Was there any promo stuff for Monsters Inc.? All I seem to know of is a video entitled 'Behind The Screams' (think it's included on the DVD, but I don't know for sure if it's got different stuff on. Acutally bidded on it on Ebay, but lost .) and a CD. I um, *ahem* actually downloaded the CD myself since I could not at all find it anywhere! It actually includes the complete musical score from the movie, including one of my favourite tracks 'Duck And Cover'. But again... was there anything like a Tshirt, Hat or anything like that?

Wasn't that the CD that had "Randall Appears" as one of the scores?

Uh *goes checks tracks on file* No, that track is named differently as "Locker Room, Randall". Tracks that were meshed together on the CD are now entirly seperate making a total of 57 tracks, plus a bonus which is is Randy Newman singing If I Didn't Have You. Here's the picture that came with the download of the blurb.

*demands tracks 7, 24, and 37* ^_^
47 has it's own track? Ugh....
Ever notice for "Randall Appears" (or what it's called or split in this one) has a sorta added "magical-like" whisp in it's score? ^_^

Yes, unfortunatly 47 does . Hmm... I remember that being discussed before in another thread ;D. I have particularly noticed that 'magical' approach with the track. I have to say Randy Newman did a great job on most of the tracks to match the right theme.

Actually I think that was one I started ^0^ I just found it rather strange how they didn't stick with the brass horn sound and went for a sort mystified addition ^_^

Perhaps they were trying to 'hide' something about his personalitly... The sound is a lovely one to hear aswell though. Ok, random, but I've placed a bid now on the same video that is being sold by another sellor. I hope I win this one now... I'd like to see if there is anything different included. I managed to win the Behind The Scenes of A Bugs Life since I don't own the rare 2 Disc version, so I'll watch that soon.

Adding onto this thread, I managed to win that Promotional Video for Monsters Inc. Behind The 'Screams' is necissarily different in some aspects but does contain quite alot of material from the two disk DVD. The price I paid was quite high, but it's worth it when collecting merchindise ;D.
So settling down to watch, the video opened up with the Theatrical Trailer. As by memory, the main featurette appeared. The cast were introduced and it explains about in this 25 minute tour... blah blah blah. Then came Randall's highlight and spot on the video. It was introduced as 'The Villain' and I couldn't help but cuss and sigh at the introduction. It goes on about how 'sneaky', 'mischevious' and 'nasty' Randall is and the interview with Steve Buscemi is basically the same off of the DVD. I was hoping to see something different but once again, it looks like Steve has been once again led to say that Randall is a villian. How I wish I could see a different recorded interview sometime... Steve also said that he is mostly compared to as slithery as a lizard. All in all, Randall was hardly on the video, making him another secondary character in the backrow. But hey, there were funny moments. It then went onto the animation. Sulley however, didn't have much of the spotlight as you would think he would. It was mostly describing 'Mike and Celia's love relationship. But hey, I like Jennifer Tilly so...
I could not help but laugh when Billy Crystal described Mike. He said that he could be genderless ;D. It was also funny when Steve said that he loved to do a good scream. All in all, a good video, but again, not enough Randall. Considering though... it was a brand new VHS with the Novelization.

I recall Steve saying that he wouldn't actually mind Randall as a son...but for the life of me I can't find where it was...

Yes, I remember you mentioning that in another thread where I complained about his interview on the disk.
Have you seen those new pins they've been giving away at Ride and Go Seek? Of course, I haven't BEEN there myself to seen them, but I've been seeing alot of them now on Ebay. Their of him holding a 'fishing' net and basically giving off a fancy pose. I suppose it's a good thing that they decided to include him in more ride merchandise this time *rolls eyes*.

I haven't seen any promotional gear for that here in the US, and there's no Randall merchandise at all at either the Florida attraction or the one in California. I'll have to check out Ebay, though, to see what these new ones look like. pitbulllady

Here we are: i13.ebayimg.com/08/i/001/41/97/35dd_1.JPGThis one looks a bit cartoony...but in any case, ALLOT better than how he looks in the manga they did. In fact he looks kinda younger here, but WHY he'd go with a butterfly net to catch a kid in Japan-lore is beyond me. img.auctiva.com/imgdata/2/3/4/9/4/3/webimg/254681972_tp.jpgThis one's a bit more sleek looking and has the gold outlinning that Randall has luckily been treated to in some of his pins. In contrast to the above, this one looks more like Randall at the time of the film, you can even see his crows-feet below his eyes (you don't see as such in the previous one)

It would be nice if the secend pin had color, though, but like you, I don't get the whole butterfly net thing, OR why Randall would be trying to catch Boo in the first place, with the Scream Extractor destroyed and the factory having switched to Laugh Energy already. That whole plot doesn't make sense at all. pitbulllady

Oh yeah I agree, deformity indeed 0_0 Already? When does this attraction supposedly date from? And it is kind of an insult to Randall to demote him to the some-what classic 'toony-catch-with-net" thing. I mean there making out Randall to be like the troublesome jerk that always appears in each episode trying to catch Boo and Sullivan and Wazowski are always the heros. Jeez...that's as pale a plot for Randall as it is for Swiper in Dora *cringes*
