*nods* Yes. OH! And everybody...I procured THIS little item from my hunting a few days ago.... As we can see, Randall is healthy, recovered from whatever physical troubles that are apparent, and in effect, HAPPY. *nods* Though I see him now as that kid self of him just enjoying himself and actually having a good time. And yes, Canon of course, which is the blockpost we can use. Here's my theory...at least Pixar-wise as it stands for now. Ran, in conjunction with that pic of everyone walking on the floor and Randall is there to the site, with a hat under one arm, and the Scream Arena game, DOES come back, gets himself the job as main mechanic for the factory, and on the side participates in the "Scream Arena" function to satisfy his competitive side (and in actuallity, I won the game JUST using Randall. He's honestly the best in the game *nods). In fact that does look good for him. He can get the appreciation and respect for keeping M.I. up and running. Of course he might look to better things in the future, but for now it holds. I've seen a few screen caps from that game, including one where Randall is apparently laughing hysterically about something, and the opening/intro where you get to choose which character you're gonna play as, where Randall is grinning like Wilt and gesturing over his shoulder as if to say, "follow ME! This way!" He looks really happy in every screen shot I've seen of that game, not angry, not sneaky, not devious in any way...competitive, yes, but nothing negative. Randall doesn't have to rely on silly, self-depracating slapstick jokes to make kids laugh; his moves mirror those of the famous Harlem Globetrotters-ever seen them "play" basketball, for real? Just their gestures and facial expressions while making utter fools of the opposing team will get laughs a-plenty! Give Randall a basketball, and he'll figure out a way to make kids laugh and impress them at the same time. pitbulllady

WHOOPS! Forgot the image! Here: Oh that's the Laugh Ball if I recall ^0^ Tickle sensation. It's actually VERY funny watching Ran laugh like that ^0^ It's one of the balls that immoblize you for a few seconds. At the end Ran say's "not funny" as if he was being sarcastic, but he wasn't ^0^

Yep, that's the screenshot, but if you look closely, you'll see that Randall just threw a ball at Sulley, rather than just having been hit with one himself. He's just having a really good time, that's all!

You mean in one of the screens right? The large image in the background, Randall was actually throwing a blue (and noted to be the faster ball) ball at Wazowski. But yeah he is *nods* Hehehe...there IS actually a Slime Ball that (well most of the special ones give you a three second opening to hit the victim), when used on Randall makes him go "EEwwwuuugh!" Tehehe ^_^ So noobies...what kind of "lizard" DISLIKES being slimey

Tehehe ^_^ So noobies...what kind of "lizard" DISLIKES being slimey Well, ALL lizards would dislike being slimy, actually, since they're not. Most lizards are like cats; if something disgusting gets on them, they'll stop whatever they're doing to wash it off, or wipe it off with their hands. Snakes are even more "Felix Unger-ish", but the poor things are at a loss as to wiping anything off, with no hands or feet. It's interesting, though, that Randall, a MONSTER, is that fastidious about cleanliness-not surprising, but interesting nonetheless. Most of the monsters seemed keen on being slimy, stinky or otherwise being what most of US would deem disgusting and unpleasant-sort of like dogs, really. While Mike and the others were busy buying "oderant", though, I'd imagine that Randall would try as much as possible to AVOID being smelly-more of those human genes coming out, I guess? It's almost like he tries to be just the opposite of what monster society says is good or cool, with regards to hygiene. Most monsters would LOVE to be hit with a ball of slime...shoot, some of 'em make their OWN slime. pitbulllady

Yes, have two cats myself ^_^ Well can sliter in water ^_-
I think that may have been something Randall was critizied for, both then and in his youth. Guess that shows his own regards to who he wants to impress ^_-

Randall laughs in this? If this game shows him in such a different light from that of the movie, then I really regret having returned it! It was a birthday gift, but seeing as I hardly spend enough time playing videogames, I didn't see much point in keeping it. Now I'm hating myself for it!

Randall is one of the players you get a chance to pick from, and yes, he laughs and generally appears to have a really good time, except when, as Sean pointed out, he gets hit with a "slime ball", lol! Even the cover, as you can see, does not depict him looking "mean" or "sneaky"(Sullivan sure looks like HE has something to hide, though) or any of those "bad" things. Ironically, I believe that BOO is the "boss" on one of the higher levels, so if there is a "bad guy" in the game, it's HER, not Randall! pitbulllady

