Nice job.
Great hopeless theme, the bleak gray lighting with a single white circle for Randell to stand on, like a spotlight on an empty stage- really brings out the tragity of the cause. So too does the pose, the arms slack and the posture slumped, clearly not expecting any help. I'm not too sure of the single tear trailing his cheek- while emotive, it sort of detracts from the overall impression of the piece. But perhaps I'm being too judgemental; I hate seeing male characters, especialy ones I'm fond of, weeping.
I suggest smoothing out the edges of the white circle, the irregular bumps are a bit distracting, and there's a white line beside the circle that doesn't really fit (probably just a "typo" but you should remove it)... Black would be a little more professional looking as a background colour, but the grey does work... just an option on the colour, by no means feel pressured to change from grey to black!
A great piece overall. I like it. ^^
