Is Teddy that really awesome guy who has the frizzy hair who has the "What's up?" conversation with Hud?

No. Teddy went missing before the movie began, but his girlfriend Jamie can be seen passed out on the couch at the beginning of the movie.

Daw... cause if Teddy was the "What's up?" guy, I'd totally make a sequel starirng him.
I can seeing now:
"Cloverfield: What's up man?".
*Generic random monster destroys the town*
"What's up man?"
*RAAAR!*

You should see the deleted scene with the guy your talking about Bert. ;D
Also the sequel could be a prequel that has to do with Ted's disappearance. He could have been with a group of people digging deep into the Earth's crust and they're the ones who found it, woke it up, made it in a lab, caused it's hostility.

Yeah, that scene was really funny, but I can see why they cut it since the party was ungodly long.
That's what I was thinking Teddy worked for, umm, I forgot. So many companies in this thing. But he did work for a company that was working out in the ocean and he always talked about "the cause" or something like that. Then Jamie ate that stuff that he told her not to eat. Maybe that can go to the "Clover only eats people who drink Slusho" theory. One of Slusho's main ingredients is a product found deep in the ocean. Possibly what makes it so addictive. Perhaps Clover is addicted to it also, but in a different way. I don't believe that Clover was made. I think that it had been resting at the bottom of the ocean for a really long time and was woken up when the satellite fell.

Haha, yeah I've seen that. I laughed so hard.
Anyways, the "Clover only eats people who drink Slusho" theory doesn't make much sense at all. Unless Clover can smell the INSIDE of people and really, really, really liked Slusho, THEN I could see it happening. Otherwise, it sounds like rubbish. Or something.
Anyway, if they're gonna make a sequel, they should have Clover's parents destroy a city, only not with the 1st person view. Because, let's face it: While it WAS a cool idea, the climax of the film didn't feel right since they didn't actually show the monster getting bombed and manhattan being destroyed. The sequel should be filmed the way movies are NORMALLY filmed.

Or the original earthquake was just an earthquake and the ocean liner that tipped over landed on him/her/it.
EDIT: Or was it an oil ship?
2nd Edit: The 1st person veiw is still a neat idea. I'de like to see where they go with it.

I thought Clover attacked the oil ship. Then what's with the satellite? I really need to rewatch the movie.
I don't think it's too farfetched that Clover could smell the heavy Slusho drinkers. And the other movies have to be in 1st person. That was the best feature about the film. It made you more concerned about the characters than the monster, which is rare in a creature feature. We didn't see Clover bombed because Rob and Beth didn't see Clover bombed. Abram's didn't want us knowing anything the characters didn't in the movie. I think we'll slowing begin to understand Clover as the movie goes on. I don't believe there is more than one of the creatures. They said Clover was "like" a new born just waking. Not that is was a new born.

There is no deal with the Sattelite. It just fell from the sky.
Also, JJ Abraham Lincoln announced a Cloverfield 2 at the San Diego comic con. W00t! But he said it would be a "Surprise".

It turns out the entire thing was a marketing video for Slusho. Think "Evolution" (the movie) with the hair care product.

It was? Hmmm...
Annoying guy: Hey everybody! Drink Slusho!
*Clover destroys a skyscraper*
Annoying guy: It'll make your stomach explode with happy!
*Clover destroys 3 other buildings*
Annoying guy: Cloverfield drank it!
Clover: OMG STFU N00B!!11!

Well to be honest, it's a hard choice. I mean Godzilla's got that breath and is also very resiliant. Then again, Clover survived, supposedly, an army of an attack, then again so did Godzilla I think. And Clover's also got help on his side as parts of him become those little creature things. So Godzilla probably has the power while Clover has the assistance.
