Well I'm unsure if it'll have no or limited commercial interruption.

Pitbullady: Personally, I dislike crossovers. It is one thing to suspend my disbelief for one imaginary universe, it is too much to do so for two completely unrelated ones simultaneously.

Pitbullady: Personally, I dislike crossovers. It is one thing to suspend my disbelief for one imaginary universe, it is too much to do so for two completely unrelated ones simultaneously. I have no problem doing so; after all, I've long been a fan of many "imaginary universes", from the hilarious adventures of Arthur Dent and Co. in Douglas Adams' wonderful masterpieces(which receive almost weekly tribute in Craig McCracken's series), to those of the Pixar characters. Anyone who watches Foster's Home cannot help but notice the similarities there between it and M.I., and it's no accident. Craig McCracken graduated from CalArts along with many of the Pixar writers and animators, and is friends with many of them. Besides, Randall is no longer part of the Monster World in M.I.; he lives in the Human World, which is also where Foster's Home is located. I have no trouble understanding that many "banished" monsters would be mistaken for children's Imaginary Friends and seeking refuse there as such. It also is not difficult to theorize that the "Mons" of "History of the Monster World" could very well have been primitive Imaginaries, created by some of the first children, but that their origins would be misunderstood by most of the "Mans", who, having little imagination themselves, could not comprehend that. If you dislike crossovers, fine-I don't like most myself because I cannot see any relationship between the two genres, but that does not mean that one or two won't "click", or that other people are not sufficiently talented to pull it off. pitbulllady

When was crossovering mentioned again?
Crossovering stories can sometimes seem "out-there" but some can actually be totally unrelated yet connect very well.

When was crossovering mentioned again? Crossovering stories can sometimes seem "out-there" but some can actually be totally unrelated yet connect very well. Yeah, one of the funniest and best fanfics I've ever read was that Monsters, Inc. x Lilo and Stitch crossover, which had Randall inadvertantly "kidnapping" Experiment 625 and bringing him back to the Monster World, trying to use him as a "front" to get even with Mike and Sulley, while 625....well, made sandwiches, and talked about sandwiches, and tried to pose as a Comedian while talking about making sandwiches, and generally drove Randall nuts by incessently going on and on about sandwiches...It was too bad that the author lost interest in both and never finished it, since it was really getting good about the time that Mike showed up in Lilo's room and got caught by Stitch...and Mike is extremely phobic of DOGS! pitbulllady

Wait? Wasn't I the...? OH! Right that other person right... This fanfic I'm referring to was written right after Lilo and Stitch came out in theaters, preceded by the "Disney Adventures" comics which introduced the world to Experiment 6-2-5, now known as "Reuben", who finally found redemption and conquered his laziness and cowardice himself in the ending of the tv series. I had not yet seen Monsters, Inc. at this point, and had not ever read any of the fanfics in the Monsters, Inc. section on FF.net, so this was the first time I'd ever heard of this "Randall Boggs" character. At that time, most of the female fanfic writers in the L&S section were calling Ex. 6-2-5 "Owen", after actor Owen Wilson, who is really good at playing the smart-A, redneck type(did I say "playing"?), but a lot of them were crazy-in-love with this Randall guy, so I had to find out more. On the subject of redemption, and back on topic, I just saw a new trailer for Good Wilt Hunting on Cartoon Network. Now, everyone knows my position on Good vs. Evil, and how we all have the capacity for BOTH, depending on our circumstances and in some cases, our personal choices. Last year, one of my sixth graders made a claim that Wilt was former gangbanger, and even an "O.G.", which in gang lexicon, means "Old Gansta", literally, the leader of a gang, who usually is the oldest member. Now, those of you who watch Foster's probably will find that VERY hard to believe, since Wilt is portrayed as one of the nicest(some say "TOO nice")individuals anywhere, selflessly giving and sacrificing his own comfort for that of others, but I felt at the time that the kid might have been onto something, other than just saying it to tick me off, knowing how much I loved Wilt and how against the gang lifestyle I was. It did get me to thinking though, that perhaps Wilt was not always this Mr. Nice Guy; that at one time, he might have very well been a mean male-offspring-of-a-female-dog, if you know what I mean, and then something horrible happened to HIM, that caused him to re-evaluate his stance and his place in the world, while costing him literally an arm and an eye, the equivalent of that "Blinding light on the road to Damascus" scenario. Well, having seen a couple of trailers for the movie, and especially after seeing the one tonight, I am really beginning to think that the kid was dead-on right. I can say this much-if it's not going to be revealed that Wilt is a former gangbanger(and some would say, "G 4 Life, Yo"), then CN sure is going out of their way to make it look that way for no reason! There is a scene in which Wilt meets up with who is apparently a former(?)rival or enemy, that Basketball-headed Dude, in a dark alleyway. All that was missing was the soundtrack by 50 Cent, I swear. Some of the members of the Never Forgotten forum have said they will quit watching the show if it is revealed that dear sweet Wilt was ever a gang member or did anything really bad(as HE himself suggested), but I kinda hope that is the case. It's not so much to make Wilt look bad, something I would not want to do, or to glorify a really brutal and sad reality for many kids, but to show that PEOPLE CAN CHANGE. It's really about Randall, in a way, after all; if people see that Wilt can go from being a violent, confrontational street fighter to the gentle, kind soul he is now(most of the time, anyway, as long as you don't mess with his friends or make fun of his height), then maybe some will see the potential that RANDALL has for change, rather than believe "once bad, always bad". pitbulllady

