I remember thinking November 2 was an awfully odd premiere date for a movie like Monsters Inc. It would have been perfect as a Halloween movie release. Was it originally intended to come out a week or two earlier, but had a set-back?

What do you mean? October 28th WAS the premiere date.....it went into general release on November 2 but it PREMIERED on October 28th.

ALL of Pixar's movies are either wide-released in the US and Canada in June or November. "Cars", for example, was originally going to be a November release, but the date was moved up to June to correspond with the summer peak NASCAR racing season. "Monsters, Inc." actually DOES take place, as in the movie, in November, so it is only logical that the release date and the dates in the movie coincide.

With them fused with Disney, could they come out with 2 movies a year, as someone suggested? That would make TS3 Nov 2007 (although IMDB gives 2008 as the year).

Well given the contract and discussion overall between Disney and Pixar, two movies may very well be possible.
