Except he's human, wheres black and white, and can shoot blue beams and has rocket boots.....
Makes you wonder how he would square up against Randall in a mechanics competition.
Hmmm.....idea for Characters!

Boy, you should see the fight they have when she finds he's still alive ..... yeah, I tried to kill him but I couldn't. xP My friend says I liked the creep too much ... lol Speaking of which, are you going to update your fic on FF.Net, the one in which Buddy and Mirage have a daughter? I can imagine that this couple WILL have quite a nasty quarrel, once she gets over the shock of him NOT being dead. They have a lot that needs to be gotten out in the open, if this thing is going to work. There's that little incident in the containment room that got under Mirage's skin so badly(can't say I blame her, either); I watched it today, up close, on my computer where I can pause it. She actually had tears in her eyes when she gets up off the floor and looks at Buddy, and he just doesn't get it-too busy enjoying his little "victory" in what basically amounted to a "p***ing contest", like two male dogs challenging each other. And then, HE ain't gonna be too happy when he learns who helped his former idol and family escape to the city, is he? Yeah, the emotional tension released in this little "lovers' schpit"(quoting Lisa Douglas from "Green Acres')is gonna rival the last eruption of Mt. Pinotubo! But, if they can weather this particular hurricane, their relationship ought to become really strong, since they really won't have anymore nasty little secrets to get in between them...at least until her long-lost brother shows up! Speaking of Buddy, I really noticed(love this close-up screen and pause/slow feature on my new USB DVD player)how quick and agile HE is! Right after he reintroduces himself to Bob(after the Omnidroid kicks Bob's butt), Bob uproots a tree and throws it at him, REALLY fast, and Buddy just dodges it-WITHOUT using the rocket boots-with as much ease as Randall dodging the Scream Extractor when Sulley threw it at HIM. Now THAT is pretty darn impressive for a human, and one who's not supposed to be a "Super" human, at that. Either Buddy has had some serious Martial Arts training, or he DOES have natural abitities quite beyond those of ordinary humans after all, and just doesn't realize it. I mean, most of those geek-types have trouble not tripping over their own feet just walking around, but then, all the ones I've known were either these scrawny little runts or really, really overweight, not the least bit muscular and athletic. pitbulllady Wow, your DVD player lets you zoom in?! Lucky! ;D I have been screencapping that movie, and Mira has some of the greatest expressions I've ever seen--but then, that just supports that she's related to Randall, now doesn't it?! Anyway, I wish I could see the close-up with the tears...certainly had a feeling they were there, but it's tough to see without zooming in. I did end up tossing together 2 'mirage collages' though.. ;D...one with a particularly scandalous-looking picture from the special feature gallery. But also, I think you're dead on with Buddy's physical agility (a strong, athletic guy who's also got a geek in him?! How great is he!) and with the possibility of more government/military involvement there...and with the sort of dual meaning behind the line on the self-destruct tape. The part where she walks into Bob's cubicle, too, is so great!-there's definitely no way one could miss her.

Yep, I can zoom in, but only while it's on "Pause", not while it's playing.
Speaking of screen caps, how do you get those? I really want to be able to get some caps from this movie and from M.I. now that I have a DVD player hooked right up to my computer. You'll have to give me directions step-by-step, like "STEP One-yada yada yada", and so forth, since I am NOT a geek(unlike some people who shall remain nameless at this point)and any technical stuff has to be explained to me very carefully and in layman's terms. I'd also like to see the "scandalous" screen cap you're talking about, since I don't think I've seen it yet. Most of the time in the movie, Mirage is dressed like an attorney and carrying that ubiquitous notebook(though I noticed that right before she and Buddy have their little falling out, it's actually something like a Wacom tablet, and the pen is more like a light pen, not one which writes in ink)around with her.

