At that point my brain exploded.
SERIOUSLY PIXAR. Seriously.
Also, the whole glasses thing really seems to be one of those situations where someone says something without realising the impact it might have on the other person- here's Mike making a relatively innocent remark, not the nicest of things but sort of fair, and there's Randy who clearly took it really to heart.
And I love his keenness to socialise- I know we already knew that he wanted to make friends but seeing it written like that really emphasises just how much he wanted to meet people and integrate and have a bit of fun alongside studying.
I also like the fact that Mike and Randall are paired by their size as well; again, this is something we've seen before, that all of the other Scare students are much bigger than them, but it's interesting that Randall, from such humble and nervous beginnings, was able to rise up as a truly great Scarer, whilst Mike had to change paths entirely.
And finally- "but this might be our only chance to get in with the cool kids". AWW. And he thinks baking
cupcakes is going to get him in with the crowd?! Randy has to be the most naive monster ever, I mean his lack of comprehension of what most would consider 'cool' is beyond adorable. He must've been both sheltered and outcast as a kid.
Oh god, this is too much.
