*scratches head* Uhh.... Hey! Why are we discussing school? It sucks.... ;D It may seem that way, but it does provide a good education. Its a pretty valuable thing to get, and it can provide quite a lot of opportunities. It is hard I know, but it has a long-term reward.

You wake up, tired. You go to school. You learn stuff. You forget it. You go home. You eat. You sleep. Then you do it all over again. Isn't Job Training enough? I mean heck, EVERYON hates school

*I* hate school....and *I'M* the TEACHER!!! The whole public school system in this country, and especially in this state, is as corrupt as anything Henry J.Waternoose could ever conceive of, trust me. Kids are seen as assembly line products, a means of getting more and more Federal and state dollars, nothing more. Sure, the Principals and school board members(EVIL incarnate)and District Superintendents(High Priests of Evil)give lip service to just being there to help children succede, yada yada yada, but it's just a big joke. Teachers are viewed, well, in pretty much the same was that Randall was by HIS boss-a means to an end, an EXPENDABLE means to an end, people to be used up and tossed aside.

Hmmm... reminds me of a thought I had once... about the country in general. PLEASE don't take this the wrong way.
I consider it interesting that education is the best tool out there, and yet many state gov. tend to underfund and all that. Apparently, they either miss the point, or they don't care.
Oh and Pitbullady, do you have Channel 1? I've heard some pretty negative things about that.

Nope, no Channel 1. Years ago, at another school I worked at in my district, we had it; it would come on each morning at around 8. I actually enjoyed it myself, but it wasn't "hard-core" enough for our students, who were all into "Gangsta Rap" and stuff like that. That school, which was otherwise quite successful, was closed down by our illustrious school board because it was housed in an old building, and they felt it would be much cheaper to bus those kids hours each day to other schools and cram them into already-crowded classrooms elsewhere, and to build additions onto two other schools to help house them. In the long run, the cost of doing things the board's way FAR, far exceded the cost of remodeling the old building and keeping the kids there, plus it created all sorts of overcrowding problems and issues with parents who naturally objected to their kid spending four hours each day on a bus. The school board could care less about what parents want, though, or what's actually best for kids, only what they think makes THEM look good.

Man, I'm so glad that I go to school here, then. I got to Paul Kane highschool, who's motto is "So much more than core", meaning that we have quite a few Advanced Placement courses, courses in French (great for me, as I took French Immersion) as well as many other language courses (Spanish, Japanese, French, German, even Arabic [even ESL - English Second Language]). This is all made possible because we're very good at fundraising, we're in a rich town, etc. All the teachers are nice, our violence/crime is practacly nil, and our classes are decent sized (my Legal Studies class has only twelve people, but that's an exception).

I agree that school rox. My sox. ;D Zelda and I both go to Chi High, and our school motto is "Together we aspire, together we achieve." MOST of the teachers are nice, but some of them are just plain insane, like our art-teacher, who said that Zelda had thrown a 'missile' at him when it was in fact a paper aeroplane which wasn't even AIMED at him, and the same teacher who said that I 'stabbed' him when I handed over a pencil to him. Idiot. ;D