I've seen that commercial. But I think it's stupid to just quit watching the show just because it reveals your favorite character as once a bad dude. When I watch it, and if Wilt was a bad gangster guy, I will continue watching it to see how he became good and a Mr. Nice Guy.

I just found out that there will be a Wilt balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, too, in addition to the float(the female announcer said he was "cute"-no arguement from ME)! One of our forum members on Never Forgotten bought a DVD of the movie off Ebay(she's in Australia, so she could not watch the movie when it comes on tv here), which was actually a gift copy given to this reviewer by CN(and he promptly decided to sell it, the idiot, although it will probably be a collector's item that will greatly increase in value over the years), partly to keep someone else from getting it and uploading it to the 'net before the movie was released. While some of my theories are probably way off the mark, she gave enough information to indicate that this is an absolutely awesome movie, very funny, and yet very touching, too, just as we'd hoped. Disney felt threatened enough by it to run "The Incredibles" opposite of it on STARZ, so that has to say something right there!

Well, did anyone else see it yet? I'm still totally buzzed-I'm gonna dream about the Tall Red One all night for sure, now(NOT that this is a bad thing)! I'm not going to give away too many spoilers, since some you haven't seen it, but I will say that it more than lived up to the hype.
We DO get to meet Wilt's creator, and we do see how his arm was crushed(though we do not actually get to see it amputated-presumably a surgeon took care of that later)and how he lost the use of his left eye, and it was a most noble and courageous act that caused it. There is also a very emotional reunion scene, and we find out about the ton of guilt that Wilt has burdened himself with for the past 30 years, which accounts for why he's so apologetic and helpful to everyone. There are some scenes in which I can't help but to think of Randall and HIS family, IF he still has one, and how HE might be affected, albeit differently, by the same sort of guilt that he's let someone down.
One thing is certain, I have to say that I admire Wilt more than any other character, or most real people, for that matter. As a Pit Bull Terrier aficianado, one of the things I am most attracted to in that breed is a rare quality called "gameness", something few people understand. It's that quality that means a person who is game will never quit, never give up, no matter how badly hurt they are, how badly outmatched they are, or whatever the odds stacked against them, they just keep at whatever they are endeavoring. Wilt is the very essence of gameness, do-or-die spirit personified. Failure in a task is the absolute worst thing in the universe for him, and to some extent, THAT reminds me of Randall, too.

I really love it. it was better than i expected, to tell the truth. a very touching story with a lot of light hearted moments (the "practicing nudist" thing made me laugh out loud). i really think that Fosters is the best children's cartoon on these days. everything else seems to have lost sight of good taste and creativity. im a bit upset that i missed the Wilt balloon on TV, but i seen a few pics of it. ^-^

Their hopeless schoolboy crush on Frankie was pretty darn funny, too, especially since she could care less! I also couldn't help but notice how much Wilt has changed over the years, and NOT just due to having lost his arm and eye. If you compare pics of him in those flashback scenes, when Jordan was still a little kid, he looked a lot younger himself than he does now, which pretty much answers the question as to whether or not some(at least)Imaginary Friends can age, physically. I guess that pain and guilt really put those thirty years on him fast, though. Those end credits were still the funniest thing I've seen on tv in a looooong time, though! "WHooOOOOOOOO!!! GO JORDAN!!" "HEY, BACK IT UP PEOPLE-THIS AIN'T A CONTACT SPORT!" I would have felt SOOO sorry for the player on the opposing team who made the heinous mistake of elbowing Jordan Michaels during that game, or the ref who called a foul on him, or the fan of the opposing team who feels the urge to say something unflattering about Mr. Michaels during that game, lol! If Jordan's "dad" keeps showing up, the NBA is gonna make him start wearing a shirt that echoes those guard dog signs-"My Imaginary Friend Can Make It Across This Court in .08 Seconds-Can YOU?" Kinda reminded me of what I've read about Steve Buscemi at hockey games...to the power of 10! pitbulllady
