have been *some* picture.... I meant to comment on this last summer, but then school started and I got buzy...
*ahem* To the topic at hand. I don't see why they (Mike, Scully, and/or Randall) can't be gay. I don't see why they can't be straight. As far as I can see, a character's sexuality in this context is a lot like whether or not they're Jewish. It's a kid's movie, they don't go in to any detail on the subject because it's simply not relvant to the story.
Gay/straight doesn't change the character. Gay=uke/seme/m-preg/explict yaoi anymore than straight=p0rn/vore/preg. Gay =/= male friendship. Gay isn't tied to attractiveness (yaoi fangirls will say otherwise, but Yoai Fangirls are cr-azzzy). Gay is just... loving of the same gender. It happens.
I see Randall and Scully as straight, but that's just me. If someone else sees them as gay, so be it. As long as they develop the relationship (and it would be an interesting development from enemy to friend to more) in well-written, plausible terms, I don't see any reason to whine about it for being slash.
I'll drink to that! =D

^I pretty much agree.
Even though I view both as straight, I think SulleyxRandall is a good enough sounding ship. Characters being paired with their rivals are popular in fanfiction and lead to interesting enough stories. I think they could even of been good friends if they whole "top scarer" thing was never in the picture.
MikexRandall, on the other hand...no...just...no. Just can't see it happening at all.

Oh god Mike x Randall? What the heck would that be like? But.. but they hate each other and II can't even imagine who would be seme/uke. I'm not biased, but Randall is leagues better than Mike.
oh god the sick pairing isn't even worth my composing of thoughts D: /forever scarred

Just browsed on deviantart, and I tried to find some sulley art (only I didn't type in the 'e', since some people spell it differently). Came across some Sulley and Randall slash fanart. Reaaaally weird. I mean I have SOME slash ships, but I tend to treat it just like het. Some I like, most indifferent, some just boggle the mind. Honestly I see both of them as straight for one thing. Of course my first reaction was to laugh outloud at it. I don't view Randall choking Sulley as 'Hawt' or whatever. (I really don't think!) But its STILL a better slash ship then what one of my friends came up with. Mike and Randall. She is a sick, sick woman, but she's my friend all the same. So your views? I'm just wondering where it came from. I could view them as friends in another life... but not... THAT. I think that I actually brought this up here not long ago, since one of the Randall/Sulley "slashers" had just started a story on FF.net, which SEEMED to be promising, but I had a feeling that it was going to become a "slash"-fic. She never updated it, though, which is just as well. I also just came across a pornographic/hentai-style Randall/Mike fan art piece on DA, that burns my eyes just to recall. I'll be honest. I am NOT a fan of "slash", of simply making characters homosexual for the sake of making them homosexual. I guess that must be a young girl-teen or early 20-something-thing, and I am long, long past that age. I'm straight, I have no doubts that I'm straight, and I'm not ashamed of being straight. I have no problems with people being homosexual; you are what you are. I have no problems with there being gay characters in stories or movies or whatever, BUT I DO have a problem with what seems to be an obsession of so many young females of insisting that EVERYTHING but the kitchen sink in every single fandom MUST be gay, or at least bi! If the creators of a particular tv show, movie, book, etc. have a character who is gay, fine. If they simply leave enough evidence that most reasonable people will figure out that the character is gay, fine. BUT, when there is NO evidence at all to that effect, I don't see any point in trying homosexualize those characters in fandom. This especially makes no sense to me when girls who are STRAIGHT want to make every male character gay; especially if it's a character that they themselves claim to find attractive! I mean, doesn't that sorta defeat the point? I can just picture some young girl cooing over the cell phone about some guy, "Oooh, he's so HOT! I hope he's gay so he won't like girls and won't have anything to do with me so all my admiration will be completely WASTED on this guy!" I can ignore slash when it's guys I've never heard of, don't know from Adam's house cat(hey, some fanfic writers would probably make HIM gay, too, him AND his house cat), don't really care about and don't find especially attractive myself, but when it's a guy that I myself find "HAWT", it's like a rude slap in the face. If I find a male character attractive, and I read fanfiction with that character, I'm pretty much like most gals-I don't mind letting my mind wander a bit, and if this character is involved with a female, it's easy to me to identify with her and sorta be able to get with this guy, through her, if you know what I mean. I CANNOT, and I can't emphasis that enough, relate to another GUY, though, in that same situation, and it really "kills" the whole fantasy for me when someone takes a male character that I happen to find attractive, and writes him into a slash scene with another male; it's like they are saying directly to ME, "Now you can't even be with him in your dreams, b****, 'cuzz he doesn't even like chicks, and every time you even try to think about him you're gonna see him gettin' it in the *** by some other dude and lovin' it!" That is like the ultimate cold shower, right there. I can tolerate homosexuals, can respect them and accept them, but they do not "turn me on", so to speak. I'm not fascinated by any "alternative" orientations and the prospect of reading about or watching such an encounter doesn't "do anything for me", I guess you can say. pitbulllady I'm a female of the generation of girls that is into this stuff(well I'm 27, probably a little older than most of them these days but it was a thing with teenagers back when I was a teen too). Anyway, I'm not a fangirl who is really a fan of male x male pairings either.....however I can understand how other females are, even though they are straight girls. It's like how a lot of guys like to watch lesbians. For guys lesbians are hot because they are watching 2 girls instead of seeing just 1 girl with some guy, especially because a number of guys don't necessarily want to see another guy's richard(this is a bit homophobic in a way but whatever, it's still understandable why they might not want to look at another guy's richard and would rather just see 2 women doing stuff). In the case of girls I think it's mostly that some girls get jealous of seeing another girl with the character they like. They don't tend to feel as jealous when it's another man...especially if they find both male characters attractive. Then it's just double hot to them. In my case though I do prefer to see the male character I like with a female because yes, if he likes women then I can picture that maybe he'd think I'm hot too....where as if he likes men there is NO chance he's going to like me. NONE. Unless he's of course bisexual....then everyone wins don't they? lol. Anyway I do have a number of slash pictures of characters I like saved on my computer but this is pretty much only because it's ALL YOU CAN USUALLY FIND. I'd prefer pics of male characters I like with girls but it's rarely what anyone ever draws and it also doesn't help if it's from a series that doesn't have many female characters to begin with....then a lot of characters are just going to end up paired with other male characters by a large portion of the fandom. So yeah, I will save the pics due to it being all that is out there and because I don't have a problem if people want to draw the characters being gay since they have a right to like a gay pairing if that is what they are into, even if it's not as much my thing personally. I highly doubt that Randall is gay either. I usually tend to assume characters are straight until proven otherwise simply because the majority of the population is straight. If some fans want him to be gay though, that is fine, it's what they like. I can understand the process behind it even though it's not what does it for me really.
