Mike discards a plan to sneak Boo out with a Wooden Horse as "too Greek". Obviously monster history parallels our own. Also the geography parallels our own...there must be a Greece, and by implication the other geography. This might be a hint where Monstropolis was. Where was that Enron blighted city again, Los Angeles? That would be good for cold-bloodeds, given the climate.

Where was that Enron blighted city again, Los Angeles? That would be good for cold-bloodeds, given the climate. Enron Corp. was actually based in Texas, although they owned the utility companies that served most of the west coast of the US, just like the parent company of our local utility co. is in New York. Given the fact that the leaves on the trees that line the streets as Mike and Sulley are walking to work, that region of the country in which Monstropolis is found would have to have a temperate climate, with distinct seasons, which would include an obvious fall and winter. The climate in Los Angeles is normally considered a "Mediterranian" climate, with less distinction between seasons insofar as temperature goes, but one based more on the amount of rainfall. The architechture of Monstropolis seems to more closely parallel that of many large, old east coast cities, like Philly or Baltimore, than that of the more modern west coast, and the climate would be right for the Mid-Atlantic are, too, as would the "cosmopolitan" array of accents and ethnic groups, from Tony's obvious Italian, Mike's New York, Sulley borderline Southern, and Randall's Midwestern(I'd bet money that if Randall had to say the word "WASH", he'd stick a "R" in there, LOL). pitbulllady

This falls into the category of door searching.
Contradicting the toxic "security", it seems there is allot of referrances from our world to theirs. Shouldn't one be questioing WHY they know so much about us if everything we possess, even ourselves, is relatively toxic to them?
Anyway... Some history may have been immitated and some referrances could be the same. The wooden horse during the Troy escapade....*waits for Randall to make a referrance that it was all for the love of a woman.......nope*....was long ago.
Monsters did NOT discover the door mechanism before the midevile (hate word...) times. So it can be said that the history in such times of greece and knights is actually a point where the worlds were not neccasarily "so seperate".
