Yeah, he tries to confuse the nation but just ends up looking stupid.

"They misunderestimated me."
"I'm looking forward to a good night's sleep on the soil of a friend."
"Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."
"I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family."
"Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?"

I feel sorry for those troops that have been previously stuck in Iraq when I'm sure that they'd much rather be in New Orleans helping out.

What really angers me is that the always brilliant Bush has finally admitted that the people affected by all of this would've got more help with evacuation and survival if most of America's troops weren't way over in Iraq. Obviously starting a war is more important than saving his own people.

There were four pages in the newspaper my family gets dedicated to showing what's been going on in America. It looks terrible, and it quoted an American official saying that New Orleans may not be in a liveable state for something like three, or more, months.

I heard on the news that although several states were devastated by Katrina, apparently it veered off course at some point, so the destruction could've been a lot worse. It was amazing hearing from some Americans who had been affected by it all saying how relieved they were! Not exactly an emotion I'd be expecting in the wake of such a disaster!

Yeah, ditto. I've been hearing a bit about it on the news- makes me feel lucky to be living in a place where hurricanes are very, very rare. The amount of destruction they can do...Some countries in the past have been put into deep debt just trying to clear up and rebuild what the hurricane has destroyed. They're terrible, but, in a weird way, beautiful, I think.

It's so annoying when things happen to people but because they don't have enough 'power', they can't do anything about it.

And these kinds of things are things that us 'little people' really can't do anything about.

Yeah, when I was finding out about Katrina and, eventually, Rita, and I came across so many experts saying that something like this had been long due.
