At one point Randall's assistant says to Mike something like "Randall says I can't fraternize with victims of his evil plot." Any comments, Randall-is-just-misunderstooders? :-)

Well, firstly, I sincerely doubt that Randall actually said this word by word. Fungus is just putting words into Randall's mouth, and at the same time, is actually revealling his own thoughts concerning the SE. Fungus obviously doesn't like the idea, but wouldn't dare telling Randall face to face, hence the little slip he made whilst talking to Wazowski.

I believe proof is lacking for that statement. However, I'm not saying you're wrong, not saying you're right either, it's still open.

Fungus probably did NOT know that Waternoose was behind the whole thing, since I'm sure that Randall was sworn not to breathe a word to anyone about the mastermind of the "evil plot", lest he face dire consequences from Waternoose. More than likely, Randall had dragged Fungus into helping work on the machine when it became obvious that he could not handle it alone, at least not within the time frame imposed upon him by Waternoose. Waternoose would have agreed to let Randall bring Fungus in on the project, under the agreement that Randall did not tell Fungus about Waternoose's role, since everyone would have known what a motormouth Fungus was. If Fungus did blab, it would be Randall's butt on the line, not Waternoose's, since Fungus would assume that the whole thing was Randall's idea from the start. Bringing Fungus in on the project would have expedited the completion of the project, and I'm sure that Waternoose did not simply tell Randall to take as long as he needed on the project, but it would have been necessary to keep Fungus in the dark as to who the real mastermind behind the plot actually was.

If Fungus was doing the SE with Randall, he must have known humans are non-toxic. If he is such a blabbermouth, why doesn't everyone know?

If Fungus was doing the SE with Randall, he must have known humans are non-toxic. If he is such a blabbermouth, why doesn't everyone know? Randall was probably still able to keep him in check up to that point, which probably was part of the agreement between him and Waternoose to let Randall bring Fungus in on the project in the first place. Randall's increasing impatience, due to the difficulty in keeping Fungus quiet, would have helped contribute to his short temper in dealing with the little three-eyed geek. Randall might not have also let on that humans weren't toxic, and I'm not convinced that he totally believed that himself, due to his reaction to Boo jumping on his back later on. It's difficult to change long-held cultural beliefs, after all. pitbulllady

Fungus probably knew that the kid wasn't toxic. In terms of "evil-plot", it's unknown if Fungus KNEW Waternoose was behind everything.
"HEY! I got ridiculed for a paper I made on kids NOT being toixc"
"As for Fungus....well he got into the business himself with snooping around...if I hadn't let him in on everything...four eyes would've dumped Fungus into Banishment ya know"
