*kills England for not ever having any kind of reptile show whatsoever* England does have reptile shows, though I don't know how they compare to the ones here, never having been to one. There aren't as many of them, probably due to the fact that the reptile hobby in England hasn't been around as long as it has here in the US, and THAT is probably due to the fact that you don't have as many species of reptiles over there. Most people here, like me, got interested in snakes and stuff because we were always finding them when we were kids. pitbulllady

Well, I've never seen one advertised, and if we do have any, they're probably pretty pathetic compared to the ones in the US. The best we get concerning reptiles is at the zoos, and although the exhibit at London Zoo is very extensive, the animals have hardly any space to MOVE, let alone escape the eyes of the visitors. The biggest enclosure for any of the reptiles is the Komodo Dragon pen, and seeing those animals was absolutely amazing! Though I couldn't help but notice that, for their size, they didn't have much room to really move around either, and there was hardly any vegetation or anything to make the enclosure look more authentic.

I will have to post a message on a bulletin board I'm on, which is mostly devoted to arachnids, but they do have a section on vertebrates, too, primarily reptiles. There are several members in England who have snakes and tarantulas, so maybe they can provide a list of shows. Trouble is, most of 'em are going to be held in London or other large cities, and if you're not close, it might present a problem.

Well, I'm about an hour and a half's drive from London, which isn't too bad, but, because of my age, I can't exactly just drive up there. The closest main cities to where I live are Southampton and Portsmouth, so if there's anything there, I'd definitely be interested, though I have had a look around on the net, and there doesn't seem to be much.

Nope, no relation to Winchester, Worcester, or anything with 'ester' at the end. As a matter of fact, that suffix that quite a few cities in England use originated with the Romans who named our cities when they invaded. ;D
