If it is very rare, their maybe a chance of seeing it on Ebay, but I wouldn't count on it , since rare things only come on here and there. I now seriously regret this now... I saw a very limited statue of two favourite horror characters of mine on Ebay. Only 100 of them statues have been made worldwide! I knew I would never get it because it was £150 Nevermind... that was a while back anyway. I have my other horror stuff to like ;D Anyway, now you've said about them comics, I'm exited now! I'll definatly be buying the MI one if I get a chance too!

Dang, something I need to grab up ^_^ Embarass the guy more ^0^ That's why I so love the bit in the New Years when Mike sees a floating diaper in the storage room ^0^ Unless you find it on Ebay, you won't be able to just "grab up" this comic. "Disney Adventures" is no longer published. HOWEVER, there is a thread on Pixar Planet's forum that there will be a series of comics released, presumably as regular comic books, that will feature several Pixar movies, including Monsters, Inc.. They are supposed to be released in March of this year, with The Incredibles being the first. It waits to be seen, though, if they will continue with the "Randall-as-evil-to-the-core-bad-guy", or even feature him at all. pitbulllady Actually I have already found the exact comics and have their purchases on take ^_- *sighs* Dang...I was hoping to reveal it myself ^_^ But...YES...there WILL be comics coming. Pixar and Disney are working with BOOM! Comics to release several stories based on the Pixar Films. So far they include WALL-E, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles (that one actually has it's first story revealed), and...YES...Monsters Inc. ladies and gentlemen. AND...thanks to my research, I have determined for now that at least one of the M.I. stories is set BEFORE the events in the movie. Ebay may be the god-sent-site for purchasing, but ain't the only one ^_^ Actually to my knowledge there will be, if I recall, 4-5 comic stories for each film....unsure if this is comic books, or stories within one book. Unsure of that...HOWEVER...they ARE release a sort of......uhh...."preview book", featuring on the cover art bits of tthe Finding Nemo, Toy Story, and...YES...Monsters Inc...comics. Just an art piece for now.

Unsure of that...HOWEVER...they ARE release a sort of......uhh...."preview book", featuring on the cover art bits of tthe Finding Nemo, Toy Story, and...YES...Monsters Inc...comics. Just an art piece for now. We had a sort of preview of The Incredibles comic's plot, or at least, the first one featuring those characters, on the Pixar Planet board, and it sounds good so far. I've got mixed feelings about the Monsters, Inc. comics, though, especially the one that takes place before the movie, which, as you know, was also the time frame for many of the "Disney Adventure" comics. That includes the one in which we get to see Randall in his jammies, and while that is cute(along with his tongue poking out while he sleeps...sorta reminds me of Wilt playing basketball; maybe he was dreaming of shootin' some hoops back home in Indiana), Randall is still portrayed as a loser who is at odds with dear Mike and Sulley. THEY, of course, are shown as the triumphant heroes. If you recall, in that comic, Waternoose purchases a robot which is programmed to scare children(guess he didn't realize how many kids PLAY with robots or associate them with being cute and funny, a'la R2D2, and this was BEFORE WALL-E), and he called a big staff meeting to announce this and to assign the robot to a particular Scare Team. Who does he pick? Well, good ole' Mike and Sulley, of course, who else? I mean, can't let an opportunity like this slip past your old family buddy, now can he? You'd think that if this robot is supposed to HELP a team scare more children and gather MORE Scream, it would make sense to assign it to a team that is flagging behind and in need of a little extra assistance, rather than to the top-ranked team, but cronyism demands that you help out your friends, so Sulley and Mike it is. Randall, of course, is not pleased. I do not blame him. I'd be seriously P.O.'d, too. We also get to see just how HATEFUL Mike and Sulley are to him, every chance they get. He walks up later on to just make small talk, and tell him to get lost and call him a "creep"! So, Randall decides to get even, by sneaking in on their robot Scare helper and re-programming it(gotta admire his techie brilliance)to LIKE human children, and to want to play with them, rather than threaten and terrify them(now, if Randall were really evil and mean, he COULD have programmed the thing to mutilate the little brats-THAT would have looked really good on Mike and Sulley's record). When Mike and Sulley "sic" the robot on a little girl, listening in for her much-anticipated shrieks of terror, nothing happens. Nothing continues to happen, so they take a peek inside, and see her and the robot playing dress-up, putting on make-up and sharing "tea", like two little girls! They hurriedly fetch their so-called Scare helper, and Mike somehow figures out that in the few seconds that they lost track of where Randall ran off to after they yell at him and generally behave extremely uncivilized towards him for no other reason than, well, he's Randall, that he must have re-programmed the robot. SO, naturally, they plot revenge on HIM(those two are so good at that revenge thing). They literally BREAK INTO RANDALL'S HOUSE/APARTMENT at night after he's gone to bed, and "sic" the robot on HIM! He's rudely awakened by the robot applying make-up and lipstick to his face, while going, "Pretty! Pretty", like the little girl taught it to say, and is literally chased out of HIS OWN HOME by this thing, while the two home invaders stand laughing hysterically! My first thought was, "WHY THE &*^% DOESN'T RANDALL OWN A *&^$#&G GUN!?" Seriously, I wanted to pump both barrels of my 12-gauge into both Sulley and Mike at that point, which, in MY state, is not only legal to do with home invaders, but pretty much a requirement! I have a bad, bad feeling that the "pre-movie" BOOM comic is going to be more of the same-"Randall is bad just because of what he is, so hate him as much as you can, kiddies-he'll get his comeuppance at the hands of our intrepid Good Guys, Mike and Sulley"! I'll be totally shocked if it's not. pitbulllady

