I currently have a BLofSC friend of mine (we call him "Buzz", since he's so much like the character), who is actually working at WDW right now in the internship program there. So, I've been trying to get some input out of him - from an insider's point of view - what he's been hearing about the Pixar/Disney stuff. So, I thought I might as well pass it on to you guys. . . He's one of the most trustworthy people I know, so he wouldn't make up stuff like this. Hopefully he can get more information later on. If so, I'll post it here.

I'm getting more hopeful that a new deal WILL be reached, since Iger knows he is under tremendous public-and stock-holder-pressure to keep Pixar. I would hope, though, that Disney will at least be able to pursuade Pixar to create QUALITY sequels to at least their top movies, and perhaps the two studios can actually collaborate, creatively, on the sequels. If Pixar at least has a major say, and helps out, even a Disney-made sequel might not be too bad.

Yeah, that'd be great. Negotiations can lead to anything, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Yes this does seem good. Iger won't make the same mistake, so I think we have a high chance.
Hmm.... I don't know what it meant "by 2007" though. Why is there a restriction like that?

Pixar does not release more than one film per year, and they will release "Cars" in 2006, so that means that the earliest they will release another film is in 2007. pitbulllady

Yes....so what does that matter?
Doesn't that Ratella (or something) Pixar film come out after Cars?

So the contract shouldn't end there.

The contract between Pixar and Disney? Well, the contract ends with Cars- Ratatouille is the first Pixar film not made within the contract.

So any NEW characters aren't under contract!?
That seems a little unfair to Ran and Buzz and everyone else....

Well, yeah, after Cars, even if Disney and Pixar make a new deal, I think Ratatouille will be solely Pixar's property. ;D

Perhaps.... Pixar DOES want their characters back.... And since the fans DID contribute to wanting a new contract, and SINCE THEY HAVE been told about a constant M.I. sequel, they should do it.
