After reading the story 'A Different Point Of View', I loved it soo much that I decided to do my own version of Randall's thoughts and behavoir throughout the movie. This is really, what I think happened through the course of the two days that changed Randall's life forever... I haven't had that many reviews for it yet, but I don't really mind. As long as people enjoy it ;D. Ok, here it is: www.fanfiction.net/s/4691750/1/Randalls_StoryI've been wanting to share this with you all for a while... and please be gentle with the replies . Here's a small insight... Randall wrote this down in his diary because he thought nobody would find him but luckily, our friend right on this forum came along . PS: Decided to post the link from FanFiction, since I didn't want to take up space, and so far it's currently over 12,000 words .

Me too, if their are any more writers doing any stories? I hate the suspension of unfinished stories . I can tell you I'm up to the part where Randall and Fungus are going to test the SE and then find out it's Mike in the box ;D.

I can tell you I'm up to the part where Randall and Fungus are going to test the SE and then find out it's Mike in the box ;D. Yes, sadly, there are a LOT of really great Randall fanfics that never got finished; either the authors lost interest in Randall and in the movie(which is why most stopped writing their fanfics)or they got tied up with other stuff, like a job or higher education. That's why I haven't written anything in a long time. There's a really good story, called "Connections", that I was really into, but the author has stopped writing it because she is in her final year of University and didn't have time(I know the feeling). Same with one being written by an author, who used to post here a LOT, who called herself "Light Rises"; she had a really good story, that has since been abandoned. I don't think she has anything to do with the movie or its characters now, but has moved on to other interests. In the last "author note"(from October of '08) from the author of "Connections", that writer, who is from Britain, by the way, expressed that she needed to re-write her story because it had too many British phrases and spellings, even though it takes place mostly in New York. Some of us living here in the US have offered to help her with the American slang and word uses, or as I like to think of it, help her "pull a Hugh Laurie", lol! I've helped a young British "Foster's Home" fanfic writer pull of a really convincing South Carolina Low Country "Geechie" dialect for Wilt(he's from Charleston, SC, as revealed in Good Wilt Hunting), so the offer stands for anyone wanting to get the American phrases and spelling right for Randall, too, especially his trademark "Hoosier" twang(haven't yet seen any fanfic which goes into THAT detail-explaining how this guy who talks like he's from rural mid-or-South Indiana and probably could drive a tractor before he could walk wound up in a big East Coast city like Monstropolis). pitbulllady

Hmm... I think I've read that story 'Connections'... yeah, their are alot of great stories . I have at the minute, quite alot of time on my hands, other than doing school homework so I'll still be doing my fic. I'm trying to put in as much detail as I can because I want the story to be like what Randall would actually do and to make it more imaginable. I'm restorting to completing each chapter bit by bit... I used to do one chappy every day, but I know I won't have the time and I have other stuff on my mind. I've also gotten hooked into reading Joker, Horton Hears A Who and especially Randall fics (of course) so I have to satisfy that need ;D

*shrugs* Things come up I guess...that and some situations at Fanfiction can make it difficult. *folds arms* For instance, Ran does get attacked (as I was informed tonight actually) on the forum there and there are some nasty reviewers (though thankfully in that category, there are very rare).
*pokes own stories with a stick* ^0^
*nods* It's best to spread out chapters instead of putting them all on at some time. It's annoying when someone posts a 20 chapter story in one day and, as a fan you feel obligated to read and are like "ugh....ALL THAT?" ^0^

It's annoying when someone posts a 20 chapter story in one day and, as a fan you feel obligated to read and are like "ugh....ALL THAT?" ^0^ Thankfully there have not been very many outright Randall-haters on the forum on FF.net, since it IS a RANDALL forum, moreso than just a Monsters, Inc. forum(and yes, I've had to remind a few folks of that fact). There've been a few anti-Randall fanfics there, too, BUT you'll notice that they don't get any reviews, which shows the writers that by far, Randall IS the most-popular character from the movie, and "dissin'" him is not going to get you any respect as a fanfic writer at all! Most of the "Randall is pure evil" shiznit is not so much because the writer hates him, but because they LIKE him BECAUSE they think he's evil, because they themselves are into some Goth/Emo/quasi-Satanic/rebellious brat teen/self-destructive phase, and they think being "evil" is very cool and trendy. Case in point- that little 13-year-old idiot punk kid on DA who blasted all of us who believe that Randall is a victim of circumstances, and his behavior stems from a bad childhood and having been treated unfairly and taken advantage of at work(like SHE has any experience in such matters herself, at the ripe old age of 13)...you know, the one who drew the pic of Randall ripping Boo's head off? As for the FF.net forum, most of the "Randall is evil" posters ARE open-minded and once the facts are pointed out to them, are more like, "Oh, yeah, NOW it makes sense". Other than the occasional "slashers" who want Randall and Sulley or Mike to have a gay relationship, there's usually not too much negativity there. At least, it's not like the old Boggs' Board in THAT respect! pitbulllady

*points to the current forum on FF.net and new trouble-maker* Yes, I just checked it out, even before I came back here, and yes, I left the little darlin' a reply! Anyone who calls themselves "Sweet Possum" CAN'T be too bright, and they can't even spell the word, "went"! Probably at the most, a 13-year-old, if not too young to even be on FF.net. DEFINITELY not someone old enough to have a job, that's for sure! Here's her post, for anyone else who wants to respond, in which she refers to Randall as a "mean, selfish looser(yeah, she can't spell "loser", either-what a genius!)": www.fanfiction.net/topic/25309/1460483/2/#11761227 . pitbulllady

Although myself I encourage we NOT "example" this person further as they seem to understand the point thanks to Pitbulllady's great defense....only because I don't want to see this person being pushed and "putting oil on the fire" as it were and have them come out to be a true basher...

Sean, they already ARE a "true basher", and if they can't be convinced otherwise, then at least if enough folks rally to Randall's support, they'll get the point and LEAVE. If they don't, then hopefully they'll get riled up to the point of posting something that will get them banned, like admitting they're only 12 or using profanity or resorting to direct personal attacks. If you're a Randall supporter, then show it! Use logic, the best weapon of all, to point out their flaws. pitbulllady

*folds arms* Though I thought that FF.net was growing a bit lacky in that department. I am Ran's strongest supporter, you know that. Just don't want our new supporters getting unnessasarily attacked.

I'm glad that that person didn't say anything else to obligate the point when you did the perfect explanation to prove him wrong Pitbulllady... but I know that person is never going to like Randall... I must admit, that when I was around 6 years old when the movie first came out, I DID think Randall was a villain back then. But I was too young to understand that what he did was not his idea... After viewing MI after a long time, THAT's when I became hooked in Randall again, and I started surfing the nets for things on him. This was before i joined that I found this forum. I just didn't have enough courage back then . I read through as many posts as I could, answering some of the questions I already had buzzing in my mind. Finally after two WHOLE months, I decided to join and help my support in fighting the battle for Randall. Before I'd surfed the net for Randall things, I never knew that FanFiction existed and I was transported into a different world where people right their best works up, just for being a fan. To my joy their were loads of Randall fics and I got started right away... then of course, I started making my own. I'm soo glad that soo many people agree with each other about what happened to Randall and I sure the monster himself is proud .
