Are you super stitious? Like if you spill salt, will you throw it over yer shoulder? If you walk under a ladder, would you freak?
I'm super stitious on some levels. The salt, the cat, the ladder and the crow are the only things I actually think will give you bad luck. Oh and thr mirror thing.
The reason I'm putting this up is because tomorrow is friday the 13th. I don't think it's a bad luck day. The number is, but not the day. I just think people made it up. So.... Yeah...I know, kinda stupid. but meh.

It's odd, since I'm really into all that supernatural kind of stuff, but I'm actually not superstitious. I guess because I've done most of the things you're not supposed to do (opening umbrellas indoors, walking under ladders, stepping on cracks, etc) so many times and experienced that nothing bad ever seemed to have been brought on by it. My grandma is the most superstitious person I know.
....however, I do like the song! ;D

What makes Friday the 13th SO different(nobody answer ^_^) Mwaha, I'm gonna answer anyway. ;D I'm so evil. 13 is already an unlucky number, but I believe that in some religion (Christianity? Don't call me on that, though) Friday is the unluckiest day of the week (sorta like an inverted Sunday, you know?), therefore, logically, the unluckiest day of the week + the unluckiest number = really unlucky day.

That you are...
I guess I sorta do believe the origions of superstitions...but then again I can tell between which ones are false and which be true..... Heck. I have a black cat that LIVES around us. Sure. He's a stray, but he protects the house....

Wasn't 13 the number of people at the Last Supper? I think I've heard that as an explanation for why the religion considered 13 an unlucky number...

I don't think religion has anything to do with SuperStition.....IMO.. I just think that Pegans MADE it an unlucky day, considering it's number. Either that, or they did something REALLY REALLY awful on a friday on the 13th of a month. Pegans made up almost everything. Gods (planet's names), Halloween, curses, ect. Most things that MOST religious people would find "simply outragious". And by most, I mean people of certain faiths, not just a one group.

Sorry if I offended you in someway. I didn't mean to. It's okay. I was just about to call you on that comment too. You have to remember, everything that we have today (I mean like, "culture", the way people act/react, the names of things, traditions, etc.) all come from a variety of sources, not just the "pagans", you know? It's an amalgamation/patchwork of sources, mostly from Europe in the "Western" cultures like ours, that were collected over centuries. 'Sides, the names of the months don't come from the "pagans" (man, I hate using that word) - they mostly come from Rome (I believe). For example, August comes from "Augustus" who was a Roman emporor, and "June" comes from "Juno" who was a Roman goddess of some sort (Tradition? Marriage? Something like that). Then there's the really weird sources like "April" (comes from " aprilis" or something similiar - meaning "boar" in latin. ; ) ...Yeah, I have lots of useless information cluttering up my memory. I can remember the latin word for "boar" anytime but can't label the parts of a vegitable cell during a science test!

I do Latin at school, and my favourite Latin word HAS to be 'superbum'- arrogant! And, no, I'm not really suspicious, but I agree with Beboots- all these type of things have sort of built up from all sorts of sources over the years. ;D
