Well...I have a confession to make - I really do love this movie! I take a lot of abuse for enjoying it. The puppetry is amazing, and looking at the character notes by Brian Froud and Jim Henson, they are very deep and well thought out. With fascinating characters and layers. Amazing sense of suspended reality. A great, great film despite some 80s cheesiness. Some very frightening scenes though, I certainly wouldn't show it to a kid under 9. I personally enjoy the creepiness.
Although as a child it gave me a very frightened, sick feeling.
for you fans - favourite Skeksis? Chamberlain (a little creepy, though. I love how his face was mechanized to smile, while the other's just flapped.) and Skek Tek (Gross, sadistic character in Froud's description - really interesting and spooky.)
P.S. - Special edition DVD along with Labyrinth coming in August!

Wait a minute... no love? I loved this movie and still do! It's just... the people around me in my 'school envoirement' don't... sadly. I especially like the Skeksis! The evilness... Jim Henson did an awesome job on the puppets in the movie! ;D

Yay! Hmm... it looks like it's been in Pre-Production for several years. Anyway, at least there is a scheduled release date for it . Very exciting! I'll be definatly seeing that when it arrives in cinemas!

Hmm... yeah. Sometimes the rumours I hear don't actually turn out to be true. Like for instance, some of the rumours I had heard about Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire (now that was quite a while back now ). That is kind of a different situation since I had read the book before it had came out... I thought that they were going to follow the scene where Harry meets up with Sirius at Hogsmede, but that definatly didn't follow through. But it doesn't make the film less great. Hey that rumour from that magazine may be true. After all, unlike the Internet that can be changed, magazine's are by companies who check everything before they print and go 'behind the scenes' as you may call it. Although, I would hardly put any rumours as reliable evidence until an official hearing is found, but that's just me.