That is one of the weirdest images I've ever seen. It's not Randall being happy that's doing it for me (I wish we had a chance to see more of that!) but the fact that he's interacting with Mike and Sulley in a positive way. Unless he just likes the fact that he might be hurting Sulley, which I can understand.
Look, I don't know what to think about this whole sequel thing. I really don't. I love Randall as much as the next Randall-fan but a part of me always assumed that if a sequel were ever gonna happen, his part in it would just be ignored and he wouldn't make a return. I don't know if I assumed that he'd died or something but it just always seemed to me to be a very strange concept- MI2 with Randall in it?
And now that this seems like a distinct possibility...Well, I just don't know. A few years ago, when I was younger and more immature and just generally infatuated with Randall, I would've done anything to see more screen time of his, even if he were being portrayed as the bad guy. But now I'm a bit older I'm starting to realise that it's not just Randall's physical manifestation and personality that I fell in love with, but the ideas and meanings behind him. He represents all those people out there who have been in a situation where you're trapped and excluded and an outcast and stereotyped and all that sort of thing. And I'd hate for that to basically be eradicated by a return that makes a mockery out of him.
But I'm someone who's willing to wait and see. Every time Pixar announces a new project, I always get an idea into my head as to what it's going to be like, and it's generally wrong. I don't know much about how Pete Docter has portrayed Muntz and if Docter tends to always go for villains and that sort of thing, I really don't know. I like his creative style but it seems like his storytelling can be a bit questionable sometimes, but at the same time, a different director would, I feel, make the sequel too detached from its predecessor.
Either way, even with what pitbulllady has found out from the comics, we are going on some pretty basic information here. I'm not going to say 'hope for the best' or anything like that, since the exact opposite is more likely, but patiently waiting and seeing seems like the right thing to do at the moment.

I'm not going to say 'hope for the best' or anything like that, since the exact opposite is more likely, but patiently waiting and seeing seems like the right thing to do at the moment. I think what you stated in that third paragraph really sums it up so well, why we(and I believe I am probably speaking for most of us here, the really loyal Randall fans, in any case)love Randall so much. It goes waaaaaaaay beyond just his looks and his moves. If that was all there was to it, then I too, would be happy simply seeing him up on the screen again in the sequel, in any capacity, no matter how he was being portrayed. I never really went through that stage, though, since from the start, what Randall represented to me was all those things you said-all of those who are outcasts, outsiders, different, stereotyped, all who are underdogs, who never can seem to catch a break no matter what, who bust their butts to make ends meet and still seem to get nowhere-Randall was all that, and more. He was ME; he was myself, re-living a hell that I'd already been through, but worse. HE was living through it without a support group of friends and family. I've seen many movies and tv series since I first watched Monsters, Inc., and I'd seen countless others before it ever was released, but I have NEVER felt connected with a character, real or fictitious, like I have with Randall. To see him made into a buffoon, hurt or killed for comic effect or the glorification of Sullivan and Wazowski, AGAIN, would be almost like a personal attack on ME. I know that realistically, he's not real, not in our universe, but the things he represents ARE very real indeed. I'd love to have some optimism, and maybe somewhere, deep down, I DO have it...just a tiny little spark, but I guess like most folks, when they get older and experience enough disappointments, I have become more of a pessimist. I don't want to be that way, but I've learned the hard way that the more hope I put in something really turning out well, the more likely I am to be disappointed. If I set my expectations low in the first place, the more likely it seems that whatever happens will be better than what I thought was going to happen. It's easier to be pleasantly surprised that way. HOPE for the best, but don't COUNT on it. pitbulllady

Yes, he does laugh ^_^ Not to mention does a little funny dan..... .....Sorry about that, he just whacked me over the head not to mention that 0_0 Ahh don't beat yourself up about it ^_^ --------------------------- Yes thahaha ^0^ Not to mention when he gets hit with the sneeze ball. If you thought his one in the film was bad ha ha ^_^ Actually YES. Boo is the LAST character to unlock and sorta the "last boss". Apparently she has a speed faster than Randall's (though he IS still the best, and I beat her first round if I recall). Though I find it sorta irresponsible to have a kid that young involved in a game with dodge-ball quality 0_0 Though then again, suppose they have precautions for that ^_^ --------------------------- Actually the balls don't really hurt. It's more on the level of dodgeball really. And he was actually shooting at Wazowski heh heh. Of course he didn't die 0_- Good that you see that ^_^ I'm not spoiling anything intentionally LG...but Pete portrays Muntz well....but the end for him.....*shakes head* Lets just say if he decides to do the same with Randall, you would wish he didn't appear there at the time. We HAVE been waiting for years. And if there's someway we can get involved NOW before it all comes iron well... ----------------------- And not just you Pitbulllady, but MANY of us. Wonder how Pixar would feel if instead of their film morely entertaining and encapsulating people in wonder, it HURT people. *folds arms* Or more like...Expect the Worst, Hope for Nothing right? *looks down, shakes head* I did believe that some time ago....*blinks* But I can't rely on it...