Except he's human, wheres black and white, and can shoot blue beams and has rocket boots..... Makes you wonder how he would square up against Randall in a mechanics competition. Hmmm.....idea for Characters! I hate to say it, but I'm afraid that even Randall couldn't stack up to Buddy when it comes to inventing stuff. Just look at the sheer VOLUMN of things he invented on that island, not to mention the complexity and brilliance of design. His inventions were designed not merely to be functional, but asthetically pleasing as well...for the most part, anyway(can't say I'd want to have an Omnidroid as a yard ornament). On top of that, many of the inventions clearly defied what we think we know about physics, like the wall of lava that just parts down the middle to let someone though, then closes back up, and of course, the use of zero-point energy, itself one of the things that modern physisists are still trying to comprehend and harness(though I swear this is what the CDA does to the restaurant in M.I., so that technology must already exist in the Monster World). When you stop and take into account that Buddy is actually about three years YOUNGER than Randall, and then consider all the things he's already invented, many of which we don't see, it's mind-boggling. I just don't see how he could have had time to do all that. There's no way he could have gone to high school or even college, and still gotten all that accomplished by the time he was 25 or 26, but then, with that kind of intelligence, he really didn't need to. To be fair to Randall, though, Buddy most likely did hire a team of designers and engineers to help bring his creations to fruition, whereas all Randall had was Fungus! I still get the impression that Buddy probably came from a family which was certainly not lacking in money, although in family affection they probably left much to be desired, so he's never really known what it's like to be broke or to have to struggle to make ends meet, financially. If Randall had had plenty of money from the get-go, he would never have invented the Scream Extractor. Still, no matter how powerful or rich you are, there's always somebody who can take advantage of you and tell you what to do, and more and more I'm thinking that there was SOMEBODY in the shadows, probably back in Washington, who was calling the shots insofar as Buddy's military inventions were concerned, somebody he'd rather not cross, and who was providing a cover-up for the operations on that island. pitbulllady

Sure thing. Now, screencaps are really simple to do--if you've got the right kind of DVD player, which I hope you do. Because I have several, and the only one that allows me to take caps is the one on my computer called the Intervideo WinDVD player. It was already installed on the computer when I bought it (which was a couple months back). When a DVD begins playing, the control bar 'remote' on the bottom of the screen contains a small button with a camera-shaped icon on it. All you need to do to take a picture of the screen at any moment is to press that button. Another window opens with all of the pictures you've taken, and allows you to save or delete them one by one or all at once. It saves them automatically into a folder under 'My Pictures' called 'WinDVD captures,' as bitmaps. For better quality (less blurry pictures), it helps to pause the screen before pressing the screencap button. Of course..if you don't have this player, it *might* be possible to hit the "print screen" button on the keyboard (to the right of all the F keys on the top). This supposedly copies a picture of whatever is on the computer screen at the moment to the clipboard, so that you can then open up Paint and hit 'paste.' The image will be on the Paint document and you can resize it, save it, etc. I've only used this a couple times and it definitely sounds like it's more trouble than just using the Intervideo win player, but then, I don't know where you get this player unless it comes with the computer as it did on mine. Oh, and this is the picture; I'm not sure who the guy is or what's going on, but..must've been an early concept.. ;D img.photobucket.com/albums/v366/Fkmfj/Dollz/incredible.bmp

Well RFU has some of Randall's best screen caps.....but I guess if you want your own....
Well remember. Buddy was DEDICATED to inventing weapons and inventions. It was his LIFE. I'm sure if Randall didn't want to be a Scarer, and had NOT been treated as a minority, he could match up to Buddy.
Zero-Point energy. Amazing. Think of that in our military....heh heh......would be devestating for ALL sides...
Also note Randall's an orphan. Buddy had his parents....
Well Pitbulllady.....you "hiding in the shadows" idea is pretty universal. There's someone hiding behind to protect Buddy's "service" as a weapons developer.
And also there was someone hiding behind M.I. as well.....and I'm not talking about Waternoose.....

Yes, that's true. Developing those inventions WAS pretty much Buddy's whole life, whereas Randall was a dedicated Scarer first and foremost...well, there's only one thing to do. Put those two on Monster Garage or whatever one of those race-to-build-the-best-thing-the-fastest shows are called on Discovery Channel and see who emerges victorious. ;D

Already done. It will be in Characters later on. Since Incridibles was the latest Pixar film, it won't appear for a bit, but believe me. It is GONNA BE GOOD!
