"Midnight Girl" still has all nine puppies, born mostly after midnight(no pun intended)on March 15. There are six boys and three girls. Color-wise, there are four which are solid black at this point(though they will probably develope some brindle on their faces and paws, like their mom), one black-and-tan, and four grey or blue merles(spotted). So far she is being a very good mom-HATES to leave her babies even to go outside to relieve herself.

Wow, really? They sounds lovely! I've never really been a big fan of dogs myself- I'm more of a cat person- and so that's why I've never had one before, along with the fact that where I live, I'm not allowed any pets. (Hence the cat, Chilli.) ;D The black and tan sounds beautiful.

They sound wonderful!! Do they have names yet? I'm a huge dog person, but I'll admit that I don't think I've ever actually met a Catahoula in real life! I know from seeing them on TV and in books that they are beautiful dogs.

Nope-no names yet(ever try coming up with NINE names at the same time?); besides, I don't even know at this point if I will be keeping any of this litter. I usually come up with little nicknames as the pups grow and start to develope personalities, but right now, their eyes are still closed and all they can do is whine and crawl around and nurse. When the new owners get their pup, I leave the naming up to them. All nine are doing well, though, which is VERY good for a mom's first litter. Usually the first-time moms are a bit overwhelmed and end up squashing one or two pups, but so far, this has't happened. I just hope that at least some of the merle pups will end up with the ice-blue eyes that many merle Catahoulas have, since they do look so cool!

Well Pitbulllady....you could at least suggest names that you come up with. I mean heck....it's not like when you adopt an orphan, no pun intended for you Randall, you name them.
You can suggest the names you have given them when, if, they get new owners. They're still part of your life no matter what ^_^

I got my Brittany from a breeder...we named him Rusty, and I'm not sure what he was called by the breeders before we got him. Anyway, I'm really glad to hear that they're doing so well!!! And also...naming things is one of my passions. ;D What I wouldn't do for someone to show me a couple dozen litters of puppies and kittens to name! That's because I actually keep lists of all my favorite names...and they keep growing. ;D Let me just say that my dogs' names are Molly, Casey, and Rusty. These were choices made primarily by my family, since I prefer less common names. (All 3 of those are in the Top 50 most popular pet names in America...) In fact, none of our dogs have actually been named by me...Nipper, Floyd, Jack, Boomer. None of them. Some pets I did name? Petrucchio the mouse...alll the fish, including Mercedes, Renshaw, Denali, etc...Ernest the rabbit...not the geckos or the frogs or the bird...Mrs. White the hamster (after my first grade teacher)...Sucrose the white mouse? No, she was named by my science teacher...ummm, who else...all the other little things...anyways, I think that's it. ;D A lot of those names aren't favorites of mine, but......anyway I've gone off on a tangent about all my old pets. ;D

You've had so many pets!!! In my lifetime, I've had one hamster (Hammy. I did NOT name him that, but my dad thought Hammy would be a 'cool' name.) two gerbils (Bijou and Chico, who I DID name) and the latest member of our family, Chilli, the cat, named for the red stripe down her back. ;D And that's it. In fourteen years, four pets.

Yeah. He was a nice little guy too....
Me and my mom brought him when the one in our classroom (We swere studying them, taking care of them) disappeared.
Like the good person I am, I got one as a replacement, and later, pet. Sadly...he dehydrated....
Poor guy....makes me a afraid of what would happen to Randall if he didn't have any water....

I always thought animals like geckos were really hard to look after.
