Hey guys, it's me. Sorry. My server was down yesterday and I couldn't get on. I know SOMEONE was at a miss to where I was. Just wanted you all to know my computer didn't crash or anything, but it was just my providers. Hopefully it was a one day situation. Just telling you all so you dont worry. Hopefully you'll all see me later on. So don't you guys do anything major without me alright? Coming from school here by the way.

Since I can reply, might as well get one out of the way.
This seems like good news, as I had predict right? In any case, there may be a few hurdles for the groups to pass by, but it seems pretty straight forward that both companies want to get back together. Since these talks have high hopes with each other, it seems likely that they'll come to some agreement. Most likely, since they have about 2 years, the unit that replaces Pixar will be dismantelled and that any design plans for any of the sequels, including M.I. will be handed over and edited or discarded by Pixar.
Since Eisner's set leave, it seems that Hollywood Studios will have a hard time since Pixar has decided they want to talk again with Disney. So that hurdle seems to be a loose threat. It seems the only problem is the lay offs from the Unit that was making the sequels. But still, maybe it could be remade into something else...

I agree that this is good news. Talks with Disney means hopefully a new deal, which means a sequel to MI, right? ;D

No, it doesn't necessarily guarantee a sequel. IF they DO reconcile, almost certainly part of the new deal will involve Disney having to scrap its plans to make sequels to the Pixar films. Unless the deal also requires Pixar to make sequels to its OWN films for Disney to distribute, there likely won't be a sequel, since Pixar itself is against the idea of making sequels. THAT has been one of the "bones of contention" thus far; if Disney keeps the ownership rights to the Pixar characters, Pixar probably won't sign a new deal with them. If Disney gives them back to Pixar, that will be the last we will see of them, unless Pixar agrees to make sequels, and Disney probably will have to pay them(or split 50/50)to use the characters in theme parks and such.

...well, it's still good news. At least it's looking like they may work things out peacefully.

Maybe I didn't direct it specifically but....
AN OPTION, like I said, would be that Disney dismantels the Unit if Pixar decides to make the sequels.
All they need know is an exchange for Character's Rights....but what could be good enough for that? Think the Unit dismantel and rights would be enough in exchange for Disney asking for them to make the sequels?

Somehow, I doubt Disney will be willing to give back the rights to characters. It makes them look smaller than Pixar if they were to do that, and that's exactly what Disney doesn't want.

Really, a lot of this depends upon Steve Jobs and Iger, and how much each one is willing to concede (or not concede) to the other. They're BOTH looking out for each of their respective company's best interests, and, quite frankly, it's in Disney's best interest as a business to retain the rights to the Pixar characters, lucrative as they have been. In terms of possible sequels (were Disney and Pixar to renew their partnership), though, and granting that Disney dismantles that "Sequel Lab," if the folks at Pixar were to come up with some fabulous sequel ideas, then I don't think Jobs will hold them back from developing them. Somehow, I just don't see Brad Bird meeting up with Jobs one day, saying, "Y'know, I've finally come up with this AWESOME idea for an Incredibles sequel," making the pitch, and then Jobs replying with, "That sounds great, but sorry -- we don't do sequels."

Well...I still say that dismanteling the Unit in exchange for Pixar doing the sequels is a pretty good idea.
But what about Randall and everyone else?

The thing is, no matter how much we talk about all of this, we can't really change what's gonna happen. We'll just have to wait and see.

Come on Cool honestly.... At least ONE person from either of these companies is looking for what the people want.... Heck. They come around here they might get business ideas.... The one I proposed seems fair....
But lets just think of what would be a good trade.......
Besides..... We need something to discuss heh ^_^