Oh yeah...probably the reason he doesn't own one is either he can't...or it's illegal for him to shoot someone. Why? OH YEAH.....PROBABLY because reptilian Mons are minorities....take THAT naysayers ^0^

*folds arms* I seriously need to find scans for this...or the book itself... I actually have the comic myself, somewhere, and I saw it not long ago at my house...somewhere. If you recall, we discussed putting up scans here before, but the consensus was that doing do would be illegal, so none of us did. Yeah, you're probably right about the gun thing, though. Either guns are illegal, period, in the Monster World(a prime example of gun control gone wrong), OR certain types of Mons are prohibited from owning them, just like Black people back in the '50's around here couldn't own a gun, no matter if they'd done anything wrong or not. It was just assumed, that because they were Black, that they were GOING to do something bad, and letting them have firearms was just going to make it easier for them to do bad things. I wonder, though, if there is a way to influence the BOOM people, since there does not seem to be a way to reach the Pixar folks. I know that they have an agreement to keep characters as close as possible to the movies, and if they want everyone to believe that Randall's character was just pure evil, there might not be any way to make them see otherwise. pitbulllady

*folds arms* Hmm....actually I've seen scans before...and since they were like 8...7 years ago and STILL up...I think if we just do the pages with the material and NOT the whole thing it isn't illegal. I mean...many sites, when you do Google Book Search, let you view pages for free.
EXACTLY.
*thinks* We should persue this...afterall...if BOOM does want to be close to the characters, everything that we found in truths should be told to them....and given how Randall's fandom is relatively the highest and longest standing since the film, they should take our opinons in account.

I checked out BOOM's home page. I am not a big comic fan, I must admit, not unless they are of a genre or fandom that I'm already into, and that doesn't happen often. The pic I saw of their upcoming Pixar comic showed Mike and Sulley in Mike's YELLOW car(the one from "Mike's New Car"), obviously stuck in a wicked traffic jam(they SO deserve it), not very happy campers. WHY does Sulley, who is the CEO of a major company, still ride to work in a car, driven by MIKE? Can't he afford to hire a REAL driver, with a REAL car? He still carries his own lunch, too, so apparently either there's been a major series of budget cuts at M.I(sign of the times), or the in-house catering sucks, big time. Bad news is that these comics are being published in tandem with DISNEY publications, and Disney Publications is responsible for all those horrible little books calling Randall a "cheater" and all that garbage. pitbulllady

Actually this pic demonstrates my theory that this happens BEFORE the film...despite the "new car" (I don't have the memory to compare it to the car in the film so don't hit me with that)....I believe this is in the past because... 1. It shows the drudgery people feel about "getting up in the morning", and the way the comic's preview is illustrated, probably shows this is near their first time. 2. Sullivan wears...oh I don't know...a tie I think it was when he took over the position as CEO. If he WAS CEO in the comic, wouldn't he be wearing it? Afterall, in the future Sulley goes all out with being prepared, so why not do so then? 3. Wazowski is just as miserable. WHY? He seemed pretty happy. Oh...maybe it's because he's going to work where the TOP SCARER is someone he loathes ^_-

It also had a different body style from this yellow car. They're miserable because they're stuck in traffic, AND they're crammed in there like sardines in a can, due to the fact that one of them is seriously too big to riding in that car in the first place. I won't name names. pitbulllady

*thinks* Ahh...but would we say this car is better than the one we see in the film? From my chartered memory, the one in the film seems to look allot better (and may be a convertable), than the one in the pic. So maybe being the driving-obssessor he is, Wazowski might aim to get a better car whenever possible and give it the same name.
