Just peaking into my files and I came across something interesting. I can't say where I get this from, but believe me, it's true ^_^
Did you (all ^_^) know that most of the books required reading by M.I. employees, Scarers, are by the C.D.A.?
Comments? I know Randall wasn't mentioned, but this does involve him, trust me ^_^ Besides....this place has been dormant for a bit ^_^

Really? That is sorta suspicious, isn't it? I mean a factory MAKING employees read books put out by a government agency is odd. There are lots of government publications that we are encouraged to read, but most of 'em actually make very little sense, or contradict each other, and so very few people actually bother to read them.

All I can think of is that they want complete control, and if everyone's reading what the CDA have printed, and then something happens concerning bad publicity with the CDA, maybe the employee's trust of the CDA won't be affected.

*chuckles*
You have a slice Cool.....congrats...
The C.D.A. is a group that had been formed ever since Scareing started, even before it became a business...
The C.D.A. "protects" monsters from the other world, whereas in us. The C.D.A.'s long-term involvement with "protection" led to the public, most anyway, to agree and trust the group.
Good slice....

It sort of reminds me of the Matrix- trying to convince people to believe something that isn't true.

Poor monsters...go on with their daily life unaware of the true evil that runs their lives.... The shadows and spectors that lurk in the dark....
Funny how they've had their eyes on Randall for awhile...

The CDA really thought that he was as far as the whole idea for the SE went, didn't they? Idiots.

No Cool..... The C.D.A. knew....
Roz.... Oh....sorry Roz....I had no idea of how oblivious you were to everything.....
Who did you think made the Scream Shortage so that the public would accept the extractor Cool....

True. But didn't Roz mention at the end when she reveals herself to be Number One that they didn't realise it went all the way to the top?

But if ScareCo. and the C.D.A. got their plan to fruitation, Do you think they would get away with any of this? After all, the public would hate being misled or taken advantage or whatever. It was probrably the same with Enron.

............ Tailmister....please understand.
Scare Co. created the Scream Shortage. For why? I can't say yet.... But....the scream shortage led to the many problems you see before you in the movie. With the invention of the Scream Extractor, being made and to-be-tested in the most prestigus (ugh) scream producing factory that has been around for 191 years, the public would HAVE to accept this new way of collecting screams.
Besides....what do....."most" of the public think of humans? They don't care really....most anyway....
With those few who do continue to resent this new way....will have to answer to the C.D.A.....

But you're indicating that the CDA not only knew about the plan to develope the Scream Extractor, but ENDORSED it! Sorry, but I can't buy that one. If they were behind the plan all along, there would not have been any reason to arrest Waternoose, or to have been stationed at the factory on suspicions that someone was bringing(or was going to bring)human children into the Monster World via the factory.
The reason that Enron's executives did what they did, and the reason Waternoose did what HE did are the same-to make MORE MONEY. Period. Greed begets more greed. Enron would have gone right on duping the public about the "energy shortage", then one of their CEO's would have "discovered" a means of producing more electricity, for cheaper, so the company could have claimed credit for "solving" the "energy crisis", and become heroes in the eyes of customers. More people than ever would have invested in their stocks. Ditto with Waternoose. He created the "scream shortage", probably with the help of some complying board members, all the while having Randall make this Scream Extractor for him. When things seemed totally hopeless on the energy front, he would have introduced the Scream Extractor to the public, but probably with the plans of it being taken into children's rooms(or a smaller version, anyway), so the "danger" of bringing human children into the Monster World would have been negated. Waternoose, of course, would claim full responsibility for "solving" their "engergy crisis", and become a hero. Stocks would have gone through the roof. By this time, naturally, the one who had actually designed and built the darn thing would have been long "disposed of", so as not to try and hog any of Waternoose's publicity. Even IF the idea HAD included bringing human children into the factory, by this point, the CDA would have been helpless to do anything about it, since public opinion would have favored whatever means necessary to get the power back on. But no, I don't believe for one second that the CDA was behind the Scream Extractor, corrupt or not. I know too much about government and business, for way too long, to go with that.

I think WATERNOOSE created the 'scream shortage' and it was nothing to do with the CDA, and when he did so, and when he hired Randall to build the SE, the CDA, having been keeping a close eye on MI all along, decided to find out why Randall was spending so much extra time at work. Then, with the whole Boo thing, they eventually find out that it didn't stop at Randall, but went all the way up to Waternoose.
