It's official. Or at least, if they're planning on making a sequel without Heimlich, Manny, or Gypsy. I always loved Heimlich, and Manny and Gypsy were my favorite couple in the film. I was looking them up on IMDB, and I found out that Jonathan Harris (Manny), who I only knew from 'The Banana Splits Adventure Hour', died in 2002 of a blood clot in the heart. Madeline Khan (Gypsy), who I've seen in 'Young Frankenstein', died of ovarian cancer in 1999. And of course, we sadly heard about Joe Ranft who died earlier this year in a car crash. It's really a shame, since I grew to appreciate 'A Bug's Life' more as I grew older, and with the help of Pixar of course, it could've became a great sequel. But I highly doubt they'd continue after these deaths, and I can't blame them.

That's one of the things that worries me about ALL of the sequels(IF any)to the Pixar movies, whoever winds up making them. It's just taking so long, that many of the voice actors who really put life and personality into the character we have come to know and love won't be around, and the characters just will not be the same otherwise. Even a comparative young guy, like Joe Ranft, can be suddenly taken from us, and many of the guys who voices the "Monsters, Inc." characters are at least in their fifties or sixties, even.

I'm trying real hard to make rememberance pics- one for Gypsy and Manny, and another for Heimlich. I should ask my art teacher for some help ... I was planning a fanfiction for Manny and Gypsy even before I heard what happened. I should work on that too ... It really hits me hard when this happens. The same with Jerry Orbach, who voiced Lumiere. I don't know him, nor the other voice actors, but when you learn to love a character that many people put a lot into creating, giving them personalities, and bringing them to life, in a matter of speaking, it ... it just really gets to me.

Jerry Orbach. Yeah, he was great doing the voice of Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast. It is so, so sad he died!

Jerry Orbach. Yeah, he was great doing the voice of Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast. It is so, so sad he died! Yeah, and he was very loyal to Lumiere. He never let anyone else voice him. He did all his appearances in 'House of Mouse', big or small parts, it didn't matter. One-liners or several lines ... Usually, people have to replace voice actors because they're either too busy or they refuse to do it. Like Eddie Murphy. Jerry didn't. I admire his loyalty for something a simple as a 2-D character in children's films/shows. Sad thing is- Kingdom Hearts 2 will have Lumiere in it, and there's a 95% chance they didn't get to Jerry before he died to do Lumie's voice over. It's sad They'd better get someone who truly sounds like him then ...

Personally, I like the idea of Kingdom Hearts. Not just because of it's great gaming and incredible story....but because we get to see all these old characters together again for a new adventure. And every voice for the characters, Disney's mostly, were perfect for each character. Hopefully we'll see a Kingdom Hearts, like I'm doing, with Pixar Movies that give the voice actors a chance to join together for, if it not last, an oppurtunity to play these characters again instead of waiting for long-term movie chances.

Oh, yeah, I'm not complaining. I actually thought Genie's voice was Robin Williams. They do the characters justice. And the voice for Maleficent, Susan Blakeslee- surprisingly also voices Wanda on Fairly Odd Parents But she does a great imitation of Maleficent. So ... I'm not really worried for Lumiere ... my friend is, but knowing Disney, they go out of their way to find the perfect voice. They did for Mickey and Minnie (which, I found out, the people who did their voices got married- how sweet lol)

Yeah. IT WASN'T ROBIN WILLAIMS?! WOW!
Disney's not that good at story, but remember people, Square was involved too, and they KNOW how to make a good story. Square made the characters to be on Kingdom Hearts, so who's to say they didn't have a "voice" in the "voice actors" ^_^

That is very sad, and is one of the most common problems in the film world when it comes to sequels.

True. They usually find someone with an equal voice but...the character wouldn't be the same...too much anyway.

Well no. They are right, it just isn't the same. We can't condone people for keeping a character alive.
