Guess what this trailer is to? youtube.com/watch?v=OISmH4-DeygYep, that's right! The Eragon movie trailer!! It actually doesn't look that bad. Though, I do agree with my friend Kat. I think they already screwed it up. Doesn't look as bad as the Harry Potter movies turned out, though. What do the rest of you think? I've personally got the feeling that this movie is going to put Paolini in Rowling's sort of limelight. Think of the ball that toy companies are going to have, producing action figures of Eragon and Brom and Durza and Murtagh and Arya, and big plush dolls of Saphira. It's almost scary, in my opinion.

I read the book, and I can bet the book's way better than the movie. It's because I heard they didn't spend much time putting any 'heart' into the film. Anyways, I always feel uneasy when seeing new fantasy books turned into films. It's nice to see the characters and scenes a lot clearer, but then again- I've lost what I first imagined Harry Potter to be like ... I bet it'll be the same with Eragon, but I'm bound to see it sooner or later. The commercials alone messed up my images of the characters anyway.

I've heard from a group of friends that the movie is good if you haven't read the book yet.

yeah, people i've talked to who haven't read the book said they like it, but it's definitely not for people who have read the books. i've seen a lot of book based films before and i've been able to handle them. i love the Harry Potter movies, even though they're nothing like the books. but really if you've read them and loved them, don't see the movie. you just end really mad. lol. but baby Saphire was very very cute. i liked that.

I saw it last night. It was alright... The dragon effects were pretty awesome. But I never read the book, so some stuff seemed...I don't know, rushed, maybe? It was okay.

I thought it was ok. Saphira was well done ^_^ In both movies, actor, and attitude ^_^
I also love who they cast for Brom ^_^
YEP. It WAS rushed. But we really can't blame them folks. I mean...it WAS a long book and long adventure. One thing thought is that Eragon, the first book, will be split up into chapters like Harry Potter in a way, but several movies for a book.
One thing they really left out was, if I recall, been awhile since I read the book, was the drawf friend who gave Eragon the hammer necklace that protected him from the Dorza's sights.

I don't really plan on seeing it- a friend of mine saw it, and she said that the acting was pretty bad.

Yeah, I think I might like this film. I saw the Harry Potter films, and though they're not as great as the books I respect them in their own way. It's the people that don't bother to read the books that bugs me. It's been a while since I read Eragon, and I can recall the parts with Brom teaching Eragon being sorta boring (no offense) and I live for action scenes, and to see dragons in realistic 3D animation is awesome.

*shrugs* Who knows people...maybe on the DVD they will have allot of deleted scenes.
Heck. Didn't Lord of the Rings have like 12 hours of extras?
