Anybody read the book or seen the movie? My school did a play about it and my sister is in it! She got the part of Magnet.

I read the book (is that the one with Stanley Yelnats?) and I've seen the movie. I liked the book better; it seemed wittier, and they couldn't do the whole fat-to-skinny thing with live actors.

I've sorta skimmed the book(which is very popular with my students), but never saw the movie. I DO know the reptile breeders who supplied the Bearded Dragons that played the part of the "deadly" Yellow-Spotted Lizards, though. They had a tough time getting the child actors to act afraid of them, since virtually everyone who sees a Beardie up close fall in love with these things! They are so people-oriented, and BEG for attention, it's hard not to want to pick them up and cuddle them, spines and all.

That's so cool! Knowing people like that. You can feel a part of the film industry by association ;D (for example, my English teacher, last term, was a professional swordsman who's worked with the guy who taught the actors of the Lord of the Rings how to use swords believably - so cool).

I've only seen a bit of the movie but not enough to know the story. I DID get to see one of those little guys attack though ^_^

Read the book first, then saw the film- both are great. I prefer the book, but it does translate very well as a film, and the boy who plays Stanley is very good.

Anybody read the book or seen the movie? My school did a play about it and my sister is in it! She got the part of Magnet. OH YEAH! Magnet Rocks!!!! Heh, well anyways the play was over on March 25th. But on the plus side, I met new friends. ;D I love acting, and I'm going to sign up for the next school play, no matter WHAT! ;D Oh, yeah. I've read the book and seen the movie. I think both are great. Louis Satchar wrote another book called "Small Steps." I was reading it but never really got to finish it. I'll work on it though, even if it doesn't have ALL the D-Tent boys.

Oh! Didn't he also write Sideways Stories from Wayside School? I remember those...pretty funny books. He's REALLY good at school targetted comedy. ^_^
